By reviewing preceding studies of big data and spatial big data, spatial big data was defined as one part of big data, which spatialize location information and systematize time series data. Spatial big data, as one part of big data, should not be separated with big data and application methods within the system is to be examined. Therefore in this study, services that spatial big data is required to provide were suggested. Spatial big data must be available of various spatial analysis and is in need of services that considers present and future spatial information. Not only should spatial big data be able to detect time series changes in location, but also analyze various type of big data using attribute information of spatial data. To successfully provide the requirements of spatial big data and link various type of big data with spatial big data, methods of forming sample points and extracting attribute information were proposed in this study. The increasing application of spatial information related to big data is expected to attribute to the development of spatial data industry and technological advancement.
Recently, interest in cloud computing which provides IT resources as service form in IT field is increasing. As a result, much research has been done on the distributed data processing that store and manage a large amount of data in many servers. Meanwhile, in order to effectively utilize the spatial data which is rapidly increasing day by day with the growth of GIS technology, distributed processing of spatial data using cloud computing is essential. Therefore, in this paper, we review the representative distributed data processing techniques and we analyze the optimization requirements for performance improvement of the distributed processing techniques for a large amount of data. In addition, we uses the Hadoop and we evaluate the performance of the distributed data processing techniques for their optimization requirements.

The purpose of this study are in selecting a core service and drawing an analysis functions and service sector, based on contents of geo-spatial big data. For the study, the demand survey in the methodology has to be done by reviewing of preceding geo-spatial big data service. The survey has conducted by targeting on those experts in Industry-Academy-Research cooperation. From the survey, we could draw out requirements for the analysis function and the geo-spatial big data service sector. Also, order of priorities in service of four fields(Society, Environment, Economy, Humanities) has been utilized by a QFD(Quality Function Deployment). With the data, the first two priorities and required sectors for each field were selected for the analysis functions. From the result, we could suggest the core service model(plan), and also expect developments following each sectoral core service in the future.
Recently, Big Data is a buzzword in the creative economy generation. The organizations related to spatial information society focus on building the spatial big data systems. As spatial big data is a combination of spatial information and big data, the data visualization is essential in order to utilize them efficiently. One of the great methodologies for data visualization is infographics. Nationally, Chousn.com initiated the infographics news in 2010. Korean Administration Branches also recognized the importance of infographic and they adopted infographics for their briefings from 2013. Internationally, Visual.ly is leading company in the infographics market and they produced noticeable interactive infographics for Egypt Parliamentary Elections results. In the defense part, Guardian's datajournalism of Afghanistan war log was a good example of utilizing infographics. Throughout the research, five requirements are extracted. First source data should have precision and accuracy in terms of time and space manner. Second, infographics images have a compressibility. Third, the infographics is properly processed for military commanders. Fourth, sharing, openness and communication are essential for high quality infographic. Lastly, infographics should be an analytic tool for predicting future event based on the past data. Infographics is not a direct representation of data but an analytic tool for helping user's choice and decision in critical moments.

Documenting work-in-progress on construction sites using images captured with smartphones, point-and-shoot cameras, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) has gained significant popularity among practitioners. The spatial and temporal density of these large-scale site image collections and the availability of 4D Building Information Models (BIM) provide a unique opportunity to develop BIM-driven visual analytics that can quickly and easily detect and visualize construction progress deviations. Building on these emerging sources of information this paper presents a pipeline for model-driven visual analytics of construction progress. It particularly focuses on the following key steps: 1) capturing, transferring, and storing images; 2) BIM-driven analytics to identify performance deviations, and 3) visualizations that enable root-cause assessments on performance deviations. The information requirements, and the challenges and opportunities for improvements in data collection, plan preparations, progress deviation analysis particularly under limited visibility, and transforming identified deviations into performance metrics to enable root-cause assessments are discussed using several real world case studies.

The compensation data for submerged land have been filed in the form of document or managed with spread sheet like Excell up to now. In the case of dam or highway construction, huge compensation data for the submerged or included land have been managed inefficiently by the administrative manpower. Moreover, where and how to keep the enormous data becomes big problems. In response to the requirements, an submerged land compensation management system based on the location and property information of parcels was developed. The compensation management system has many functions including site searching for compensation, compensation money computing, and compensation data managing. It is expected that the submerged land compensation management system creates various information effects.

Efforts have been made to introduce the climate smart agriculture (CSA) for adaptation to future climate conditions, which would require collection and management of site specific meteorological data. The objectives of this study were to identify requirements for construction of agricultural meteorology information service system (AMISS) using technologies that lead to the fourth industrial revolution, e.g., internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and cloud computing. The IoT sensors that require low cost and low operating current would be useful to organize wireless sensor network (WSN) for collection and analysis of weather measurement data, which would help assessment of productivity for an agricultural ecosystem. It would be recommended to extend the spatial extent of the WSN to a rural community, which would benefit a greater number of farms. It is preferred to create the big data for agricultural meteorology in order to produce and evaluate the site specific data in rural areas. The digital climate map can be improved using artificial intelligence such as deep neural networks. Furthermore, cloud computing and fog computing would help reduce costs and enhance the user experience of the AMISS. In addition, it would be advantageous to combine environmental data and farm management data, e.g., price data for the produce of interest. It would also be needed to develop a mobile application whose user interface could meet the needs of stakeholders. These fourth industrial revolution technologies would facilitate the development of the AMISS and wide application of the CSA.
