  • Over the world, the development of critical technology for the safety and security of coastal distribution based on ubiquitous computing is being processed to meet the bottom lines of governmental regulations. Currently, 3D detectors using X-rays for freight search technology are being developed concerning U-based shipping security systems. In addition to that, there are increasing needs for developing portable radiation detector to detect gamma rays. The purpose of the thesis is to suggest the research of high speed portable gamma rays detector platform to prevent disorder caused to humans and public objects.

  • In this paper, as a study of the simple visible light communication(VLC) with LED light, the visible light communication system that are made up with the $3{\times}3$ white LED array for visible light transmission, various photodiodes for visible light reception, and a non-carrier NRZ-OOK modulation scheme is designed and implemented to have a 115.2 kbps data speed at 2.5 m distance between transmitter and receiver. For the performance analysis of the developed VLC system, the maximum distance between VLC transmitter and receiver on the conditions of various transmission speeds, the number of LED array, or the various kind of LED and photodiode is obtained, and various performances are analyzed by experiments.

  • With the advent of the high-speed microprocessor and DSP, the possibility of executing a control strategy in digital domain has become a reality. By the use of the DSP and microprocessor controller, many high power converters such as especially inverter and motor drive system may be enhanced resulting in the improved robustness to EMI, the ability to communicate the operating conditions and the ease of adjusting the control parameters. But, the digital controller using DSP or microprocessor is not applied in the high frequency switching power supplies, especially full bridge dc/dc converter. So, this paper presents the method and realization of designing a digital-to-phase shift PWM circuit for full digital controlled phase-shifted full bridge dc/dc converter with zero voltage switching. The operating principles, simulation and experimental results will be presented.

  • To reduce drag force at supersonic speeds, sharp leading edge is hugely efficient. It is, however, incompatible with leading edge shape to have fine aerodynamic characteristics at subsonic and transonic speeds. It is critical to reduce drag force for enhanced cruise performance and higher efficiency. An air superiority fighter, however, required to have high maneuverability for survivability, and sharp leading edge is not proper. Consequently, variable leading edge is demanded to reduce drag force significantly at supersonic speeds for cruise performance. Leading edge altering system is constructed with rigid material to improve possibility of realization, and minimized movement of its components in altering for reduce effects on flight. It is compared with bi-convex airfoil and NACA 65-006 airfoil, which have comparable maximum thickness. At Mach number 1.7 and zero angle of attack, supersonic mode of designed airfoil indicates approximately 17% higher drag coefficient than the bi-convex airfoil indicates, it is, however, 23% lower than the NACA 65-006 indicates. Also, subsonic mode of the designed airfoil shows fine aerodynamic characteristics in comparison with NACA 65-006 airfoil in subsonic and transonic speed range. In this regard, design of the airfoil achieved the object of this study satisfactorily.

  • In this research. the diesel cycle was thermodynamically interpreted to evaluate the possibility of high efficiency by converting diesel engines to the high expansion diesel cycle, and general cycle features were analyzed after comparing these two cycles. Based on these analyses. an experimental single cylinder a long stroke with high expansion-diesel engine. of which S/B ratio was more than 3, was manufactured. After evaluating the base engine through basic experiments, a diesel engine was converted into the high expansion diesel engine by establish VCR device and VVT system Accordingly, the high expansion diesel cycle can be implemented when the quantity of intake air is compensated by supercharge and the effective compression ratio is maintained at its initial level through the reduction of the clearance volume. In this case, heat efficiency increased by $5.0\%$ at the same expansion-compression ratio when the apparent compression ratio was 20 and the fuel cut off ratio was 2. As explained above, when the atkinson cycle was used for diesel cycle, heat efficiency was improved. In order to realize high expansion through retarding the intake value closing time, the engine needs to be equipped with variable valve timing equipment, variable compression ratio equipment and supercharged pressure equipment. Then a high expansion diesel cycle engine is realized.

  • Nowadays, the various developments of the CAD/CAM have been coming to realization at an intimidating speed. However, in the field of the aesthetic dentistry, the extremely natural aesthetics must be realized eventually by human hands, and for this purpose, it is considered that the endless challenges and practitioners' own beliefs are necessary. While practitioners are normally exposed to surgical methods of aesthetic restorations via domestic and foreign books and lectures, it appears that there are not many of such necessary information that is summarized for easy understanding by dental technicians. Accordingly, as a result of pondering over this matter for years, the presenter has been devising the 'Esthetic Check List' that is a guideline for the aesthetic restoration practice, and the balanced and harmonious prostheses have been produced based on this guideline. In this presentation, this protocol is introduced.

  • The method for output disturbance estimation is proposed. In this method, output disturbance is estimated from the closed loop system dynamics using the output and control input signals. In the closed-loop output-disturbance estimator, precise system identification is required to reduce estimation error. The realization of estimator was done by the DSP board (DSPl103), and disturbance estimation in various environments was performed: change of rotation speed, media feature and spindle motor with (or without) auto-ball balancing system (ABS). From these experiments, the disturbance characteristics of ODD under various conditions are analyzed, and the desirable servo loop configuration based these results is proposed.

  • Commercial Off The Shelf(COTS) based one-way communication is advantageous in that support a low cost communication and high speed one-way communication. This paper introduce a one-way communication method, and provides a implementation method of one-way communication through modified device driver for COTS NIC. Then, To verify the advantage of the COTS based one-way communication method, We present a sample implementation using Intel 82580 NIC, and present a possibility that can contribute to the realization of one-way communication through experiments on performance and reliability.

  • This paper describes a fully hardware realization of vector controller for the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) using high density field programmable gate mays (FPGA). In the proposed system, the vector controller including vector transformation , PI regulator, position and speed measurement, current measurement, and space vector PWM blocks is implemented in a FPGA using a VHSIC hardware description language (VHDL). The experimental results using a 1.1kW PMSM are provided to show the validity of the proposed system.

  • In this paper, we present a method to improve the torque characteristic of PMSM(Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) and its hardware realization. It is based on the compensation of sinusoidal current delay caused by phase winding inductances. Since coordinate transformation is not used, simple hard-wired logic in the controller design is adopted and this scheme can eliminates the delay through the coordinate transformation. The delay components are varied according to rotation speeds, but this method can also make it possible to compensate those, dynamically. The control scheme has been verified by experiments on a 4-pole 3-phase PMSM, and the generated torques are increased at whole operation speed ranges.
