국내 태양에너지 자원의 재평가 (Revaluation of Solar Radiation Resources in Korea)

  • The domestic solar radial ion data have been measured at 16 different sites all over the country since the beginning of 1980. It is very important that the fundamental data for the estimation and assessment of local solar radiation can be secured this project. In order to estimate available energy resource from solar radiation, it is necessary to have enough data, more than 30 years In any country. However since we have collected solar radiation(global radial ion including direct normal radiation) data only for 10 years we still need to measure insolation to secure the reliability and standardization of measured local solar radial ion data. In brief, the major activities on this R&D include rout me maintenance of the national network for insolation data measurement, evaluation of the collected data, and reliability enhancement for assessing the quality of solar radiation data as well.

  • 저전송률 오디오 부호화기의 성능 향상을 위해 가변 LPC 기반으로 스펙트럼을 평탄화 하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 대역별 scale factor를 동일하게 하여 비트 효율을 증가시키고 spectral hole이 발생하는 문제점을 해결할 수 있다. 또한, 가변 LPC 필터를 사용하여 프레임 특성에 따라 스펙트럼 평탄화 강도를 가변적으로 조절하여 성능 향상을 제공한다. 제안한 방법이 일반 LPC 필터 방법보다 저대역의 부호화 성능을 향상시키고 스테레오 왜곡을 감소시키는 것을 확인하였다.

새로운 서브밴드 추정-스펙트럼 차감법에 기반한 음성향상방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Speech Enhancement Method Based on the New Spectral Subtraction with Subband Estimation)

  • 이 논문에서는, 잡음환경에서의 음성 향상을 위해서 일반적인 주파수 차감법에 기반한 새로운 형태의 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 방법들이 각각의 주파수 성분에 대해 잡음 및 음성스펙트럼을 추정하는데 비해, 본 논문에서는 주파수 대역을 여러 개의 서브밴드로 대역을 나누어 각각의 서브밴드에 대해서 잡음 및 음성의 스펙트럼을 추정한다. 본 논문에서는 잡음 스펙트럼을 추정하기 위하여 최소추적(Minima Tracking) 방법을 선택하였고, 필터링 방법으로는 스펙트럼 차감법에 기반한 Mel-Scaled 필터뱅크를 이용한 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 모의실험결과, 기존의 방법들에 비해 음성구간에서의 SNR의 향상정도는 입력 SNR이 -10∼4dB의 범위에서 향상된 결과를 얻었다. 또한 전 구간에 대해서도 다른 알고리즘들 보다 향상된 결과를 얻었다.

  • In this paper, The Split Model Analysis Algorithm, which can generate the wideband speech signal from the spectral information of narrowband signal, is developed. The Split Model Analysis Algorithm deals with the separation of the 10$\^$th/ order LPC model into five cascade-connected 2$\^$nd/ order model. The use of the less complex 2$\^$nd/ order models allows for the exclusion of the complicated nonlinear relationships between model parameters and all the poles of the LPC model. The relationships between the model parameters and its corresponding analog poles is proved and applied to each 2$\^$nd/ order model. The wideband speech signal is obtained by changing only the sampling rate.

  • 립리딩은 잡음 환경 하에서 음성 인식 성능을 향상을 위해 영상정보를 이용한 바이모달(bimodal)음성인식으로 연구되었다[1][2]. 그 일환으로 이미 영상정보를 이용한 립리딩은 구현되었다. 그러나 현재까지의 시스템들은 환경의 변화에 강인하지 못하다. 본 논문에서는 이미지 기반 립리딩 방법을 적용하여 입술 영역을 보다 안정적으로 찾아 성능을 향상 시켰다. 그러나 이 방법은 많은 데이터량을 처리해야 하므로 전처리 과정이 필요하다. 전처리로 입력영상을 그레이 레벨로 변환하는 방법과, 입술을 반으로 접는 방법, 그리고 주성분 분석(PCA: Principal Component Analysis)을 사용하였다. 또한 인식성능 향상을 위해 음성에서 잡음 제거나 분석$\cdot$합성에 효과적인 성능을 보이는 RASTA(Relative Spectral)필터를 적용하여 시간 영역에서의 변화가 적은 성분이나 급변하는 성분, 그 밖의 잡음 등을 제거하였다. 그 결과 $72.7\%$의 높은 인식 성능을 보였다.

