Performance Scalability of SPEC CPU2000 Benchmark over CPU Clock Speed (CPU 주파수 속도에 대한 SPEC CPU2000 성능 변화)

  • SPEC CPU2000 is an widely used benchmark program, both in industry and in academy, for measuring compute-intensive performance of computer systems with various architectures. However, there has been little effort to investigate its characteristics with respect to hardware components. This paper presents the performance scalability of SPEC CPU2000 benchmark over CPU clock speed. For an Intel x86-based system running at various clock speed, we measure the performance of SPEC CPU2000 benchmark, and analyze the characteristic of SPEC CPU2000 in a system aspect. In the experiment, we found that the overall performance of SPEC CPU2000 increases monotonically and linearly as the CPU clock speed increases and that the scale efficiencies of SPEC CPU2000 component benchmarks are quite evenly distributed.

Web-based SpecCharts Specification Environment for HW/SW Codesign (HW/SW 통합설계를 위한 웹 기반의 SpecCharts 기술 환경)

  • In this paper, we propose a Web-based HW/SW Codesign Environment with Distributed Architecture (WebCEDA), then design and implement SpecCharts Specification Environment(ScSE) for specifying systems in WebCEDA. WebCEDA has 3-tier client/server architecture than can remedy disadvantages of existing codesign tools, such as platform dependency, difficulty of extension, absence of collaboraton environment. ScSE includes web interface, SpecCharts editor, HW/SW codesin application sever and SpecCharts translator. To verify the operation of ScSE, we specify several example system using SpecCharts editor, then translate it to VHDL using SpecCharts translator and simulate the translated VHDL codes on synopsys. As the results, we know that ScSE has correct operations, also obtain the following advantages, the reduction in system complexity and the natural abstract design.

  • 본 논문에서는 시스템 성능 향상에 상대적으로 많은 영향을 미치는 CPU 주파수 속도의 변화에 따른 SPEC CPU2000 벤치마크 프로그램의 성능의 변화를 고찰한다. x86 기반의 단일 프로세서 시스템에서 서로 다른 주파수의 CPU를 사용하여 SPEC CPU2000 벤치마크 프로그램의 성능을 측정함으로써 SPEC CPU2000벤치마크 프로그램의 특성을 시스템 적 측면에서 해석하였다. 실험을 통하여 SPEC CPU2000 벤치마크 프로그램의 성능은 CPU 주파수 속도의 변화를 유연하게 반영할 수 있도록 그 의존도가 고르게 분포되어 있음을 알 수 있다.

The Proposal of a Size-Spec. for Adult Women (성인 여성의 정면 체형별 사이즈 스팩의 제안)

  • Abstract The purpose of this study was to propose a new size-spec. which was applied to four frontal bodytype -X, Y, A and H type-of adult women. Control dimensions of the upper garments were stature bust girth and hip girth. And those of lower garments were waist girth and hip girth. To establish the interval of the control dimensions means and standard deviations were used. By distributing the data of 486 subjects a new size-spec. was proposed. According to the new size-spec. in case of upper garments about 45.7% of subjects were covered by 37 size-speces. and lower garments about 85.9% were covered by 36 The strong point of new size-spec. is to consider the formal feature of each bodytypes. So by trying to apply the new size-spec. to rady-made garments comfort and fitness of those are satisfied.

  • Let D be an integral domain with Spec(D) finite, K the quotient field of D, [D,K] the set of rings between D and K, and SFc(D) the set of semistar operations of finite character on D. It is well known that |Spec(D)| ${\leq}$ |SFc(D)|. In this paper, we prove that |Spec(D)| = |SFc(D)| if and only if D is a valuation domain, if and only if |Spec(D)| = |[D,K]|. We also study integral domains D such that |Spec(D)|+1 = |SFc(D)|.

  • The set of all prime L-fuzzy ideals of an ADL A with truth values in a frame L is topologized and the resulting space is denoted by 𝓕L Spec (A), called fuzzy Stone space of A. Certain properties of the space 𝓕L Spec (A) are discussed, and it is proved that 𝓕L Spec (A) is homeomorphic with the product space Spec (A) × Spec (L).

