  • When calculating an intersection collision speed using a formula, it is very difficult to grasp the degree of deceleration of a vehicle after the collision unless there is road surface trace in the entire section where each vehicle moved from the point of collision to their final positions after the collision. A vehicle's motion trajectory shows an irregular curve after a collision due to the effects of inertia based on the driving characteristics of the vehicle, the eccentric force according to the collision site, and the collision speed. Therefore, it is very important to set the appropriate departure angle after a collision for accurate collision speed analysis. In this study, based on experimental collision data using a computer simulation (PC-Crash), the correlation between an appropriate vehicle departure angle and the post-collision speed was analyzed, and then, a regression analysis model was derived. Through this, we propose a method to calculate collision speed by applying only the vehicle departure angle in some types of collisions for traffic accidents at intersections.

  • In order to estimate the launch point of a high-speed vehicle, predicting the various characteristics of the vehicle's movement, such as drag and thrust, must be preceded by the estimation. To predict the various parameters regarding the vehicle's characteristics, we build the IMM filter specialized in predicting the parameters of the post-launch phase based on flight dynamics. Then we estimate the launch point of the high-speed vehicle using Inverse Dynamics. In addition, we assume the arbitrary error level of the radar for accuracy of the prediction. We organize multiple-dimensioned IMM structures, and figure out the optimal value of parameters by comparing the various IMM structures. After deriving the optimal value of parameters, we verify the launch point estimation error under certain error level.

  • Entry speed of the vehicle and lateral acceleration acting on the vehicle, roll-angle associated with the overthrow, and then the structure of the road, the friction of road surface are important factors in turning on the curved road. In this study, we analyzed the state change of the vehicle causing entry speed of the vehicle and superelevation of the road, the friction coefficient by using a PC-crash Program for traffic accident reconstruction. As a result, when vehicle is turning the curved road, we could ascertain that the structure of the road and state of the road surface are a major factor about the set up of limited speed.

  • Vehicle engineering analysis in the event of an accident caused by a car built on mechanical design has not been investigated in-depth but relies on the subjective experience knowledge of the investigator. This study analyzed the correlation between the speed, progress, steering, and braking before impact, which is consistent with the final stop position, by drawing a site situation chart using the CAD (CAD) program and repeating 250 crashes using the PC-Crash program. The following situations were investigated: lower impact velocity; greater impact speed of the vehicle, which is not affected significantly by the departure angle; higher vehicle speed, such as the effective impact velocity, after the impact; higher vehicle speed; and lower vehicle speed. (Ed note: I am unsure what you are saying here. It appears contradictory and not a complete sentence. Please check the changes.)The simulation results of this study identified the process of returning to the magnetic progression lane after recognizing the opposite porter while Mighty was carried out on the uphill left-curve section in a position that crossed the center line, and the collision of the porter's front left side, pushing the porter in the right diagonal direction and making the front stop towards approximately 11 o'clock.

  • Interior noise, engine speed and vehicle speed are measured under road-load condition and interior noise signal is transformed by using the transient signal analysis methods such as the spectrogram and wavelet transform. Using the analyzed results, subjective noise criteria such as the loudness, noisiness and articulation index at each vehicle speed can be estimated and characteristics of interior noise for various running mode can be discussed in the viewpoint of noise quality.

  • This paper presents a robust speed control of an autonomous vehicle using a disturbance observer. For the purpose, the transfer function of speed dynamics of an autonomous vehicle is identified using step response data. Based on the identified transfer function, model based PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control is designed. In order to design a robust control against load variations on the vehicle, a disturbance observer (DOB) based control is devised. The performance of the designed DOB based control is demonstrated by real experiments.

  • Safety of railroad is result of reliability which is received from test & evaluation of system. Railroad system is consisted of various sub system such as vehicle, supply of electric power, signal, communication, rail track construction, operation. To secure safety of railroad, evaluation about parts, assembly, sub system, whole system etc.. that compose railroad is essential. In this paper, I wish to describe for results that analyze korean tilting vehicle's derailment coefficient developed by national research achievement. Confirmed that is possible even if speed up, curved line department running speed that estimate korean tilting vehicle's running safety in curved line track of Jungang Line about 20 km/h than present operating speed.

  • This study examined the Korean drivers' acceptance of SAS(Speed Assistance systems) and traffic sign conditions in Korea roads for SLIF(Speed Limit Information Function) that is a part of SAS. Exceeding the speed limit is a factor in the severity of many road accidents and SAS would help the driver to observe a speed limit by warning and/or effectively limiting the speed of the vehicle. SAS are in the initial phase in Korea, Korean drivers could not be familiar with automatical speed limiting during driving, SAS interface design would be considered to be more readily acceptable to the public. And advanced SAS have been introduced onto the market which are able to inform the driver of the current speed limit based on camera and/or digital maps based SLIF. These systems are based on external data using sensors, so environmental conditions are an important factor which could cause malfunction of SLIF functions.
