Speed-Power Performance Analysis of an Existing 8,600 TEU Container Ship using SPA(Ship Performance Analysis) Program and Discussion on Wind-Resistance Coefficients

  • This study discusses data collection, calculation of wind and wave-induced resistance, and speed-power analysis of an 8,600 TEU container ship. Data acquisition system of the ship operator was improved to obtain the data necessary for the analysis, which was accomplished using SPA (Ship Performance Analysis, Park et al., 2019) in conformation with ISO15016:2015. From a previous operation profile of the container, the standard operating conditions of mean draft were 12.5 m and 13.6 m, which were defined with the mean stowage configuration of each condition. Model tests, including the load-variation test, were conducted to validate new ship performance and for the speed-power analysis. The major part of the added resistance of container ship is due to the wind. To check the reliability of wind-resistance calculation results, the resistance coefficients, added resistance, and speed-power analysis results using the Fujiwara regression formula (ISO15016:2015) and Computational fluid dynamics (Ryu et al., 2016; Jeon et al., 2017) analysis were compared. Wind speed and direction measured using an anemometer were used for wind-resistance calculation and the wave resistance was calculated using the wave-height and direction-data from weather information. Also, measured water temperature was used to calculate the increase in resistance owing to the deviation in water density. As a result, the SPA analysis using measured data and weather information was proved to be valid and able to identify the ship's resistance propulsion performance. Even with little difference in the air-resistance coefficient value, both methods provide sufficient accuracy for speed-power analysis. The differences were unnoticeable when the speed-power analysis results using each method were compared. Also, speed-power analysis results of the 8,600 TEU container ship in two draft conditions show acceptable trends when compared with the model test results and are also able to show power increase owing to hull fouling and aging. Thus, results of speed-power analysis of the existing 8,600 TEU container ship using the SPA program appropriately exhibit the characteristics of speed-power performance in deal conditions.

  • This study was performed to evaluate an applicability of the SMMCMAS system for reuse of the sewage from spa area and was operated to HLR(Hydraulic loading rate) of 211.3 to 126.8 $\ell$/㎥/d. The operating HRT(Hydraulic retention time) ranges were 2.5 to 1.5 hours. Conclusions are as follows; At the optimum HLR of 158.5 $\ell/\m^2$/d (HRT of 2.0 hours), the maximum BOD removal efficiency was 94% and the effluent BOD concentration was 1.1mg/$\ell$ in result. As the HLR was increased to 211.3 $\ell/\m^2$/d, BOD removal efficiency was decreased to 75% and BOD removal efficiency was also reduced to 74% at lower HLR of 126.8 $\ell/\m^2$/d. It shows that the maximum BOD removal efficiency occurs at an optimum HLR value and that the removal efficiency decreases when the HLR is either higher or lower than the optimum value. Sludge production rates were ranged 0.01 to 0.24gVSS/gBODrem/d and accomplished to 0.01gVSS/gBODrem/d at the optimum HLR of 158.5 $\ell/\m^2$/d.

  • 최근 정보보호 장치를 이용하여 암호 알고리듬을 수행할 경우 부채널 공격과 오류 주입 공격을 결합한 물리적 조합 공격에 의해 비밀 키가 노출될 수 있음이 밝혀졌다. 특히, RSA 암호 시스템에서 수행하는 멱승 연산에 대해 한 번의 오류 주입과 전력 분석을 통해 조합 공격이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 SPA(Simple Power Analysis)와 FA(Fault Attack)을 방어하기 위해 제안되었던 BNP(Boscher, Naciri, and Prouff) 멱승 알고리듬이 조합 공격에 취약함을 보이고자 한다. 또한, 오류 확산 기법에 기반하여 개인 키를 랜덤화시키는 대응 방안을 제안한다.

플랜트 FEED 설계를 위한 시스템엔지니어링 기술프로세스 적용방안 연구 - 환경플랜트 사례를 중심으로 (A Study on Application of Systems Engineering Technical Process to FEED in Plant construction Industry - focused on a case of Environmental Plant)

  • With rapid growth of the world plant market, an increasing attention is paid on the plant engineering. Up to present time, Korean plant engineering technology has been concerned with the down stream part of the plant engineering, so called EPC, considered as a lower value chain compared with the up stream, composed of FEED(Front End Engineering Design) and PMC(Project Management Consultancy). In other words, a key issue for Korean plant industry is how to catch up the FEED technology, currently occupied by the advanced countries. In this paper, we propose an SE(Systems Engineering) approach, conventionally applied for aerospace and defense industry, to the FEED for plant engineering. Specifically, we proposed a new SE process composed of: 1) SPA matrix for reverse systems engineering, and 2) PPA matrix for forward systems engineering. To illustrate the proposed method, a case study for an environmental plant is performed.

SPA 심사원 능력과 효율성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Assessor's Competence and Efficiency of Software Process Assessment)

  • In this study, we verify the relationship, which is presented by ISO/IEC 15504, between the assessor's competence and the efficiency of assessment. The ISO standard has been developed by many formal trial experiences for the software process assessment. The software process assessment determines the process capability, and makes the software process improvement possible in the development cycle. In the field assessment, third-party and team-based assessments are generally recommended. Therefore assessors' competences are essential to achieve the effectiveness and the efficiency of assessment. Survey data are collected from the third-party process assessment of a real IT industry, and the analysis is done by a causal modelling technique - PLS. Some findings are as follows. Depending on assessors' SE experiences, effects of the assessor's competence are existed, and their standard knowledge and assessment skill are effected each other. And the efficiency of assessment depends on the assessor's competence. In addition, the power analysis is presented and future research is suggested, because of many limitations of this study.

