  • In this study, the spatial relevance between the regional housing price data and the spatial distribution of the location-based social media data is explored. The spatial analysis with rasterization was applied to this study, because the both data have a different form to analyze. The geo-tagged Twitter data had been collected for a month and the regional housing price index about sales and lease were used. The spatial range of both data includes Seoul and the some parts of the metropolitan area. 2,000m grid was constructed to consider the different spatial measure between two data, and they were combined into the constructed grids. The Hotspot Analysis was operated using the combined dataset to see the comparison of spatial distribution, and the bivariate spatial correlation coefficients between two data were measured for the quantitative analysis. The result of this study shows that Seocho-gu area is detected as a common hotspot of tweet and housing sales price index data. though the spatial relevance is not detected between tweet and housing lease price index data.

  • Spatial planning, is required to be conceptualized corresponding to the shifts in planning paradigm through logical and systematic approaches. The concept of planning, thus, should be considered in terms of not only the planning discipline but also the planning activities or practices. This study aims to review and examine the concept of spatial planning based on the different approaches of planning and analyze the difference between land use planning, then review a meaning of spatial planning in terms of its dimensions. The research range will be limited to only the concept of spatial planning and survey was carried on through collecting the secondary research data by literature reviews and both descriptive and comparative approaches will be applied concurrently. The key findings of the study can be found as follows: Firstly, spatial planning has been reviewed with regard to theoretical, practical and integrated approaches. Secondly, the concept of spatial planning has been examined in terms of definitions, dimensions and analysis criteria and then analyzed conceptual differences compared with traditional land use planning. Finally, a meaning of spatial planning has been highlighted based on the dimensions of spatial planning, such as future visions, policy toolbox, sustainable development and inclusivity.

  • Since remotely sensed images of coastal wetlands are very sensitive to spatial resolution, it is very important to select an optimum resolution for particular geographic phenomena needed to be represented. Scale is one of the most important factors in spatial analysis techniques, which is defined as a spatial and temporal interval for a measurement or observation and is determined by the spatial extent of study area or the measurement unit. In order to acquire the optimum scale for a particular subject (i.e., coastal wetlands), measuring and representing the characteristics of attribute information extracted from the remotely sensed images are required. This study aims to explore and analyze the scale effects of attribute information extracted from remotely sensed coastal wetlands images. Specifically, it is focused on identifying the effects of scale in response to spatial resolution changes and suggesting a methodology for exploring the optimum spatial resolution. The LANDSAT TM image of Sunchon Bay was classified by a supervised classification method, Six land cover types were classified and the Kappa index for this classification was 84.6%. In order to explore the effects of scale in the classification procedure, a set of images that have different spatial resolutions were created by a aggregation method. Coarser images were created with the original image by averaging the DN values of neighboring pixels. Sixteen images whose resolution range from 30 m to 480 m were generated and classified to obtain land cover information using the same training set applied to the initial classification. The values of Kappa index show a distinctive pattern according to the spatial resolution change. Up to 120m, the values of Kappa index changed little, but Kappa index decreased dramatically at the 150m. However, at the resolution of 240 m and 270m, the classification accuracy was increased. From this observation, the optimum resolution for the study area would be either at 240m or 270m with respect to the classification accuracy and the best quality of attribute information can be obtained from these resolutions. Procedures and methodologies developed from this study would be applied to similar kinds and be used as a methodology of identifying and defining an optimum spatial resolution for a given problem.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze characteristics such as spatial composition, areas, location of functional unit space and comparing the type and the number of operating programs by type of managements of multipurpose senior center in Youngnam metro area. first, the consignation management facilities had functional unit space of 152 things and the direct management facilities had 115 things. When comparing average areas composition ratio, direct management is public welfare, social education, public part, medical and rehabilitation order and consignation management is public part, social education, public welfare and rest part order. Second, medical part must be located around the first floor or the elevator, because many people can frequently use this area at the same time. Third, as a result of analysis of management programs indicated that the total number of programs is as a whole 74 things a range of $min12\~max20$ in the each direct management facilities and 111 things a range of $min20\~max24$ in the each in the each consignation management facilities. This fact shows that consignation management provided many people with more various programs than direct management. Finally, the number of staff in the direct management is less than consignation management. When comparing programs per staff and space, the direct and consignation management each appeared (2.74, 0.64) and (1.35, 0.73). This fact implied that the consignation management was more specialized than direct management in the service and function.

  • This study aims to investigate the changes in area ratios by space through floor plans of national leasing houses constructed by the LH in Jangseong-gun, particularly focusing on the floor plans of public leasing housing complexes built during the 1970s-80s and those during the 2010s. The results are as follows: First, according to the composition ratio of floor plans by period, the type of Bedroom> Livingroom> Common Area> Kitchen+Dining> Multi-purpose room> Bathroom> or the type of Bedroom> Livingroom> Kitchen/Dining> Common Area> Bathroom> Multi-purpose room were found to be high during the 1970s. Whereas, the type of Common Area>Living room(Kitchen/Dining included)>Bedroom>Bathroom>Front Entrance was found to be high during the 2010. It can be concluded that the ratio of Bedroom and Living room was found to be high during the 1970s, but after 2010s, the spacial composition ratio of Common Space, Living room, and Bedroom is getting higher in the order. Second, in terms of the composition ratio of floor plans by the area of unit household, among the floor plan of C-1, B-2, B-3, C-2 which were used since 2010s, the spatial ratio of Bedroom was maintained in the range of 20%; while during the 1970s, the Bedroom space of A-1(46%), A-2(46%), and A-3(41%) was found to be higher than 40%. It can be concluded that the size of bedroom space has doubled over time. In terms of the changes in the spatial ratio of Living room, A-1(15%), A-2(22%), and A-3(23%) were found during the 1970s. Compared to the recent floor plans of C-1(28%), B-2(25%), B-3(33%), and C-2(34%) which are applied in Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do province, no big changes have been found, particularly in the small floor plans (20% range).

