We present detailed studies of externally applicable UHF PD sensors for a metal covered epoxy barrier with a small opening of epoxy injection-hole. The sensors were attached at the surface of injection hole of a metal covered epoxy barrier. 3-Dimensional electro magnetic simulations were performed to analyze electric-field distribution of the GIS and epoxy barrier with injection hole. Sensor structures were designed and analyzed using the 3-D EM simulator then fabricated for experimental verification. Sensor performance was measured in terms of spectral response and detected peak power. Real scale GIS and epoxy barriers were used to test and measure various aspect of performance of the sensors.

Electrogastrography(EGG) has been an attractive method for physiological and pathophysiological studies of the stomach and now is on the verge of becoming a new clinical tool in gastroenterology. In this study 4 channel EGG measurement system was constructed and running spectrum analysis was developed for 2D and 3D display of power spectrum with time and frequency. A wavelet multiresolution method was utilized for elimination of baseline drift and for filtering out noises.

The anthocyanin pigments in the fruit skin of Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolius were extracted with 1% HCl/propanol. The pigments were purified by preparative thin layer and paper chromatography. The major bands in the 2 varieties were identified as pelragonidin-3-monoglucoside by chromatographic, spectrophotometric and high performance liquid chromatographic methods. The possibility of the anthocyanin acylation was not studied in this report. One of minor red band found in the Panax ginseng (not identified) was missing in the Panax quinquefolius.

From the root of Rhamnella frangulioides(=Microrhamnus frangulioides), three compounds (Comp. I ; $mp\;140{\sim}142^{\circ},\;Comp.\;II\;;\;mp\;196^{\circ},\;Comp.\;III\;;\;mp\;136{\sim}138^{\circ})$ were isolated by silica gel column chromatographic purification which were identified as ${\beta}-sitosterol$, chrysophanol, 1-methyl-2-carboxymethyl-3-methoxy-4,8-dihydroxy andthraquinone, respectively by spectral analysis.

From the Paeoniae Radix, gallic acid methyl ester, (+)-catechin, paconiflorin, albiflorin, paeonol, ${\beta}-sitosterol$ and campesterol, benzoic acid, oleanolic acid, hederagenin and ${\beta}-sitosterol$ 3-O-glucoside were isolated and characterized by means of spectral data. Oleanolic acid and hederagenin have been isolated for the first time from the genus Paeonia.

Essential oil of the root of Angelica decursiva(Miq.) Fr. et Sav. (Umbelliferae) was investigated. Essential oil was obtained from the dried roots by steam distillation and fractionated by column chromatography. Each isolate or fraction was identified by GC, GC-MS and spectral analysis. It was found to contain ten monoterpenes such as ${\alpha}-pinene$ (7.0%) etc. Three hydrocarbons, two aldehydes, three sesquiterpenes, two sesquiterpene alcohols, one aromatic compounds, one ketone, isobonyl acetate and two lactones were tentatively identified.

A series of long chain N-acyl amino acid type anionic surfactants were prepared by treating fatty acid chlorides with three kinds of amino acids, that is, sodium N-acyl-sarcosinates, sodium N-acyl-N-methyl-${\beta}$-alaninates and sodium N-acyl-N-methyl-taurates in an alkaline solution. All prepared biodegradable surfactants were purified by thin layer chromatography and column chromatography, and identified their structures by spectral analysis.

The macrocyclic nickel complex of the molecular formula[Ni($C_{32}H_{26}N_4$)] has been synthesized from the template condensation reaction between 1-benzoylacetone and o-phenylenediamine in the presence of nickel acetate. Protonation and deuterium exchange reactions of the demetallated macrocyclic ligand and the nickel complex have been carried out. The infrared, electronic and proton magnetic resonance spectral data of both compounds are compared and discussed; protonation of the macrocyclic ligand take place at the nitrogen atoms and all the amine protons undergo very rapid deuterium exchange while the methine protons undergo very slow exchange. On the other hand, protonation of the nickel complex occurs at the nitrogen atoms and only amine protons undergo rapid deuterium exchange. Protonation and deprotonation of the nickel complexes proceed reversibly.

Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) spectroscopy has been applied to study the supersonic jet of radicals of nitric oxide (NO) and atomic iodine produced in the flash pyrolysis of precursors n-butylnitrite (CH₃(CH₂)₃ONO) and allyl iodide (C₃$H_5$I), respectively. The systematic population analysis with spectral simulations demonstrates that the precursors are efficiently pyrolyzed and that radical beams show a substantial supersonic cooling. In addition, absence of local equilibrium was observed in the distributions of two electronic spin-orbit states ²Π$_{1/2}$ and ²Π$_{3/2}$ of NO products and can be rationalized in terms of the efficiency of collision-induced energy transfer rates.

In this paper, authors investigate and analyze the effects of the anti-rolling tank which are calculated in accord with the tank damping coefficients by the computer, and which are represented with both the tank water's saturating state and the normal state in the irregular waves by analog computer. As the results of these studies, we immediately find that the tank optimum damping coefficient $b_{to}$, is 0.3877 due to calculating $\mu$-values, analyzing and comparing inclinations of $\mu$-values, and that although a nonlinear elements are included in the response character of the ship-tank system, the output is no longer Gaussian distribution, even when the sea waves are considered as Gaussian, and can not be expressed by the spectral forms which premise the superposition theory.