한약재의 Cytochrome P450 결합관련 안전성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Affinity of Some Medicinal Herbs to Two Cytochrome P450 Subfamilies, CYP3A4 and CYP2D6)

  • Objectives : This study was performed to investigate the metabolic site of some medicinal herbs in the liver associated with CYP (Cytochrome P450). Methods : Cytochrome P450 is the major enzymes involved in drug metabolism and bioactivation. CYP3A4 and CYP2D6, the major CYP isoforms in humans, catalyse the major proportion of drugs available on the market. Scintillation proximity assay (SPA) is often used in studies to identify compounds that inhibit CYP3A4 and CYP2D6. 28 herbal extracts and radioisotopes were attached competitively to SPA beads, and followed by measuring the remaining radioisotopes in the medium. Erythromycin and dexamethasone, inhibitors of CYP3A4 and CYP2D6, were used as controls respectively. Results : Most of the 28 herbal extracts showed dose-dependent affinity to the CYP3A4 while some of the herbs showed affinity to the CYP2D6. Conclusions : These results suggest that most of the 28 herbal extracts are metabolized safely in the liver, combined with CYP3A4 and CYP2D6.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to consider the definition, history, classification and clinical effect of balneotherapy. Methods : We researched oriental documents and recent sources of balneotherapy. Results and Conclusions : 1. Balneotherapy is medical cure method which uses physical chemistry effects of water. 2. Records of balneotherapy are seen in oriental documents such as Hwangjenaegyeong(黃帝內經), Sinnongbonchogyeong(神農本草經), Jaebyoungwonhuron(諸病源候論), Youmoonsachin(儒門事親), Bonchogangmok(本草綱目) and Donguibogam(東醫寶鑑) etc. 3. Spa can classify eleven types according to ingredient. The types were as following. Simple thermal spirng, Common salt spring, Sodium bicarbonated spring, Sulfate spring, Radioactive spring, Acid spring, Sulfur spring, Carbon dioxide spring, Iron spring, Alum spring & Sulfate-iron spring, Bicarbonatealkaline spring. 4. Physical, chemical and environmental effect of spa therapy have effectiveness on the chronic and we akness disease more than acute disease. And balneotherapy have more effectiveness on digestive disease, pulmonary disease, metabolic disease, circulatory disease, muscle skeletal disease and dermatologic disease than any other diseases.

중환자실에서 분리된 Methicillin 내성 Staphylococcus aureus의 유전자형 분석 (Genotype Analyses of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus Isolated from Intensive Care Units)

  • Purpose: Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) has become a major clinical problem and one of the major nosocomial pathogen worldwide. The aim of the study was to investigate the epidemiological characteristics of genotypes of MRSA isolated in the A-hospital ICU. Methods: In the period between December 2007 and May 2008, MRSA was isolated from ICU patients and its surrounding environment. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) was conducted for the detection of MRSA gene. The incidence of MRSA in the clinical isolates of Staphylococcus aureus was examined by using a multiplex PCR. The spa gene of Staphylococcus aureus encodes protein A and is used for typing of MRSA. We used sequence typing of the spa gene repeat region to study the epidemiology of MRSA at a hospital. Results: Two different genotypes of MRSA were identified with 90 isolated from the patients and its surrounding environments in the ICU. Conclusion: This study may contribute to the development of effective strategies for preventing nosocomial infections. Genotyping may have more general application for the study of MRSA epidemic outbreak in hospital and community infection.

VMD구성요소가 의류 브랜드 태도와 점포 재방문 의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of VMD Components on the Attitudes Toward Fashion Brands and the Intention of Revisiting)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate how VMD structural elements affect fashion brand attitude and intention of store revisiting. For the research, we surveyed 200 females in their 20's and 30's, who are target consumers of SPA brands from April 10th to 15th in 2009. With SPSS 12.0 program, the data was analysed by frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results are as follows: First, regarding to the results of factor analysis, VMD structural elements were divided into the space layout and information factor, display and aesthetic factor, and store atmosphere factor. Second, intention of store revisiting was statically affected by fashion brand attitude and VMD structural elements, especially space layout and information factor. Third, we found differences in the path effects of VMD structural elements - brand attitude - store revisiting according to the familiarity of SPA stores. The results revealed that VMD structural elements are important marketing strategic tools affecting consumer's preference and store behavior on fashion brands.

하전 입자 효과를 이용한 Plasma Display Panel의 고속 구동 파형에 관한 연구 (Studies on High Speed Addressing Driving Scheme using the Priming Effect in Plasma Display Panel)

  • 본 연구는 Full-HD급 PDP의 고속 구동 구현을 위한 새로운 구동 방식에 관한 연구이다. 새로운 SPA (self-priming address) 구동 파형은 어드레스 구간에서 지속적인 프라이밍 방전을 유지하여 하전 입자 효과를 이용하여 어드레스 방전 지연 시간을 개선하기 위하여 제안되었다. 본 연구에서는 프라이밍 방전의 기본 특성에 대해 조사하였으며, 안정적인 프라이밍 방전을 유지할 수 있는 초기화 펄스 및 프라이밍 램프 펄스를 도출하였다. 특히, 프라이밍 램프 펄스의 기울기가 0.1[$V/{\mu}s$]의 미약한 프라이밍 방전의 경우에 대해서도 기존 방식의 1.2[${\mu}s$]의 어드레스 방전 지연 시간을 0.8[${\mu}s$]로 획기적으로 개선할 수 있는 것을 확인하였다.
