The purpose of this research was to investigate the relations between resources and conjugal power in Korea, with the specific purpose of testing Rodman's theory that norms and resources operate in a cultural context. The subjects of this study were 268 couples with children who lived in nuclear families and resided in Seoul. Relative conjugal power, norms about role and socioeconomic resources of spouses were measured with questionnaires based on Burr's research. The data were collected from one spouse of each couple. The data were analyzed using the Pearson's Correlation and one-way ANOVA. Results of this study generally supported Rodman's theory but were not consistent with Rodman's speculation that resources are more strongly related to power when norms are more equalitarian than patriarchal.

This study stems from the speculation that consumer life will be limited if consumers are not involved in the cyberspace and focuses on the differences of consumer competence as a result of information gaps among consumers. A cluster analysis is applied for cortege students who are ahead of the rest of the society in terms of the information level. Over the half of the students is grouped as a general level of information, about one quarter of those as an advanced level, and about one tenth as a behind level. The levels of consumer competence are very much differed among the three groups of students. This result indicates that information gap will be another source of consumer problem in an information society. Therefore, much more attention should be focused on the information gaps among consumers.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between thought systems of post-structuralism by Deleuze and digital culture which is the core topic of social and cultural discussion. And this study also aims to grasp the diversity and movable thinking shown in fashion illustration from the aesthetic thought systems of post-structuralism theory by Deleuze. Furthermore, this study intends to ascertain the concrete representation characteristics and its significance of fashion illustration by analyzing works on the basis of the above-mentioned theory. What are discussed in this paper can be summarized as follows First, this study examined the post-structuralism which supplies the theoretic basis for figuring out the principles of diversity and movable thinking. Second, this study examined the relationship between the open structure and movable individuality of Deleuze who is a representative scholar of post- structuralism. Third, this study analyzed the representative characteristics and aesthetic value to which the principles of post-structuralism, derived from the aesthetic theory of Deleuze, was applied.

In this paper, the unbiasedness hypothesis cannot be rejected for JPY. It means that Japanese forward exchange market is efficient. This implies that there would not be an unusual profit from speculation. However, the unbiasedness hypothesis can be rejected for THB, HKD, IDR. It means that Asian forward exchange market is inefficient. This implies that there would be an unusual profit from all available information. This suggests that forward exchange rates cannot be an unbiased estimator of future spot exchange rate. This result explains that the actual pricing for forward rate is not based on the international financial market's pricing mechanism of interest rate parity theory, but rather depends upon that simple market expectations and aspirations.

This study examined teacher's perceptions of the psychosocial adjustment and problem behaviors of institutionalized children compared with home reared children. Data were collected from the teachers of institutionalized children in elementary and secondary schools. The majority of institutionalized children were regarded as not very much different from home reared children. Still, findings from this study lead to conclusions that institutionalization is likely to elevate children's risk for adjustment problems such as social withdrawal, peer violence, and academic failure. Findings that the ratio of institutionalized children attending school decreased with age lead to speculation that failure in psychosocial adjustment may lead to to dropping out of school. Finally, a practical framework for the optimal development of institutionalized children is provided, with emphasis on school-community based interventions.

Close binary stars are so close that one component has an effect on the evolution of the other. But how do they form and evolve? This is an unsolved problem. One speculation is that the binary is a part of a hierarchical triple and its orbit shrinks due to interaction with the third component. Therefore, searching for and investigating tertiary components, especially close-in ones, in close binary stars are important for understanding their origin, as well as to test theories of star formation and stellar dynamical interaction.

There has been a large amount of speculation concerning the differences in the outcomes in patients who have gastric cancer in the Eastern and Western worlds. The differences in biology, surgical and adjuvant treatment have been used to explain such differences. There are clear differences observed in the histology (diffuse vs. intestinal), tumor location (proximal vs. distal), environmental exposures, dietary factors and Helicobacter pylori status. A higher incidence of gastric cancer in the East has led to screening programs, and leading to an earlier stage at presentation. Surgical treatment differs in that the extended lymph node dissection is routinely practiced in the Asian countries. Additionally, different adjuvant therapeutic regimens are used in both regions. The purpose of this review is to describe the differences in both presentation and treatment between the East and the West.

Writing naked put options is a strategy employed either as a speculation to capture premium income, or as a method of placing a limit order to buy the underlying at the strike price in return for premium received. Using a Monte Carlo simulation, twenty thousand equity prices are generated under known volatility and return parameters. A binomial tree is constructed using the same volatility and return parameters. Put options on these 'equities' are valued with the binomial methodology. The performance of various put writing strategies is evaluated on a risk-adjusted basis. Evidence presented suggests that the judicious use of put options may enhance returns during portfolio construction.

The recent speculation fever in Kangnam have been cooled down by the August 31 heavy taxation tool for curbing speculators. Another March 30 real estate control equipped with high capital gains tax up to 50% was targeting reconstruction projects of dilapidated apartment complexes mostly inside of Kangnam area. The shortage of larger unit supply with its high demand results in price polarization problem. It makes higher price for larger units and less price for smaller units, and therefore higher priced home owners become richer and lower priced home owners become poorer. To avoid the polarization problem and anther probable price hikes in the near future, it may be suggested to supply quality homes by loosening the tight rules for the apartment reconstruction project, and thereby kangnam housing price stabilization can be achieved.

The development of remediation technologies in the contaminated coastal area from oil spill is essential for solving environmental disaster. Many countries including USA, France and United Kingdom have tried to make novel remediation techniques and predict oil dispersion in the ocean and coastal line by using their own models. To develop new technology of remediation, this research in advance was carried out the status of domestic and international remediation technologies and tried to suggest future research plan for developing new remediation technologies considering geographical characteristics of Korea peninsula.
