A Study on the Characteristics of Building Composition of Zen Buddhist Temples in Northern Song Dynasty (북송대 선종사원의 가람 구성 특징에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the characteristics of Zen Buddhist temple's building composition of the Northern Song dynasty, through the analysis of literature historical material, such as Seonwon chenggyu(禪苑淸規), Cham cheontae odaesan gi(參天台五臺山記) and so on. The building composition method of Zen Buddhist temple in Northern Song dynasty, which grasped from the Seonwon chenggyu, reflects the actual situation of the temples in that time. And it was ascertained that, the Zen Buddhist temple's building composition of the Northern Song dynasty was basically same to that of Southern Song dynasty. And the comparative analysis was attempted between Zen Buddhist temples and that of other Buddhism sect described in Cham cheontae odaesan gi. From this analysis, the common features as Buddhism temple and the characteristics of building composition as Zen Buddhist temple was clarified.

  • This study was intended to reconsider the work song in the modem children's life and to search its utilization plan. For it, folk songs were collected from internet website("Search for Korean Forlk song") and books, then the proper work songs suitable for the purpose of the study were selected. Selected work songs were reformed in order to utilize in a daily life including infant daily life and play in the home with mother. That is, the work song was presented to be utilized while changing a diaper, massaging, taking a rest, letting children take a nap, whispering in the children's ears, taking a bath, exercising after the bath, doing a body play, and facing each other.

  • Impulse response of a slightly asymmetric cylindrical shell is derived. Receptance method is applied to obtain the vibration mode and natural frequency of the slightly asymmetric cylindrical shell. Impulse response model is used to identify the vibration beat characteristics of King Song-Dok Bell. The theretical mode is compared and verified by the measured mode of King Song-Dok Bell. Early Childhood Teachers' Practice and Difficulties with Musical Concepts Treated in the 'Sing-a-New-Song' Activity ('새노래부르기' 활동에서 다루고 있는 유아교사의 음악적 개념과 지도의 어려움)

  • This study examined musical concepts of early childhood teachers with the 'Sing-a-New-Song' activity and problems teachers face in the application of musical concepts. Participants were 10 kindergarten teachers; data were collected through lesson plans, videos of classes, and interviews with teachers. Results showed that (1) selection of songs focused on words of a song rather than musical concepts; ignoring development of the musical level of the children. (2) Goal-setting ignored musical concepts. (3) Class management confused musical concepts with other concepts. (4) No evaluation of musical concepts was undertaken. Problems included teachers' lack of knowledge of musical development in young children, insufficient understanding and limited application of musical concepts, and low expectations regarding music as a subject of instruction.

  • It is difficult to conduct an on-site investigation of Kaesung since it's located in North Korea. After the devastating Korean civil war we have lost a lot of authentic structures. At present, the statement of those who have seen the Kaesung during the time would be of great help in bringing out the significance of this study. According to Ma Hae-song, who was a local in Kaesung. He vividly remembered how his neighborhood looks like and he even mentioned the every single detail of his house in his essay. Moreover he also compared the traditional Han-ok in the former time from the household of other countries. There was an extraordinary interest and insight in Han-ok. This study estimated Ma hae-song's Gaesuong house based on Ma hae-song's personal and supplementary records. the contents by exchanging e-mails with his eldest son, poet Ma Jong-ki. Through the above process, it was confirmed that the writer Mahae Song's Gaeseong House was a typical wealthy merchant's house located in Donghaerang, a luxury residential area, and was engaged in commerce.

  • The 1968 Huế Massacre is a horrifying event rarely mentioned today in Vietnamese history and mass media. It is forgotten perhaps because it is simply indescribable. This study reads a song by Vietnamese musician Trịnh Công Sơn, where he attempted to chronicle the catastrophic images of the massacre. We use the notion of symbolic death in psychoanalysis to interpretation of the song, and shed a new light on how it captured this historical event which eludes understanding.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the development of the content of Dao-tong during the Tang and Song Dynasties. This paper examines the transition of Dao-tong in the following three stages. First, Han-yu(韓愈) defined that Ren-Yi(仁義) is the content of Dao-tong. Second, Sun-fu(孫復) and other Confucian scholars in the Northern Song Dynasty stipulated that a broader meaning of Confucian Dao is the content of Dao-tong. Third, Qi-song(契嵩) and Dao-xue-jia(道學家) in the Northern Song Dynasty insisted that Zhi-Zhong(執中) should be a content of Dao-tong. This Confucian Orthodoxy is changed into the philosophical theory of human-nature and heart by Dao-xue-jia in the Northern Song Dynasty.
