Nitroso-hemoglobin Increased the Color Stability and Inhibited the Pathogenic Bacteria in a Minced Beef Model: A Combined Low-field NMR Study

  • This study mainly investigated the improvement effect of nitroso-hemoglobin (NO-Hb) and four lactic acid bacteria (LAB) (Streptococcus thermophiles, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus casei, and Montessori enterococcus) on the color and microbiological qualities of raw beef. Three strains of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus, Salmonella, and Pseudomonas were used as pathogenic bacteria. The results showed that both NO-Hb and LAB could enhance the color stability and scavenged the spoilage bacteria in a minced beef model. But the improvement effect of NO-Hb was more significant than LAB. This suggested that NO-Hb, as a novel ingredient, could be used as a promising substitute for nitrite in meat products to improve the color and safety of meat products. In addition, low field (LF)-NMR method has been established to be practicable to identify changes in the relaxation times of water and fat caused by different type of bacteria and the storage periods. The number of relaxation components in minced beef was affected by bacteria and increase of the storage period.

일방향 응고한 Ni기 초내열 공정복합재료의 열적 안정성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Thermal Stability of Unidirectionally Solidified Eutectic Composites of Ni-Base Superalloys)

  • Ni/$Ni_3$Al-$Ni_3$Nb(${\gamma}$/${\gamma}$'-${\delta}$), Ni-$Ni_3$Nb(${\gamma}$-${\delta}$) 공정복합재료를 일방향 응고하였으며, 성장속도에 따른 경도변화, 고온에서 미세조직의 안정성을 층상간격의 영향에 대해 연구하였다. 초내열합금 공정복합재료의 층상간격은 ${\lambda}^2$R=상수라는 관계식에 의하여 성장속도(R)와 함께 변화하였다. 초내열합금 공정복합 재료를 위한 항온열처리의 결과는 이 연구에 이용되었다. 공정복합재료는 고온에서 미세구조의 안정성이 층상간격의 증가 때문에, 경도는 성장속도의 증가 때문에 향상되었다.

Analysis of Trend of Studies on Microneedle Treatment System (MTS)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to analyze the microneedle therapy system (MTS) and its research methods for the past 10 years in Korea. Methods: Data on microneedle therapy system were collected using NDSL, KISS, RISS, and OASIS electronic databases from January 2010 to August 2021. "microneedle," "derma stamp," "microneedle therapy system" were used as the keywords. The present study, however, excluded data that were 1) unrelated to the microneedle therapy system, 2) from review/meta/protocol studies, and 3) from overseas studies. Data selected through the primary screening process, animal studies, case reports, and clinical data were included in the analysis. However, information data not related to the microneedle therapy system were excluded from the study. Results: Among the MTS-related papers published from January 2010 to August 2021, 7 animal research, 2 clinical trials, and 10 case studies were published. Based on the research topics, there were 8 papers on skin improvement and skin diseases, 7 papers on hair growth and hair loss, 3 papers on stability, and 1 paper on peripheral facial paralysis. Conclusion: Most of the studies related to MTS focused on skin, hair, and stability. The effect of MTS on hair growth and skin improvement has been confirmed, and it has been proven to have significant effects on the treatment of acne, acne scars, and hair loss in clinical practice. No serious side effects were observed during the MTS treatment, and the safety assessment confirmed that it was safe for use.

Photo Spacer Induced Bistable Mode Plastic PSFLCDs for High Mechanical Stability

  • We report new polymer stabilized ferroelectric liquid crystal (PSFLC) cells with mechanical stability which is achievable by introducing photospacers in the cells. It was found that the mechanical st ability of the PSFLC cell was effected by introduction of photo spacers. We analyzed the dependence of mechanical stability and memory property on the density of photospacers in the PSFLC cell. The stability and memory properties of PSFLC Cells depending on photospacer density are discussed. 1. Introduction Recently, flexible displays have attracted much attention because they have remarkable advantages: thinner, lighter, non-breakable and conformable features. Flexible displays have various potential applications such as e-book and e-paper displays utilizing the distinct features. E-book and E-paper displays demand very low power consumption, so that bistable memory liquid crystal modes are required in case of flexible plastic LCDs for those application. Three kinds of memory LC modes have been developed; bistable nematic, bistable cholesteric and bistable FLC. Among them SSFLC as one of bistable FLC has big advantages such as low driving voltage, wide view angle and fast response time, SSFLC cells are, however, very weak against mechanical shock. Polymer stabilized FLC (PSFLC) has been developed to overcome the poor mechanical stability of SSFLC. PSFLC was known to have network structure that FLCs are oriented with smectic layer ordering in polymer network. The polymer network stabilizes the FLC orientation, which leads to improvement of mechanical stability of PSFLCD. A lot of studies have been done for the application of PSFLC to flexible $LCDs.^{[1{\sim}12]}$ However, it should be noted that PSFLC does not have sufficient mechanical stability for the particular applications such as smart card LCD, where LCD is highly bendable.Bead spacer was mainly used to maintain cell gap of conventional PSFLCDs. But the spacer density of it is not locally uniform in the cell, so that it is generally difficult that the PSFLCDs with bead spacers show sufficient mechanical stability. In order to more improve the mechanical stability of PSFLCDs, we introduced photospacers into PSFLCDs. In this paper, we describe the improvement of mechanical stability by introducing photospacers into PSFLCDs.