Rapid Analysis of Melamine Content in Powdered and Liquid Milk Using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy

  • Melamine is a chemical intermediate to manufacture amino resins and plastics, which cannot be used as food additive since it can cause kidney stones. A qualitative determination method of melamine residue in powdered and liquid milk was developed using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic technique. The calibration sets consisted of 21 standard melamine solutions, in which 1% trichloroacetic acid aqueous solution and acetonitrile (3:1, v/v) were used as solvent. The model was validated using 10 standard melamine solutions which were unused to build up the calibration set. Infrared (IR) absorbance peaks specific to almost all chemical groups in melamine molecule were shown in the spectral range between 1,100 and 1,800/cm. Combined partial least squares (PLS)-$2^{nd}$ derivative calibration model coupled with mean centering (MC) mathematical enhancement showed the highest correlation coefficients ($R^2$>0.99). In brief, the FTIR technique can be used for quantitative analysis of melamine in milk samples.

  • We have developed a practical Brillouin active fiber ring sensor of length less than 20m, by employing an optical amplifier to compensate for most of the connection losses in the ring. The loss reduction brings the standard Brillouin threshold from 21 down to 0-0.1 through the enhancement of the finesse of the ring. However, in the course of our experiments, some level of temporal instability and chaotic behavior in the backscattered Stokes intensity and also in its spectral line shift were consistently observed.   • Ultrafast deep-ultraviolet (DUV) pulse generation from the subwavelength aperture of a plasmonic waveguide was investigated. The plasmonic nanofocusing of near-infrared (NIR) pulses was exploited to enhance DUV photoemission of surface third harmonic generation (STHG) at the amorphous $SiO_2$ dielectric. The generated DUV pulses which are successfully made from a nano-aperture using 10 fs NIR pulses have a spectral bandwidth of 13 nm at a carrier wavelength of 266 nm. This method is applicable for tip-based ultrafast UV laser spectroscopy of nanostructures or biomolecules

Effect of Sunlight Polarization on the Absorption Efficiency of V-shaped Organic Solar Cells

  • We numerically investigate the effect of sunlight polarization on the absorption efficiency of V-shaped organic solar cells (VOSCs) using the finite element method (FEM). The spectral distribution of absorbance and the spatial distribution of power dissipation are calculated as a function of the folding angle for s-and p-polarized light. The absorption enhancement caused by the light-trapping effect was more pronounced for s-polarized light at folding angles smaller than $20^{\circ}$, where s-polarized light has a relatively larger reflectance than p-polarized light. On the other hand, the absorption efficiency for p-polarized light is relatively larger for folding angles larger than $20^{\circ}$, where the smaller reflectance at the interface of the VOSC is more important in obtaining high absorption efficiency.

Enhanced Raman Spectrum of Juglone on Ag Surface: Is It a Simile to That of Lawsone?

  • The surface enhanced Raman spectrum of juglone, a traditional natural dye, has been observed by a custom-built micro-Raman setup. The spectral features of juglone significantly differ from those of lawsone, a structural isomer of juglone; only small red shifts of the double bond stretching bands are observed, and strong SERS bands are observed in the lower frequency regions as well. The DFT computations reveal that juglone coordinated to an $Ag^+$ adatom with $H^+$ release best correlates with the observed vibrational characteristics in the SERS spectrum among the plausible configurations of juglone coordinated to an adatom on the Ag surface, in line with the previously studied lawsone case. The differences in the SERS spectra of juglone and lawsone are attributed to the different locations of the hydroxyl group in the two isomers.
