이미지를 이용한 사운드 그래픽 이퀄라이저의 구성에 대한 연구 (A study of sound graphic equalizer configuration using photo image)

  • IT기술의 발전과 함께 휴대용 음원 재생 기기의 보급에 따라 다양한 형대로 분화되어진 하드웨어는 다양한 형대로 발전하고 있으며, 이와 함께 청각적 정보만을 위한 하드웨어로 그 기능을 제한하지 않고 좀더 많은 정보를 사용자에게 전달하기 위한 그래픽 유저 인터페이스(GUI)의 기능이 강조되고 있다. 전자 기기를 통하여 출력되는 음원은 단순히 외부로 음을 출력하는 목적을 넘어서 음원의 분석을 통하여 사용자에게 소리에 대한 특정을 시각적 정보로 전달하는, 청각적 정보의 시각화 과정의 중요성이 강조되고 있다. 이러한 요구로 인하여 음원의 특정적 정보를 시각적으로 표현하는 것을 목적으로 하는 사운드 그래픽 이퀄라이저(Sound graphic equalizer)를 이용함에 이르게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 GUI의 한 형태인 사운드 그래픽 이퀄라이저에서 기존 방식의 막대그래프의 형태에서 벗어난, 사용자와의 피드백(Feedback)이 가능한 새로운 시각적 표현 형태를 지닌 사운드 그래픽 이퀄라이저의 대안을 찾고자 한다. 음원의 특정을 분석하여 각각의 소리에 대한 정보를 시각적으로 표현하는데 있어 새로운 형태적 구성 방안을 사운드 비쥬얼라이제이션(Sound visualization) 작품을 통하여 구성하고 각각의 음원 따라 시각적 음원 정보를 접하는 사용자의 취향에 따른 이미지를 이용하여 구성하는 개인 맞춤형 사운드 그래픽 이퀄라이저의 구축 가능성을 타진해본다. 사용자와의 소통 과정을 통한 실시간 출력 영상의 형태 적용을 통하여 사용자 친화적인 GUI 형태를 구축하는데 있어 새로운 대안을 제시하고자 한다.

성악인에서 발성 시 음의 높낮이에 따른 성도 길이의 변화 (The Change of the Length of Vocal Tract in Singers according to the Phonation at Different Levels of Pitch)

  • Background and Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the change of vocal tract length according to the level of the pitch by the singers. Materials and Methods: Fifteen tenors were asked to produce successive /a/ sound in G4(382Hz) for the head register, C3(131Hz) for the chest register and usual speaking sound. The control group consisted of 15 males of an similar age who are not professional singers. The length of vocal tract was calculated by applying the formula of Fn=(2n-1) c/4L(F : formant frequency, c : the speed of sound in the vocal tract(350m/sec), L : length of vocal tract, $n=1,2,3,4,{\ldots}{\infty}$). Results: In singer's group, there showed no significant statistical difference of length among head and chest register and usual speaking sound. However in the control group, there showed statistically significant difference of length. Comparison of the absolute difference in the length of vocal tract by changing level of pitch in phonation, between the control group and the singers group. Changing from G4 phonation to C3 phonation and C3 phonation to usual speaking sound showed statistically difference of vocal tract length was less in the singers group than the control group. Conclusion: The change of vocal tract length, in either speaking or singing, was less in singers than the control group. We could assume that the singers maintain their larynx position constantly throughout the pitch range when phonation.

  • The reduction of the vehicle interior noise has been the main interest of noise and vibration harshness (NVH) engineers. The driver's perception on the vehicle noise is affected largely by psychoacoustic characteristic of the noise as well as the SPL. In particular, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system sound among the vehicle interior noise has been reflected sensitively in psychoacoustics view point. Even though the HVAC noise is not louder than overall noise level, it clearly affects subjective perception to drivers in the way of making to be nervous or annoyed. Therefore, these days a vehicle engineer takes aim at developing sound quality as well as reduction of noise. In this paper, we acquired noises in the HVAC from many vehicles. Through the objective and subjective sound quality (SQ) evaluation with acquiring noises recorded by the vehicle HVAC system, the simple and multiple regression models were obtained for the subjective evaluation 'Pleasant' using the semantic differential method (SDM). The regression procedure also allows you to produce diagnostic statistics to evaluate the regression estimates including appropriation and accuracy. Furthermore, the neural network (NN) model were obtained using three inputs(loudness, sharpness and roughness) of the SQ metrics and one output(subjective 'Pleasant'). Because human's perception is very complex and hard to estimate their pattern, we used NN model. The estimated models were compared with correlations between output indexes of SQ and hearing test results for verification data 'Pleasant'. As a result of application of the SQ indexes, the NN model was shown with the largest correlation of SQ indexes and we found possibilities to predict the SQ metrics.