소형 커나드 항공기의 가로안정성 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Lateral Stability Improvement of a Small Canard Aircraft)

  • 본 논문에서는 소형 커나드 항공기인 Velocity-173의 가로안정성을 향상시키기 위한 방법에 대하여 연구하였다. Velocity-173의 세로안정성은 매우 우수한 반면, 가로안정성은 상대적으로 나쁘다. 가로안정성을 향상시키기 위해 수직미익의 면적을 증가시키는 작은 패널을 설계 및 제작하였다. 패널 설계 과정에서 AAA를 이용하여 패널 부착으로 인한 가로안정성의 변화를 예측하였다. 패널 부착 효과를 검증하기 위해 비행시험이 수행되었다. 또한, 비행시험 데이터로부터 안정/조종 미계수를 추출하기 위하여 최대공산추정법을 이용하였다. 본 연구를 통해 수직미익 아래에 부착된 패널의 효과를 확인할 수 있었다.

국내 어선 복원성 규정 분석 및 개선 기준안 연구 (Analysis of Domestic Fishing Vessel Stability Regulations and Research on their Criteria Amendment for Improvement)

  • 전 세계 해상 선박사고 건수는 감소하고 있지만, 국내 해상 사고 건수는 증가하고 있다. 이러한 이유에서 국내 선박의 해양 사고를 줄이기 위한 한 가지 방법으로 사고 건수가 가장 많은 어선과 낚시어선을 대상으로 하는 어선복원성기준에 관한 연구를 수행한다. 국제해사기구(IMO)와 국내 그리고 일본, 중국, 캐나다 해외 3개국의 어선복원성기준을 각각 조사하고, 상호 비교 분석한 결과외국의 기준들 대비 국내 기준이 가장 완화된 기준임을 알 수 있었다. 비교 분석 결과를 토대로 국내 어선복원성 기준을 보완하기 위한 어선복원성기준 개정(안)을 5가지 평가항목에 대해서 제안했다.

  • In order to improve stability of rail and ride comfort, railway bridges should be maintained a integrity. However, it is necessary to plan various reinforcements and improvements because of a long term used and external effects. In this paper, the improvement plan which is reflected by investigation for reinforcement and improvement is introduced. The constituents of the structures are defined in order to optimize the improvement plane, and the analysis for relationships between the constituents are performed by several evaluation. Finally, the improvement plan is applied to a structure using impact factors for the external effects in order to obtain the improvements reasonably.

정신지체 아동의 보행능력 향상을 위한 보봐스 접근법 : 개별실험연구 (The Bobath Approach for Walking Improvement on Child with Mental Retardation)

  • Purpose : In this case report, we demonstrated the improvement of gait ability on the child who has mental retardation with incomplete gait pattern. Methods : The subject was a 4 years old boy with mental retardation. We applied the Bobath approach to the subject. Treatments included to facilitate trunk alignment and stability, and to train weight bearing and shifting, to facilitate pelvis posterior-anterior movement, and to train walk especially stance phase and assist up-down stairs locomotion in environment similar to actual daily life. It was performed 24 sessions for 12 weeks. Results : With this treatment, he could accomplish dynamic standing stability and he could independent walk at the out door after 12 weeks. In gross motor function measure(GMFM), total motor function was improved to 85.6% from 75.7%. Conclusion : The gait ability of child with mental retardation was improved by using the bobath approach.

  • An 8-degree of freedom mathematical model for the motion of power tiller was developed. The model was designed to predict the motion characteristics under the given field and operating conditions. The simulation model devleoped in this study can be used to characterize the behavior of power tiller and to find ways for potential improvement of power tiller design from the viewpoint of stability increment.

  • In this paper, a control algorithm for the improvement of yaw and velocity stability of electrical vehicle with two or four in-wheel motors is proposed. The vehicle is modeled with independently operative in-wheel motor wheels. Different frictions on the wheels are regarded as disturbances, which causes driving instability. In this situation the proposed algorithm enables stabilizing the yaw motion and velocity of vehicle simultaneously. The proposed PID controller is composed with two techniques, which enhance the disturbance reject and point tracking performances. One is nonlinear gain function and the other one is improved integral controller operating as time based weight function. Simulation is conducted to reveal its efficient performance.