  • Intraseasonal variability of the tropical convection over the Indian/western Pacific is studied using the Geostationary Meteorological Satellite high cloud amount. This study is directed to find the tropical-extratropical interaction in the frequency range of intraseasonal and interannual variabilities of the summer monsoon occured over the domain of 90E-171W and 495-50N. Especially, in order to investigate the intraseasonal interaction of last Asia summer monsoon associated with the tropical convections in the high cloud amounts, the spatial and time structure of the intraseasonal oscillation for the movement-and the evolution of the large-scale connections are studied. To describe the spatial and the time evolution, the extended empirical orthogonal function analysis is applied. The first mode may be considered to a normal structure, indicating that the strong convection band over 90E-120E is extended to sastward but this mode was detected as the intraseasonal variability during summer monsoon. It is found that the dominant intraseasonal mode of the tropical convection consists of the spatial changes over a broad period range centered around 40~50days.

  • A non-decimation second-order spatial moving average (SMA) discrete-time (DT) filter is proposed with reconfigurable null frequencies. The filter coefficients are changeable, and it can be controlled by switching sampling capacitors. So, interferers can be rejected effectively by flexible nulls. Since it operates without decimation, it does not change the sample rate and aliasing problem can be avoided. The filter is designed with variable weight of coefficients as $1:{\alpha}:1$ where ${\alpha}$ varies from 1 to 2. This corresponds to the change of null frequencies within the range of fs/3~fs/2 and fs/2~2fs/3. The proposed filter is implemented in the TSMC 0.18-${\mu}m$ CMOS process. Simulation shows that null frequencies are changeable in the range of 0.38~0.49fs and 0.51~0.62fs.

  • In the spatial image composition of a cathedral, light is the most important element of changing the mind through vision. The religious meaning of light and its impact on human sensibility are believed to be very large. Therefore, in this study, 'Illuminance' is the most important research subject of a cathedral's worship space lighting plan elements. Illuminance is expressed by giving the clarity and form of space through a subtle spatial composition difference. The role of illuminance is essential for confirming the existence of space, and lighting controls the spatial atmosphere at an appropriate level. The standard and range of illuminance are set through the synthesis and analysis of related standards. Based on this, a related case study was conducted on cathedrals built in the Gangnam area of Seoul in the 1980s. The lighting-related factors were analyzed and the illuminance of the liturgical space and worship area were measured. The appropriate level of applicability was confirmed by comparison analysis. A plan for the illuminance application levels and elements applied in the cathedral lighting design is proposed.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare algorithms of single photo resection, which determines the exterior orientation parameters used in fields such as photogrammetry, computer vision, robotics, etc. To this end, the algorithms were compared by generating experimental data by simulating terrain based on a camera used in aerial and close-range photogrammetry. Through experiments on aerial photographic camera that was taken almost vertically, it was possible to determine the exterior orientation parameters using three ground control points, but the Procrustes algorithm was sensitive to the configuration of the ground control points. Even in experiments with a close-range amateur camera where the attitude angles of the camera change significantly, the algorithm was sensitive to the configuration of the ground control points, and the other algorithms required at least six ground control points. Through experiments with two types of cameras, it was found that cosine lawbased spatial resection shows performance similar to that of a traditional photogrammetry algorithm because the number of iterations is short and no explicit initial values are required.

  • Background: Salt marshes provide a variety of ecosystem services; however, they are vulnerable to human activity, water level fluctuations, and climate change. Analyses of the relationships between plant communities and environmental conditions in salt marshes are expected to provide useful information for the prediction of changes during climate change. In this study, relationships between the current vegetation structure and environmental factors were evaluated in the tidal flat at the southern tip of Ganghwa, Korea, where salt marshes are well-developed. Results: The vegetation structure in Ganghwa salt marshes was divided into three groups by cluster analysis: group A, dominated by Phragmites communis; group B, dominated by Suaeda japonica; and group C, dominated by other taxa. As determined by PERMANOVA, the groups showed significant differences with respect to altitude, soil moisture, soil organic matter, salinity, sand, clay, and silt ratios. A canonical correspondence analysis based on the percent cover of each species in the quadrats showed that the proportion of sand increased as the altitude increased and S. japonica appeared in soil with a relatively high silt proportion, while P. communis was distributed in soil with low salinity. Conclusions: The distributions of three halophyte groups differed depending on the altitude, soil moisture, salinity, and soil organic matter, sand, silt, and clay contents. Pioneer species, such as S. japonica, appeared in soil with a relatively high silt content. The P. communis community survived under a wider range of soil textures than previously reported in the literature; the species was distributed in soils with relatively low salinity, with a range expansion toward the sea in areas with freshwater influx. The observed spatial distribution patterns may provide a basis for conservation under declining salt marshes.
