This study would analyze a survey conducted with 609 workers to use the results as materials for the settlement of safety culture for the characteristics of the establishment by assessing the status of the workers' exposure to harmful risks and the impact on safety culture to present the following conclusions. This study has significance in that it found that exposure to harmful/dangerous factors in the establishment and the workers' experiences of occupational accidents affect their perception of safety culture and that in particular, 'worker safety priority' of the safety cultural factors was an important factor, and it is judged that continuous studies are necessary so that the perceptions of safety culture will spread in the establishment.
A two stage ac drive configuration consisting of a single-phase line commutated rectifier and a three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) is very common in low and medium power applications. The deterministic pulse width modulation (PWM) methods like sinusoidal PWM (SPWM) could not be considered as an ideal choice for modern drives since they result mechanical vibration and acoustic noise, and limit the application scope. This is due to the incapability of the deterministic PWM strategies in sprawling the harmonic power. The random PWM (RPWM) approaches could solve this issue by creating continuous harmonic profile instead of discrete clusters of dominant harmonics. Insufficient filtering at dc link results in the amplitude distortion of the input dc voltage to the VSI and has the most significant impact on the spectral errors (difference between theoretical and practical spectra). It is obvious that the sprawling effect of RPWM undoubtedly influenced by input fluctuation and the discrete harmonic clusters may reappear. The influence of dc link fluctuation on harmonics and their spreading effect in the VSI remains invalidated. A case study is done with four different filter capacitor values in this paper and results are compared with the constant dc input operation. This paper also proposes an ingenious RPWM, a ripple dosed sinusoidal reference-random carrier PWM (RDSRRCPWM), which has the innate capacity of suppressing the effect of input fluctuation in the output than the other modern PWM methods. MATLAB based simulation study reveals the fundamental component, total harmonic distortion (THD) and harmonic spread factor (HSF) for various modulation indices. The non-ideal dc link is managed well with the developed RDSRRCPWM applied to the VSI and tested in a proto type VSI using the field programmable gate array (FPGA).

Product liability (PL), which began enforcement in 2002, refers to the legal responsibility of the manufacturers or sellers (wholesales or retailers) for the property damage or bodily harm caused by their product. With a strong enforcement of the Product Liability (PL) Act, companies are required to structure and operate a response system to defend or prevent product accidents efficiently, but small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are unable to respond more aggressively due to limitation of management resources. In this manner, it is important to develop response strategies for SMEs to efficiently cope with the PL Act. In this paper, the PEST (Political, Economic, Social, and Technological) analysis is performed to reveal the impact of the PL Act on SMEs in macro-economic point of view. To formulate SME's PL response strategy, SWOT analysis is performed to categorize each factors from PEST analysis and AHP is applied to identify the intensities of SWOT factors. The prioritized SWOT factor, results of PEST-SWOT-AHP analysis, are used to formulate SME's PL response strategies. The study results are briefly summarized as follows. To reduce product defects, it is necessary for SMEs to formulate PL response strategies for each phase of the product life cycle by continuously collecting and analyzing PL cases in the same industry or for similar products. In addition, SMEs should invest more technological effort to ensure product safety. Further, SMEs should spread PL awareness to all staff members by training internal PL experts. Moreover, a SME should enroll in PL insurance and spread this information to its customers so that they become aware that the company is proactively conforming to the PL law.

