공학 기술 기반 개인 디지털 디자인 프로세스를 적용한 컨셉카 개발 (Concept Car Development using Personal Digital Design Process based on Engineering Technology)

  • Every car manufacturer desires to reduce the new car development time spent in improving the safety, NVH, lightweight, reliability and environment friendly features of the car. Other considerations such as planning, exterior and interior styling, packaging, color, and material selection increase the complexity of the car design process. This paper proposes a personal DDP (Digital Design Process) to utilize the engineering analysis and design/styling software for car design. DDP can be efficiently used by a team of car research center or a studio with small number of engineers, helping ordinary engineers becoming ambidextrous in design as well as engineering applications. The concept model starts from idea sketch, rendering, and 3D surface model with CAS (Computer Aided Styling) to the final safety estimation by using proposed DDP based on engineering technology (CAD, CAE). The concept model proposed a hydrogen fuel cell sports coupe which could be available within next 10 years. The proposed DDP can not only reduce the new car development time but also be adapted into designing of varied products such as aircraft, yacht, electrical equipment and sports gear.

차 대 차 정면충돌시험을 통한 상호안전성 연구 (Research on Vehicle Crash Compatibility Through Car to Car Frontal Crash Test)

  • Since 2000, sports utility vehicles(SUVs) occupy about 40% of domestic vehicle sales. As sports utility vehicle sales are increased the probability of crash accident between SUVs and passenger vehicles increases. Generally, SUVs are heavier than passenger vehicles and their drive height and front end stillness are higher than passenger vehicles. Because of these characteristics SUVs cause more severe injury and fatal injury in SUV to passenger vehicle head-on impact. To evaluate SUV's aggessivity to passenger vehicle, we carried out SUV to passenger vehicle head-on crash test. And finally the way how to reduce incompatibility between SUVs and passenger vehicles is suggested.

피로 시 운전 숙련도와 자동차 페달시스템 유형이 운전자의 하지자세에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Different Car Pedal Systems and Driving Skills on Drivers' Lower Extremity Postures during Fatigue)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate drivers' postures in different car pedal systems and skilled levels under fatigue. Twenty four subjects participated in this experiment. For three-dimensional analyses, six cameras (Proreflex MCU-240, Qualisys) were used to acquire raw data. The parameters were calculated and analyzed with Visual-3D. In conclusion, ROAs of two leg-pedal system were less than one leg pedal system by pattern analysis. Through statistical tests, skilled levels have effects on ROAs(X, Y, Z) of ankle joint at breaking a pedal and ROAs(Y, Z) of ankle joint at accelerating a pedal. Also, car pedal systems have effects on ROAs(Y, Z) of ankle joint, and ROA(Z) of knee joint at accelerating a pedal. In addition, skilled levels and car pedal systems (cross effects) have an effect on ROA(Z) of ankle joint. These findings suggested that we should improve a present single pedal system.

  • "The engineering education program for environmental intention and value creation" has been executed from 2008 to 2010 in Suzuka National College of Technology, which program was promoted as "Good Practice for Education" by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Japan. "Eco-car project" is one of these practical ecology/environment education programs. The project's members have been learning and researching the environmental managements by the process of design, manufacturing, and assembly of solar car, highly effective fuel consumption car (Eco-run car), electric vehicle and fuel-cell car. Also this project was supported by some professional experts of the local industries and community. The students learned the actual industrial technique, the engineering management and the structure of local industries by this project. In this paper, the environmental intention engineering design education with local industry collaboration is introduced.

스포츠카의 에어로 파츠 설치에 따른 유동해석 (Flow Analysis according to the Installation of an Aero Part in a Sports Car)

  • In this study, flow analyses of a vehicle at driving were carried out after each installation of a tuning part, specifically the bonnet air ducts, the rear spoiler, and the rear diffuser. The study models were designed to comprise a total of eight cases in which each of the three parts were mounted individually or all together in vehicles. Assuming that the vehicle were driven with an average high speed of 100 km/h, the speed and pressure around the vehicle were obtained using CFD when driving. The rear diffuser that becomes the most effective among the three mounting parts has a major role in reducing air resistance.