  • Three-dimensional (3D) design data is used for various purposes throughout the life cycle of a plant construction project. Plant 3D CAD systems support 3D modeling based on specs-catalogs, which contain data that are used for different purposes such as design, procurement, production, and handover. Therefore, it is important to share the spec-catalog data in the 3D design model with other application systems. Sharing this data thus requires a system that extracts spec-catalog data from plant 3D CAD systems and converts them into neutral model data. In this paper, we analyze equipment spec-catalog data of plant 3D CAD systems and, based on these analyses, define the data structure for neutral spec-catalog data. We subsequently propose a procedure that translates native spec-catalog data to neutral model data and develop a prototype system that performs this operation. The proposed method is then experimentally validated for the test spec-catalog data.

On English Non-DP Subjects and their Structural Position (영어 non-DP 주어의 구조적 위치)

  • This paper discusses so called the non-DP subject constructions in English. In general, a subject is a DP that bears Nominative case and that occupies 〔Spec, IP〕. However, in some examples under investigation, it looks as if non-DP categories such as Prepositional Phrases(PP), Adjectival Phrases(AP), Adverbial Phrases (AdvP), Small Clauses (PreP or SC), and VP occupy the canonical subject position, 〔Spec, IP〕. Under the framework of Chomsky's (1993, 1995) along with his previous works (Chomsky 1981, 1986), the Case Checking mechanism undoubtedly assumes that only DPs can have Case Therefore, the Case Checking/Agree mechanism is stated such that the strong uninterpretable feature, in this case Case feature (D or NP) feature must be checked off in a certain manner. Therefore, any phrasal categories other than DPs are not included in the considerations. Nonetheless, there are many instances of non-DP categories in English that occupy the seemingly canonical subject position, 〔spec, IP〕. In this paper, it is proposed that the actual position of these non-DP subjects in English is not in Spec of IP. Rather, they occupy 〔Spec, TopP〕 under CP in the sense of Lasnik & Stowell (1991), Rizzi (1997), and Haegeman & Gueron (1999). In its effect, therefore, this paper extends the idea of Stowell (1981) who argues that the clausal subjects in English is not in 〔Spec, IP〕, but in 〔Spec, TopP〕. We further argue that Stowell's version of Case Resistance Principle must be extended in order to accomodate many more occurrences of so called non-DP subjects.

  • For a few recent years, KECA(Korea Electrical Contractor Association) has promoted a project to establish an electrical construction specification called Master Spec. This paper analyses the characteristics of standards-making process of the Master Spec. as an umbrella technical standard in electrical construction industry in Korea. This paper argues that even if the Master Spec. is recognized to be technical standards, the standards-making process involves both technical and social practices when viewed from social construction theory and governance perspective. This aspect of social practices in technical standards making should be well understood because various stakeholders in terms of interests, resources, and motives try to influence the process positively and negatively. KECA in responsible for enactment of the Mater Spec. should be very thoughtful in building consensus first of all among electrical contractors, managing relationship with concerned government officials, and dealing with potential deviant groups as well as in pooling expertises and developing technical knowledge needed for designing technical specification.

SPEC: Space Efficient Cubes for Data Warehouses (SPEC : 데이타 웨어하우스를 위한 저장 공간 효율적인 큐브)

  • An aggregation query computes aggregate information over a data cube in the query range specified by a user Existing methods based on the prefix-sum approach use an additional cube called the prefix-sum cube(PC), to store the cumulative sums of data, causing a high space overhead. This space overhead not only leads to extra costs for storage devices, but also causes additional propagations of updates and longer access time on physical devices. In this paper, we propose a new prefix-sum cube called 'SPEC' which drastically reduces the space of the PC in a large data warehouse. The SPEC decreases the update propagation caused by the dependency between values in cells of the PC. We develop an effective algorithm which finds dense sub-cubes from a large data cube. We perform an extensive experiment with respect to various dimensions of the data cube and query sizes, and examine the effectiveness and performance ot our proposed method. Experimental results show that the SPEC significantly reduces the space of the PC while maintaining a reasonable query performance.
