  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the combined effect of L-arginine supplementation and regular physical exercise on HR, BP, eNOS and Macrophage activation using SHR. To examine the differences among HR, BP, eNOS, and Macrophage activity levels, normotensive Wistar-Kyoto rats were used as a control. Thirty two male rats (six weeks old) were divided into four groups; eight WKY control (WKYC), eight SHR control (SHRC), eight SHR supplemented with L-arginine (SHRA), and eight SHR trained and supplemented with L-arginine (SHRTA). Obtained results were as follows : In the heart and blood pressure, there was significant differences anong the four group (p<.05) compare to SHRC. In the eNOS levels, there was significant differences among the four groups (p<.05) compare to SHRC. In the macrophage activity, there was significant differences among the four groups (p<.05) compare to SHRC. In conclusion, For the SHRC group, the level of eNOS is higher than that of WKYC, and we can expect tissue damage caused by toxic free radical. However, this can be stabilized by the L-arginine supplementation and regular physical training. we can also conclude regular aerobic training decrease cardiovascular stress caused by stabled macrophage activity. Therefore, we can trace it is the effect of training in SHR.

  • With today's social and cultural personal interactions, greater leisure time and participation in sports activities, and growing traffic volume, the risk of physical trauma has increased markedly. This is a clinical and retrospective study of patients exposed to oral and maxillofacial trauma. We clinically observed 72 patients with trauma in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Kyunghee University Dental Hospital, from June 2006 through November 2007. The following data was obtained: 1. The male:female ratio of patients having experienced physical trauma was 6.2:1, with most patients in their twenties. 2. Traffic accident (37.5%) was the most common cause of trauma. 3. The highest incidence of fracture occurred to the zygomatic arch(22.1%) among mid-facial fractures and angle(37.5%), symphysis(35.4%) in mandible fractures. 4. Open reduction (88.9%) was the most frequently used form of treatment. Closed reduction was performed on the remaining 11.1% of cases. 5. Teeth and alveolar bone damage occurred in 23.6% of all cases. 6. Other injuries that were related to mid-face fracture occurred in 27.8% of all cases. 7. Post-operative complications occurred in 31.9% of cases, and the highest complication was the nerve injury.

  • The objective of this study is to identify the effects of endurance exercise and selenium on mitochondrial transcription factor in old Goto-Kakizaki (GK) rats. In this experiments, endurance exercise were treadmill-run at 24 m/min, 30 min/day, 5 days/week, 6 weeks and 5 umol/kg of sodium selenite was injected intraperitoneally. In exercise group, selenium group, and combination group, the mitohondrial biogenesis-related genes, including PGC-$1{\alpha}$, NRF-1, and Tfam expression level were significantly increased compared to control group. Consistent with the increased biogenesis-related genes, the cytochrome C in the treated groups, which was the indicator of mitochondrial content, was significantly increased compared to control group. Especially, combination of exercise and selenium may be effective in the increase of mitochondrial biogenesis, activity and insulin sensitivity. Therefore, exercise and selenium treatment is likely to promote diabeticmitochondrial malfunction and then improve diabetes.

  • Purpose: This study was to examine the effects of an exercise program on physical fitness, cardiopulmonary function and life satisfaction for adult women. Method: The exercise program combined dance and resistance training. The subject group consisted of 114 women aged between 33 and 60. Three 8-week sessions consisted of 55-80% HR max for 60-90 minutes a day and 3 times a week from March to November, 2004. Data were collected through pre- and post-exercise tests before and after each session. Data were collected with dynamometer, sphygmomamometer, spirometer and structured questionnaires. Data were analyzed employing descriptive statistics and paired t-test with SPSS/PC(10.0version) program. Results: There were significantly positive changes in muscle strength, flexibility, balance quality, forced vital capacity and life satisfaction, but no significantly positive changes in agility and blood pressure. Conclusion: This study showed that an exercise program has partially positive effects for adult women. The results of this study suggest that there should be programs of continuous exercise at community health centers for adult women's health.

  • This study sought to provide basic data for soccer clubs to establish efficient brand strategies by verifying the structural model and effectiveness between domestic youth soccer club brand identity, value, and loyalty. Therefore, parents of members of youth soccer clubs in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Chungcheong-do were selected as samples, and 372 copies of data were used for the final analysis. Data processing used the SPSS (ver. 21.0) program to analyze frequency and verify reliability. In addition, the brushstrap BC method was applied to verify the effectiveness and significance of confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, structural equation model analysis, and the effectiveness and significance using the AMOS (ver. 20.0). As a result of the study, first, it was found that the brand identity of youth soccer club in Korea had significant effect on value. Second, value had significant influence on loyalty. Third, brand identity had significant influence on loyalty. Lastly, value between brand identity and loyalty showed partial mediated effect.

  • Thyroid hormones are important for the development of the brain including the cerebellum. In the present study, we investigated the effect of treadmill exercise on the survival of Purkinje neurons and the activation of astrocytes in the cerebellar vermis of hypothyroidism-induced rat pups. On the day of perinatal 14, pregnant rats were divided into two groups (n = 5 in each group): the pregnant control group and the pregnantmethimazole (MMI)-treated group. For the induction of hypothyroidism in the rat pups, MMI was added to the drinking water (0.02% wt/vol), from the day of perinatal 14 to postnatal 49. After delivery, male rat pups born from the pregnant control group were assigned to the control group. Male rat pups born from the MMI-treated group were divided into the hypothyroidism-induction group, the hypothyroidism-induction with treadmill exercise group, and the hypothyroidism-induction with thyroxine (T4) treatment group (n = 10 in each group). The rat pups in the exercise group were forced to run on a treadmill for 30 min once a day for 4 weeks, starting on postnatal day 22. In the hypothyroidism-induced rat pups, motor coordination was reduced and Purkinje cell death and reactive astrocytes in the cerebellar vermis were increased. Treadmill exercise enhanced motor coordination, increased the survival of Purkinje neurons, down-regulated reactive astrocytes, and enhanced brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and receptor tyrosine kinase B (TrkB) expressions in the hypothyroidism-induced rat pups. These results suggest that treadmill exercise has beneficial effects in terms of protecting against thyroid dysfunction by increasing T3 and T4 and the related protein, BDNF, as well as TrkB, inhibition on astrocyte activation and the reduction of Purkinje cell loss regarding the cerebellum in hypothyroidism rat pups.

Therefore, people who used domestic futsal fields were selected as samples, and convenience sampling methods were used. The final analysis used 271 copies of data. The data processing was conducted with the SPSS (ver. 21.0) program, which conducted frequency analysis, factor analysis and reliability analysis, correlation analysis, simple and multiple regression analysis. First, the results of the study showed that domestic futsal field selection attributes had a significant impact on customer satisfaction in the order of service, convenience, price, and facility. Second, customer satisfaction had a significant effect on participation intention. Third, the optional attributes had a significant impact on participation intention in the order of facility, service, convenience, and price. Summarizing the above results, it is believed that domestic futsal courts need to provide facilities and services that allow consumers to enjoy futsal games more conveniently and safely.