자동차 측면 충돌 안전도 평가 분석 (Safety Evaluation of Korean New Car Assessment Program - Side Impact)

  • The number of vehicle accidents related to the side impact has increased since 1990 in Korea, thus the side impact test has been performed as one of the major vehicle evaluations of the Korean New Car Assessment Program(KNCAP) in 2003. A total of 77 vehicles of eight different types(compact, small, semi-midsize, midsize, and large sedans and small, midsize, and large sports utility vehicles) were tested in side impact and side pole impact conditions. In this study, the head and thorax injury values(HICs and chest deflections) of the side impact tests performed between 2003 and 2013 were investigated in terms of vehicle type, test year, and test condition. The recent vehicles showed better safety performances(lower injury values) and similar injury patterns were obtained between side impact and pole side impact tests.

담배 흡연에서 가열담배 사용으로의 단기간 전환에 따른 심장 자율신경 반응 (Short-term Effects of Switching from Cigarette Smoking to Using Heated Tobacco Products on Cardiac Autonomic Regulation)

  • 가열담배(heated tobacco products, HTPs) 에어로졸 내 유해 성분들의 수준은 담배 연기와 비교해 현저히 낮은 것으로 보고되었지만, HTPs 사용이 담배 흡연과 연관된 심혈관 위험을 완화할 수 있는지는 불분명하다. 현재 연구는 습관성 흡연자들을 대상으로 담배 흡연에서 HTPs 사용으로의 단기간 전환이 심장 자율신경조절(cardiac autonomic regulation, CAR)에 미치는 영향을 탐색하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 건강한 20대 남성 흡연자 7명은 5일 동안 담배 흡연(cigaette smoking, CS), 3가지 서로 다른 HTPs 사용(IQOS use, IQ; lil SOLID use, LS; lil HYBID use, LH) 혹은 흡연 중단(non-smoking, NS)으로 구성된 개방표지, 무작위 교차설계 시험을 완료했다. 각 세션은 1주의 세척 기간으로 분리되었으며, 세션당 할당된 제품 사용 전과 사용 후 24, 48, 72, 96 및 120시간에서 생체 이물[CO (carbon monoxide) and COHb (carboxyhemoglobin)], 혈류역학적 변인(systolic and diastolic blood pressure) 및 CAR 조절을 반영하는 HRV (heart rate variability) 지표들의 수준이 평가되었다. 호기 CO 및 COHb 수준은 NS에서만 통계적으로 유의하게 감소했다. 모든 세션 내 혈류역학적 변인에서 통계적 변화는 없었다. 그러나r HRV 스펙트럼 분석에서 lnHF (log-transformed high frequency, lnHF)는 NS를 포함한 IQ와 LS에서 유의하게 증가하였으며, HFnu (normalized HF)는 NS와 LH에서 통계적으로 증가하였다. lnHF와 HFnu는 각각 세션 간 시간에 따른 유의한 상호작용효과를 나타냈다. 현재 연구는 습관성 흡연자들에게서 HTPs 사용으로의 단기간 전환이 담배 흡연에 의한 심장 미주신경 긴장도 저하를 개선하여 CAR에 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사한다.

LASER WELDING APPLICATION IN CAR BODY MANUFACTURING

  • Laser welding application for car body manufacturing has many advantages in the stiffness and the lightness of vehicle, the productivity of assembly line, and the degree of freedom in design. This presentation will express the innovation of car body manufacturing including parameter optimization, process modeling, and system integration. In this application the investment for systems was cut down dramatically by real time switching over the laser path between two welding stations. Points of technical discussion are as follows: optimization of parameters such as laser power, robot speed and trajectory, compact and useful design of jig & fixture to assure welding quality for 3 sheet-layer zinc-coated steel, system integration between 4kW Nd:YAG laser device and the other systems, on-line real time welding quality monitoring system, perfect safety standards for high power laser, minimization of consumption costs such as arc lamp, protective glass for optic, etc. Laser welding has found a place on Hyundai's production plant in conjunction with the startup of mass production of new sports car, and this production system is the result of a collaboration of its engineers. Outer side sheets are joined to inner side sheets by 122 stitch welds totally. And the length is about 2.4meter.