Development of New Methods for Position Estimation of Underground Acoustic Source Using a Passive SONAR System

  • The aim of the work described in this paper is to develop a complex underground acoustic system which detects and localizes the origin of an underground hammering sound using an array of hydrophones located about 100m underground. Three different methods for the sound localization will be presented, a time-delay method, a power-attenuation method and a hybrid method. In the time-delay method, the cross correlation of the signals received from the array of sensors is used to calculate the time delays between those signals. In the power-attenuation method, the powers of the received signals provide a measure of the distances of the source from the sensors. In the hybrid method, both informations of time-delays and power-ratios are coupled together to produce better performance of position estimation. A new acoustic imaging technique has been developed for improving the hybrid method. This new acoustic imaging method shows the multi-dimensional distribution of the normalized cost function, so as to indicate the trend of the minimizing direction toward the source location. For each method the sound localization is carried out in three dimensions underground. The distance between the true and estimated origins of the source is 28m for a search area of radius 250m.

  • 본 논문은 스테레오 사운드에서 합쳐지기 이전의 개별적인 사운드를 분리해내는 기법을 제안한다. 기존의 Degenerate Unmixing Estimation Technique (DUET) 알고리즘의 W-Disjoint Orthogonal 가정에 기반을 두고 있으며, Windowed-Fourier 변환을 사용하여 시간-주파수 영역에서 주요 프로세스를 수행한다. 제안된 방식은 패닝 인덱스의 거리차이에 따라 가중치를 준 마스크를 사용하는 기법과 양쪽 채널의 성분을 비교하여 바이너리 기반의 마스크를 사용하는 방식이다. 전자는 부드러운 분리 특성을 보여주며, 후자는 높은 분리 특성을 보여주었다. 마지막에 실험을 통해 기존의 방식과 제안된 방식을 비교함으로써, 제안된 방식이 기존 방식 보다 좋은 성능을 가지고 있음을 알아볼 것이다.

  • This paper represents an identification procedure for leading mechanism of a car A/V system which is composed of a DC motor and a set of plastic gears. In addition, we studied dominant noise source of rattle noise generated by external forced vibration as a car drives. we made a dynamometer to produce stationary operation on loading mechanism of A/V system because noise generated by actual loading mechanism is non-stationary signal. operating the dynamometer setup at various motor speeds, sound pressure spectra are measured and the results are analyzed. its dominant noise source is also identified by using a sound Intensity technique. we made use of multi-dimensional spectral analysis to rind a dominant rattle noise. this method is so useful to eliminate coherence between vibration sources and helps us obtain coherent output spectrum of individual vibration source which make a rattle noise.

  • The problem of voice restoration after total laryngectomy has existed ever since Billroth's first total laryngectomy in 1873. Since then, all the efforts to restore the voice was tried to divert the tracheal air to the pharynx to produce voice, which became the tracheo-esophageal shunt voice currently used. With the intact pharyngoesophagus, however, there are two basic options for speech rehabilitation : the artificial larynx and esophageal voice. The artificial larynx is an electrically driven buzzer or a sound transducer and its most common type is placed against a supple point on patient's neck and introduces a mechanical sound into the tissues and air spaces of the neck. This sound, emanating form the mouth, is articulated by the intact structures of the remaining vocal tract as understandable speech. Esophageal voice is a commonly recommended method for alaryngeal speech rehabilitation, which can be successfully done by regurgitating the air stored in the esophagus. Successful esophageal voice is preferable to the artificial larynx but, most patients usually adapt only one of those methods according to their needs and feasibility to learn.

At the minimalism element, clothing functions moderately as main factor of the fashion show: Technical elements are added to emphasize future Images. At the fashion model, objective appearance boundary is collapsed to expand model concept and make tools of their own. The fashion show has external values of active movement of associated industry as well as economic boost enough to produce jobs, and internal values to provide aesthetic rest and satisfactions to let the ones. who are isolated from recreation values and the society, establish friendly relations with the society