This study considered the change process for Western style shoes in Korea during the time of modernization in the 1920s to 1930s. Western style shoes were one of the items imported by foreigners since the Joseon Dynasty and had a significant impact on Korean dress code. It influence started to spread in the 1900s; however, few high level people wore Western shoes until the 1920s. The trend started to spread through newspaper advertisements and news articles after the mid 1920s. Western shoes such as modern girl and modern boy in the 1930s then entered into Korean culture. Korea under Japanese colonial rule was reorganized on a war footing in the latter half of the 1930s and the main materials for western shoes (cow leather, horse leather and sheepskin) were mobilized as materials for war production; subsequently, new materials using rubber were introduced. The representative material is 'Marine Leather (水産皮革)' and Sharkskin 'Gyoheok (鮫革)' and Whaleskin 'Gyeongpi (鯨皮).' Form is like the material has changed over time. This study also observed the flow of westernized Korean modern shoes as well as analyzed the details of materials and shape of western shoes by period. This represent basic materials to understand the legacy of western shoes in the age; in addition, systemic summary is organized by each kind, shape and materials for each style of western shoes.
Today's wide-spread Internet technology allowed consumers to access much Word-of-Mouth information through an online board. As communication and exchanging information between travelers becomes easier and faster, e-WOM (Electronic Word-of-Mouth) is recognized as one of the most influencing communication methods in today's society. This new trend implies a significant impact to travel industry. This study focuses on interaction between Credibility on e-WOM, brand attitude, WOM acceptance, WOM activity and purchasing intention of travel product. The result of this study suggests: (1) Credibility in e-WOM provides positive effect in brand attitude, (2) Brand Attitude gives positive effect on WOM acceptance, WOM activity and purchasing intention of travel product, (3) WOM acceptance gives positive effect on WOM activity, but it is not effective on purchasing intention of travel product. Regarding e-WOM management of travel agencies through its website or online community, authors would like to argue that travel agencies need to build positive brand attitude based on Credibility in brand, which would lead consumers to positively acknowledge its brand and spread words out to other consumers.
Recently, in several countries including South Korea, the percentage of households having fixed telephones, which is often called the fixed telephone coverage rates, has decreased due to a rapid spread of mobile phones. It is generally assumed that the lower the rates of coverage, resulting in a major frame undercoverage problem, the greater the possibility of the bias. In this paper, we first take a look at the changes of coverage rates in both fixed telephones and mobile phones in South Korea and examine the coverage rates by sociodemographic characteristics of households. Also, we refer to a change in the level of fixed telephone noncoverage and the resulting problems in the situation. Second, we provide a comparison of the coverage rates for households for some European countries, the United States, Canada etc. Finally, we suggest further research to rise to our research environments increasingly troublesome, owing to the wide spread of mobile phones.
This paper investigates factors that have facilitated the rapid diffusion of broadband in South Korea. It finds that the quick spread of broadband access in South Korea is the result of combining the government's strategic ICT policy considering cultural traits, businesses'competitive efforts, and the timely explosion of domestic demand for IT service. This paper also discusses the impact of broadband diffusion on the digital divide. It finds that although there are still regional and age gaps in broadband access, the Korean government and businesses are working to alleviate these problems through various ways from systemic to physical ones. While the deployment of broadband cannot eliminate every issue of the digital divide, broadband access minimizes the digital divide by lowering the barrier to inequitable access to information. This paper concludes with a number of recommendations that address selected policy issues related to the spread of broadband Internet for its successful implementation.
In order to combat the spread of COVID-19, on January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization declared that the spread of COVID-19 has met the criteria of a "Public Health Emergency of International Concern" under Article 1 of the International Health Regulations(2005) and proposed a variety of preliminary recommendations to fight against the pandemic accordingly. All of a sudden, people are ordered to wear face-masks in public-which is forbidden for different reasons in many jurisdictions. Of course, the legal world was hit by the virus as well. Needless to mention that where economic and social life will change so drastically, the legal world will change(ex. virtual hearing) as well. Most probably, it will not ever be the same after COVID-19. And where the whole legal world will change, it is easy to state the obvious, namely that COVID-19 has and will have an impact on international arbitration as well. This paper will describe how international arbitration is dealing with this new challenge.
Three different models have been consecutively employed with the U.S. yield curve and the Korean composite stock price index, firstly to see the coupling between the economies of the U.S. and Korea, secondly to find out the time consumed completing the coupling, and lastly to figure out the impact of the recent U.S. financial crisis on this coupling. This study has, first of all, produced an empirical research outcome which proved the existence of coupling between two countries' economies. The direction of this coupling was consistent with the general expectation that when the yield spread between the U.S. 10-year Treasury Note and the U.S. 3-month Treasury Bill increased which often occurred with better prospects of U.S. economy, the asset price of emerging economies including Korea also rose reflecting the accompanying change in investment atmosphere in favor of risk. It has also found out that the degree of the coupling was maximized with a lag of one week. And finally the recent US financial crisis has been revealed to reduce the degree of the coupling by as much as half in a regression model with a dummy variable.

As the social distance has been strengthened by the COVID-19 Pandemics, telecommuting has spread, and government agencies have also begun telecommuting since March and are still maintaining a certain level. The Government's remote work service, Government Virtual Private Network (GVPN), which is essential to telecommuting of government agencies, is expected to cause a number of problems with the rapid increase in users in a short period of time. Therefore, a survey and statistical analysis were conducted to analyze the impact of the quality factors of GVPN on the users' satisfaction to the public officials of the government departments who are directly using it, and based on these results, we intend to derive the implications necessary for the improvement of GVPN for remote work in preparation for the full-fledged spread of the non-contact era.
