다수 사람 추적상태에 따른 감시영상 요약 시스템 (Surveillance Video Summarization System based on Multi-person Tracking Status)

  • 현대사회는 보안과 안전이 중요해지면서 감시카메라들이 여러 곳에 설치되어 있다. 하지만 감시영상을 보고 상황을 파악하는 것은 여전히 사람의 몫으로 인력과 시간이 소모된다. 그래서 자동으로 감시영상을 분석하여 주요 사건 중심으로 요약해 주는 연구의 필요성이 커지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 감시영상에서 존재하는 다수의 사람을 추적하고, 추적을 통해 얻은 정보를 이용하여 감시영상을 요약하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 감시영상 요약 시스템은 조명보정을 적용하여 배경제거한 후 다수의 사람을 추출하고, 추출된 사람의 추적 정보를 상태 데이터베이스에 저장한다. 추적을 통해 얻은 정보로 추적 대상들의 추적 경로, 움직임 상태, 지체시간, 카메라 안으로의 출입시간 등을 사용한다. 또 사람의 움직임에 따라 6 가지(Enter, Stay, Slow, Normal, Fast and Exit)로 움직임 상태를 분류하였고, 움직임 상태를 시간별, 공간별로 요약 그래프로 나타내 추적대상의 움직임 상태를 빠르게 파악할 수 있다.

ADS-B based Trajectory Prediction and Conflict Detection for Air Traffic Management

  • The Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) system is a key component of CNS/ATM recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as the next generation air traffic control system. ADS-B broadcasts identification, positional data, and operation information of an aircraft to other aircraft, ground vehicles and ground stations in the nearby region. This paper explores the ADS-B based trajectory prediction and the conflict detection algorithm. The multiple-model based trajectory prediction algorithm leads accurate predicted conflict probability at a future forecast time. We propose an efficient and accurate algorithm to calculate conflict probability based on approximation of the conflict zone by a set of blocks. The performance of proposed algorithms is demonstrated by a numerical simulation of two aircraft encounter scenarios.

  • Approaches to several recent issues in the operation of nuclear power plants using computational intelligence are discussed. These issues include 1) noise analysis techniques, 2) on-line monitoring and sensor validation, 3) regularization of ill-posed surveillance and diagnostic measurements, 4) transient identification, 5) artificial intelligence-based core monitoring and diagnostic system, 6) continuous efficiency improvement of nuclear power plants, and 7) autonomous anticipatory control and intelligent-agents. Several changes to the focus of Computational Intelligence in Nuclear Engineering have occurred in the past few years. With earlier activities focusing on the development of condition monitoring and diagnostic techniques for current nuclear power plants, recent activities have focused on the implementation of those methods and the development of methods for next generation plants and space reactors. These advanced techniques are expected to become increasingly important as current generation nuclear power plants have their licenses extended to 60 years and next generation reactors are being designed to operate for extended fuel cycles (up to 25 years), with less operator oversight, and especially for nuclear plants operating in severe environments such as space or ice-bound locations.

  • This paper proposes an intelligent video surveillance system for human object tracking. The proposed system integrates the object extraction, human object recognition, face detection, and camera control. First, the object in the video signals is extracted using the background subtraction. Then, the object region is examined whether it is human or not. For this recognition, the region-based shape descriptor, angular radial transform (ART) in MPEG-7, is used to learn and train the shapes of human bodies. When it is decided that the object is human or something to be investigated, the face region is detected. Finally, the face or object region is tracked in the video, and the pan/tilt/zoom (PTZ) controllable camera tracks the moving object with the motion information of the object. This paper performs the simulation with the real CCTV cameras and their communication protocol. According to the experiments, the proposed system is able to track the moving object(human) automatically not only in the image domain but also in the real 3-D space. The proposed system reduces the human supervisors and improves the surveillance efficiency with the computer vision techniques.

  • Unmanned robots are very useful for autonomous security systems. These robots navigate autonomously move in a large area for surveillance. It is very important for robots that cover such a wide area to communicate with a control systems. Therefore, the control system needs various communication methods to check the status of the robot and send/receive messages. In addition, it is necessary to provide an easy interface for the user to send security mission commands to the robot. In this paper, we propose a control system based on a variety of communication techniques to perform security by safely communicating with a number of robots in a wide area space. The proposed system designed for considering user UI, data storage and management, and shows usability by constructing it in a real environment.

