  • The expansion of open education and the 7th revision of educational curriculum have brought big changes in the school facilities. In response to the integrated curriculum for the first and second grades of elementary school, various plans, such as open classroom, expanded classroom size, and the installation of multi-purpose space, have been attempted. However, such plans have appeared in the form of an open classroom--a uniform spatial composition. As a result, a plan for unit learning space to support the educational curriculum and activities for low grade levels is still insufficient. In the case of advanced countries, a lot of studies on space are being actively conducted to develop the creativity of children and to facilitate free-style learning, and such space is actually applied to a real educational environment. Therefore, this study will analyze the spatial composition of unit learning space for low grade level elementary schools in Korea. From the cases of advanced countries, a more concrete proposal will be suggested to diversify unit learning space for low grade levels.

Evaluation of spatial pressure distribution during ice-structure interaction using pressure indicating film

  • Understanding of 'spatial' pressure distribution is required to determine design loads on local structures, such as plating and framing. However, obtaining a practical 'spatial' pressure distribution is a hard task due to the sensitivity of the data acquisition frequency and resolution. High-resolution Pessure-Idicating Flm (PIF) was applied to obtain pressure distribution and pressure magnitude using stepped crushing method. Different types of PIF were stacked at each test to creating a pressure distribution plot at specific time steps. Two different concepts of plotting 'spatial' pressure-area curve was introduced and evaluated. Diverse unit pixel size was chosen to investigate the effect of the resolution in data analysis. Activated area was not significantly affected by unit pixel size; however, total force was highly sensitive.

  • The U-Net architecture-based segmentation models attained remarkable performance in numerous medical image segmentation missions like skin lesion segmentation. Nevertheless, the resolution gradually decreases and the loss of spatial information increases with deeper network. The fusion of adjacent layers is not enough to make up for the lost spatial information, thus resulting in errors of segmentation boundary so as to decline the accuracy of segmentation. To tackle the issue, we propose a new deep learning-based segmentation model. In the decoding stage, the feature channels of each decoding unit are concatenated with all the feature channels of the upper coding unit. Which is done in order to ensure the segmentation effect by integrating spatial and semantic information, and promotes the robustness and generalization of our model by combining the atrous spatial pyramid pooling (ASPP) module and channel attention module (CAM). Extensive experiments on ISIC2016 and ISIC2017 common datasets proved that our model implements well and outperforms compared segmentation models for skin lesion segmentation.

  • The recent change of social environment has influence on the configuration of space for the community social welfare center. And so the relation of space and the service function required the change of spatial configuration. The social welfare center fills the role of family welfare, domiciliary care, community service etc. In such sense, this research explore the conditions of spatial configuration for the community welfare service unit of social welfare center in small city. For this study, it was investigated the space role and service function, the service program, the usage characteristics, the room satisfaction of social workers. In sum, the useful data were collected, analyzed, and colligated by case study. It could be used in the basic design criteria of community service unit for the social welfare center in small city.

  • The Space structures may have large freedom in scale and form. And especially Hybrid structures are received much attention from the view points of their light weight and aesthetics. Hybrid systems are stable structures which are reticulated spatial structures composed of compressive straight members, struts and cables and Membranes. In this paper, The Hybrid Unit System are suggested using the Membrane and Cable elements based on the Tensegrity Unit system. Also, The Hybrid System of double-layered single curvature is presented. We analyze the force density method allowing form-finding for Tensegrity systems. And We analyze the shape analysis by the LARSH which is the program for nonlinear analysis.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate unit care characteristics of large skilled nursing facilities for the elderly, which are located in city areas, and to discuss the way of encouraging home-like atmosphere in perspective of spatial unit. First of all, the analysis of five facilities opened before 2002 was performed, based on previous studies, to compare with them opened in recent 5 years. Most of the previous facilities did not have differentiation between their residential and nursing units, and the number of residents in each unit were excessive in comparison with the standard limit(12-28). On the contrary, the facilities established in recent 5 years had systematic spatial unit structure. The residential units had basically rooms and spaces for small group and the number of elderly residents per unit was appropriate on the basis of standard limit which was suggested by Kwon(2002). The nursing units were consist of nursing station, 2-3 residential units, spaces for large group of residents, hair dressing, nurse, living assistant, bathing, storage and etc. But, there was a problem In space usage even though they have distinct unit care systems. Some spaces for groups were empty without residents, furniture, and other equipments, which were necessary for unit care.

외기인접방식에 따른 아파트 단위평면 특징에 관한 연구(I) (A Study on the Characteristics of the Apartment unit Plans According to the Outdoor Adjacency Methods (I))

  • This paper call attention to the characteristics of apartment unit plans as to the outdoor adjacency methods. My arguments will attempt to investigate spatial composition and each room sizes of the unit plans. So far, very little has been done in this direction. I will limits myself to study 573 plans which have been designed from 1996 till 2003. What emerges from this analysis is that these samples divided 3 types derived from the outdoor adjacency methods. Type 1 limits itself to 39 square meters unit plans. Type 2 was distributed from 49 square meters to 200 square meters with the exception of 100-110 square meters. And, type 3 ranges from 59 to 160 square meters. Therefore, it could be profitable each room's environmental condition (daylight, ventilation and etc) and diverse apartment building types to design in extent 49-160 square meters.

폭우 취약성 지표를 활용한 재해취약지구 분석 (Analysis of Disaster Vulnerable Districts using Heavy Rainfall Vulnerability Index)

  • 기후변화에 대한 재해취약성을 개선하기 위하여 각종 재해에 대한 재해취약성분석 매뉴얼이 제시되어 있으나, 공간단위, 재해취약성 등급 그리고 기후적 요소의 조건에 따라 재해취약성 분석 결과는 상당한 영향을 받게 된다. 본 연구에서는 도시 기후변화 재해취약성 분석 중 폭우재해만을 대상으로 하여 집계구 이외의 읍 면 동단위의 공간단위와의 상대적 평가를 수행하였으며, 4등급 단계로 획일화되어 있는 자연적 분류법을 2등급 단계, 4등급 단계, 6등급 단계로 점차 확대해감으로써 분류단계에 따른 취약지구의 상대적 변화를 분석하였다. 그리고 2가지로 한정되어 있는 강우특성에 대하여 기왕최대강우량(10분, 60분, 24시간)을 추가하여 강우특성에 따른 지표별 재해취약지구의 상대성을 파악하고자 하였다. 폭우 취약성 지표에 따른 상대적 평가 결과 공간단위에 따라서 재해취약지구의 면적비는 차이를 보이고 있으며, 상관분석 결과 집계구와 읍 면 동단위의 공간분석은 일치하지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 또한 재해취약성 등급단계, 강우특성의 지표에 따른 재해취약지구의 면적비가 상대적으로 차이를 많이 보이는 것을 알 수 있다. 이는 분석 지표에 따른 재해취약지구의 영향이 상대적으로 크게 나타나는 것으로 판단되며, 분석지표 설정 시 세밀한 지표의 선정이 필요할 것으로 여겨진다.
