전력계통 해석에 유용한 "스파스"행렬법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Sparse Matrix Method Useful to the Solution of a Large Power System)

  • The matrix inversion is very inefficient for computing direct solutions of the large spare systems of linear equations that arise in many network problems as a large electrical power system. Optimally ordered triangular factorization of sparse matrices is more efficient and offers the other important computational advantages in some applications with this method. The direct solutions are computed from sparse matrix factors instead of a full inverse matrix, thereby gaining a significant advantage is speed and computer memory requirements. In this paper, it is shown that the sparse matrix method is superior to the inverse matrix method to solve the linear equations of large sparse networks. In addition, it is shown that the sparse matrix method is superior to the inverse matrix method to solve the linear equations of large sparse networks. In addition, it is shown that the solutions may be applied directly to sove the load flow in an electrical power system. The result of this study should lead to many aplications including short circuit, transient stability, network reduction, reactive optimization and others.

ASSVD: Adaptive Sparse Singular Value Decomposition for High Dimensional Matrices

  • In this paper, an adaptive sparse singular value decomposition (ASSVD) algorithm is proposed to estimate the signal matrix when only one data matrix is observed and there is high dimensional white noise, in which we assume that the signal matrix is low-rank and has sparse singular vectors, i.e. it is a simultaneously low-rank and sparse matrix. It is a structured matrix since the non-zero entries are confined on some small blocks. The proposed algorithm estimates the singular values and vectors separable by exploring the structure of singular vectors, in which the recent developments in Random Matrix Theory known as anisotropic Marchenko-Pastur law are used. And then we prove that when the signal is strong in the sense that the signal to noise ratio is above some threshold, our estimator is consistent and outperforms over many state-of-the-art algorithms. Moreover, our estimator is adaptive to the data set and does not require the variance of the noise to be known or estimated. Numerical simulations indicate that ASSVD still works well when the signal matrix is not very sparse.

High Performance Current Controller for Sparse Matrix Converter Based on Model Predictive Control

  • A novel predictive current control strategy for a sparse matrix converter is presented. The sparse matrix converter is functionally-equivalent to the direct matrix converter but has a reduced number of switches. The predictive current control uses a model of the system to predict the future value of the load current and generates the reference voltage vector that minimizes a given cost function so that space vector modulation is achieved. The results show that the proposed controller for sparse matrix converters controls the load current very effectively and performs very well through simulation and experimental results.

대규모 측지망 조정을 위한 희소 행렬의 효율적인 재배열 방법에 대한 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Efficient Reordering Methods of Sparse Matrix Problem for Large-scale Surveying Network Adjustment)

  • 수평조정망과 같이 커다란 희소행렬(sparse matrix)을 계산할 때, 시간적 효율 및 공간적 효율을 높이기 위해서 재배열(reordering) 과정을 거치게 된다. 본 연구에서는 SMMS(Sparse Matrix Manip ulation System) 프로그램을 이용해서 희소행렬의 원소를 각각의 재배열 방법으로 재배열 한 후, 전체 계산에 걸리는 시간과 치환배열을 구해 해를 구하는 과정시 발생하는 Fill-in의 개수를 계산해서 각 방법의 효율성을 비교하였다. 그 결과, Minimum Bandwidth 기반의 GPS(Gibbs-Poole-Stockmeyer), RCM(Reverse Cuthill-Mckee) 방법보다 최소 차수(Minimum Degree) 기반의 MD(Minimum Degree), MMD(Mutiple Minimum Degree) 방법이 더 효율적인 모습을 보여주었다. 하지만, 행렬의 원소 분포에 따라서 최적의 성능을 보이는 재배열 방법은 달라질 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 향후 전국 기준점의 좌표값 재조정 시, 또는 대규모 측지망 조정 등에서 구성 요소 계산에 필요한 시간, 저장 공간 등의 효율을 높일 수 있는 효과를 기대할 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

스파스 매트릭스 컨버터의 간단한 개방 사고 검출 기법 (A Simple Open-Circuit Fault Detection Method for a Sparse Matrix Converter)

  • This paper presents a diagnostic method for a sparse matrix converter that detects faults in any single switch or a pair of switches. The sparse matrix converter is functionally equivalent to the standard matrix converter but has a reduced number of switches. The proposed diagnostic method is based in the measurement of input and output currents. The currents have respective characteristic according to the location of faulty switches. This method not only detects the switches of open-circuit fault but identifies the location of the faulty switching devices without complicated calculations. The simulation and experimental results verify that, based on the proposed method, the fault of sparse matrix converter can be easily and fast detected.

  • The sparse vector method is more efficient than conventional sparse matrix method when solving sparse system. This paper considers the structural relation between factorized L and inverse of L and presents a new ordering algorithm for sparse vector method. The method is useful in enhancing the sparsity of the inverse of L while preserving the aparsity of matrix. The performance of algorithm is compared with conventional algorithms by means of several power system.

  • 대칭인 sparse 행렬의 bandwidth와 profile을 줄이는 두개의 알고리즘을 보기를 들어비교하였다. 여러 응용분야에서 야기되는 특별한 정사각형 adjacency graph를 갖는 행렬에 대해 실험한 결과 비록 SMBWR- 알고리즘은 Gibbs 알고 리즘보다 실행한 시간은 2배나 늦지만 bandwidth나 profile은 훨씬 더 많이 줄일 수 있음을 보여주고 있다.

  • We address a new representation of DCT/DFT/Wavelet matrices via one hybrid architecture. Based on an element inverse matrix factorization algorithm, we show that the OCT, OFT and Wavelet which based on Haar matrix have the similarrecursive computational pattern, all of them can be decomposed to one orthogonal character matrix and a special sparse matrix. The special sparse matrix belongs to Jacket matrix, whose inverse can be from element-wise inverse or block-wise inverse. Based on this trait, we can develop a hybrid architecture.

Implementation and Experiments of Sparse Matrix Data Structure for Heat Conduction Equations

  • The heat conduction equation, a type of a Poisson equation which can be applied in various areas of engineering is calculating its value with the iteration method in general. The equation which had difference discretization of the heat conduction equation is the simultaneous equation, and each line has the characteristic of expressing in sparse matrix of the equivalent number of none-zero elements with neighboring grids. In this paper, we propose a data structure for sparse matrix that can calculate the value faster with less memory use calculate the heat conduction equation. To verify whether the proposed data structure efficiently calculates the value compared to the other sparse matrix representations, we apply the representative iteration method, CG (Conjugate Gradient), and presents experiment results of time consumed to get values, calculation time of each step and relevant time consumption ratio, and memory usage amount. The results of this experiment could be used to estimate main elements of calculating the value of the general heat conduction equation, such as time consumed, the memory usage amount.

  • We contain a simple construction for the sparse n x n connected orthogonal matrices which have a row of p nonzero entries with 2$\leq$p$\leq$n. Moreover, we study the analogous sparsity problem for an m x n connected row-orthogonal matrices.