  • In the images of a video camera employed for surveillance, detecting targets by extracting foreground image is of great importance. The foreground regions detected, however, include not only moving targets but also their shadows. This paper presents a novel technique to detect shadow pixels in the foreground image of a video camera. The image characteristics of video cameras employed, a web-cam and a CCD, are first analysed in the HSV color space and a pixel-level shadow detection technique is proposed based on the analysis. Compared with existing techniques where unified criteria are used to all pixels, the proposed technique determines shadow pixels utilizing a fact that the effect of shadowing to each pixel is different depending on its brightness in background image. Such an approach can accommodate local features in an image and hold consistent performance even in changing environment. In experiments targeting pedestrians, the proposed technique showed better results compared with an existing technique.

중국의 주변국 해양감시를 위한 전자신호 수집위성 연구개발 (China's Satellite Research and Development to Collect Electronic Signals for Marine Reconnaissance to Surrounding Nations)

  • 중국은 서태평양, 남중국해, 인도양에서 미국 및 역내 국가들의 해양세력 움직임에 신속히 대처하기 위하여 1960년대부터 기존의 지상 및 항공 감시체계를 벗어나 우주기반 감시능력을 확보하기 위해 군사위성분야에 많은 투자를 해왔다. 수차례의 실험위성 발사 및 운용시험을 통하여 핵심기술을 확보한 후에 2006년 이후 EO, SAR, ELINT분야의 군사 첩보위성인 Yaogan위성을 현재까지 약 40여 차례 이상 발사하여 운용하고 있다. 특히 전구적으로 운용 가능한 수십여 기의 ELINT 신호수집 위성을 중심으로 우주기반 위성네트워크를 구축하여 수집된 자료를 지상으로 실시간 전송함과 동시에 지상기반 C4ISR 네트워크와 연동된 대함탄도미사일인 ASBM에 해양 공격목표 자료를 제공함으로써 중국의 주변 해양세력에 대한 감시 및 미사일 공격능력을 한층 더 강화시켰다. 향후 전자신호 위성수집분야에 더욱더 기술적인 연구를 통해서 정확한 위치 탐색과 분석능력을 확대시킬 것으로 판단된다.

Prospective Multicenter Surveillance Study of Surgical Site Infection after Intracranial Procedures in Korea : A Preliminary Study

  • Objective : This study aimed to investigate the rates, types, and risk factors of surgical site infection (SSI) following intracranial neurosurgical procedures evaluated by a Korean SSI surveillance system. Methods : This was a prospective observational study of patients who underwent neurosurgical procedures at 29 hospitals in South Korea from January 2017 to June 2017. The procedures included craniectomy, craniotomy, cranioplasty, burr hole, and ventriculoperitoneal shunt. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed. Results : Of the 1576 cases included, 30 showed infection, for an overall SSI rate of 1.9%. Organ/space infection was the most common, found in 21 out of the 30 cases (70%). Staphylococcus aureus was the most common (41%) of all bacteria, and Serratia marcescens (12%) was the most common among gram-negative bacteria. In univariate analyses, the p-values for age, preoperative hospital stay duration, and over T-hour were <0.2. In a multivariate analysis of these variables, only preoperative hospital stay was significantly associated with the incidence of SSI (p<0.001), whereas age and over T-hour showed a tendency to increase the risk of SSI (p=0.09 and 0.06). Conclusion : Surveillance systems play important roles in the accurate analysis of SSI. The incidence of SSI after neurosurgical procedures assessed by a national surveillance system was 1.9%. Future studies will provide clinically useful results for SSI when data are accumulated.

지능형 영상 교통 감시 시스템에서 공간 투영기법을 이용한 이동물체 추적 방법 (Moving Objects Tracking Method using Spatial Projection in Intelligent Video Traffic Surveillance System)

  • 영상 감시 시스템에서 특정 물체를 추적하기 위해서는 물체에 대한 영상정보를 빠른 시간 내에 정확하게 인식하고 추적하는 방법이 매우 중요하다. 단일 카메라를 이용해서 객체의 추적을 하게 될 경우 가려짐과 같은 문제로 인해 객체 추적의 한계가 존재하게 되고, 복수 카메라를 사용하는 경우 연속적으로 배치된 카메라를 통해 객체를 추적하게 된다. 그러나 객체추적이 완벽하게 이루어지지 않아 추적하고 있는 객체를 놓치는 경우가 발생한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 다수의 카메라를 관심영역 내에 설치해서 동시에 동일한 물체를 여러 각도에서 관찰하는 멀티 영상감시시스템과 같은 방법을 고려해야 한다. 물체 추적에 다수의 카메라를 이용할 경우 정보 취득이 용이하고, 보다 넓은 범위의 공간에서 정확도가 높은 판단을 내리는 것이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 도로 교차로에 다수의 카메라를 사용할 경우 공간투영기법인 호모그래피를 적용하여 자동차와 같은 동일한 물체를 인식하고 추적하기 위한 방법을 제안하고자 한다.
