This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of salt soluble protein extracts from anchovy (ASSPE) on sausage during storage at $10^{\circ}C$. Sausages were produced containing 5 and 10% ASSPE. Sausages containing ASSPE showed no significant differences in emulsion stability, color, pH, moisture, viable cell count, and VBN compared to the control. The hardness significantly increased with the addition of ASSPE, and sausages containing 5% ASSPE were the highest in gumminess. In the sensory evaluation, sausages containing 5% ASSPE had the highest score in appearance and springiness. In conclusion, the addition of ASSPE in sausage had no effects on storage characteristics, but had a good effect on improvement of quality and sensory characteristics. Especially, 5% ASSPE sausage had good texture and high sensory characteristics due to increased binding capacity. These results suggest that 5% ASSPE may improve the quality and sensory characteristics of sausage.
The change of strength and water vapour diffusion resistant by soluble salts was investigated in the tuff and granite used in many stone monuments of Gyeongju area. With $Na_2SO_4$ and $CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$ were treated the rock samples to understand the difference of solubility. The densities of the tested rocks were increased by the impregnation of $CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$ and $Na_2SO_4$. The flexural strength was increased in the tuff samples but decreased in the granite as the salts increased in the pore. In the tuff, the uniaxial compressive strength was increased by $CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$, but decreased by $Na_2SO_4$. In the granite, it was decreased slightly by $CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$, but increased by $Na_2SO_4$. The water vapour diffusion resistant was increased by the salts in both rocks. As results, it was cleared that the mechanical strength colud be increased in early stage of weathering by the accumulation of salt and water vapour diffusion resistant.
This study was carried out to develop the soil amendment practice by phosphate solubilizing bacteria application in greenhouse chrysanthemum cultivation area with high salt accumulation. The experimental site (ShinWoo Flower, GwangJu) has been cultivated chrysanthemum for 15 years and showed significant salt accumulation. The phosphate solubilizing bacteria, Pseudomonas putida (KSJ11), Acinetobacter calcoaceticus (KSJ3) and Acinetobacter calcoaceticus (WP20) formulated on vermiculite for easy use, were applicated. Each 250L of phosphate solubilizing bacteria was applied for $82m^2$ before planting. Acinetobacter calcoaceticus (KSJ3; WP20) increased the amount of soluble phosphorus in an effective level. Particularly, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus (WP20) increased not only the level of soluble phosphorus but also potassium, calcium and magnesium resulting in the increase of EC in the soil. The level of nematode was also decreased with the non-treated increased. As a result, we suggest that selected phosphate solubilizing bacteria (WP20) could be a useful practice for soil amendment in chrysanthemum plantation soil and provided an opportunity to reduce the use of the fertilizer during the cultivation period.
A series of elastin-like proteins, $SKGPG[V(VKG)_3VKVPG]_n$-(ELP1-90)WP (n = 1, 2, 3, and 4), were biosynthesized based on the hydrophobic and lysine linkage domains of tropoelastin. The formation of self-assembled hydrophobic aggregates was monitored in order to determine the influence of cationic segments on phase transition properties as well as the sensitivity to changes in salt and pH. The thermal transition profiles of the proteins fused with only one or two cationic blocks (n = 1 or 2) were similar to that of the counterpart ELP1-90. In contrast, diblock proteins that contain 3 and 4 cationic blocks displayed a triphasic profile and no transition, respectively. Upon increasing the salt concentration and pH, a stimulus-induced phase transition from a soluble conformation to an insoluble aggregate was observed. The effects of cationic segments on the stimuli sensitivity of cationic bimodal ELPs were interpreted in terms of their structural and molecular characteristics.

The leakage current of transmission insulators contaminated with salt, clay, and kaolin was examined in the Gochang's Long Periods Testing Center. The Insulators were artificially contaminated and estimated with the method of equivalent salt deposit density(ESDD). The artificially contaminated insulators were installed with the same condition as in the real transmission power line and applied with 154 (kV). The leakage current of the artificially contaminated insulators was measured with environment conditions, such as temperature and humidity by the a automatic leakage current detecting system. The leakage current of heavily contaminated insulator was abruptly increased above 72[%] of humidity, even though the leakage current was similar between the contaminated and non-contaminated insulators below 72[%] of humidity. Also, it was found that the humidity was much more important than the temperature in the leakage current of transmission insulators. The leakage current of contaminated insulator was decreased when it was plenty of rainfall, resulting from natural washing.
Pyrantal pamoate's anthelmintic activity is due to its action as a neuromuscular blocking agent. It is generally well tolerated. Transient rises in SGOT levels have been reported in the drug-treated patients. Decreased levels of serum alkaline phosphatase post treatment were found in yound dogs. The present study was performed to investigate the possible toxic effects of pyrantal pamoate in pregnant mice progenies. The drug was given in different doses to these mothers in the first, second and third trimester. Serum alkaline phosphatase, SGOT and SGPT of one or two month old offspring were monitored. SGOT levels showed an increase in some doses in one and two month old offspring where alkaline phosphatase showed a decrease in some doses in one and two month old offspring. The latter effect may be due to osteoblastic alkaline phosphatase inhibition. The effect on SGOT levels, however, was difficult to explain, but may be due to a toxic effect on liver cells or cardiac muscles.

The present study addressed the efficacy of nanosized silica-silver for controlling plant pathogenic microorganisms. The nanosized silica-silver consisted of nano-silver combined with silica molecules and water soluble polymer, prepared by exposing a solution including silver salt, silicate and water soluble polymer to radioactive rays. The nanosized silica-silver showed antifungal activity against the tested phytopathogenic fungi at 3.0 ppm with varied degrees. In contrast, a number of beneficial bacteria or plant pathogenic bacteria were not significantly affected at 10 ppm level but completely inhibited by 100 ppm of nanosized silicasilver. Among the tested plant pathogenic fungi, the new product effectively controlled powdery mildews of pumpkin at 0.3 ppm in both field and greenhouse tests. The pathogens disappeared from the infected leaves 3 days after spray and the plants remained healthy thereafter. Our results suggested that the product developed in this study was effective in controlling various plant fungal diseases.
This study was performed to compare the activities of sulfate esters and sulfonate salts. (comparison of activities such as detergency, forming, permeation and patient of hard water). The one of the method is the combined use of nonionics and the other is the use of anionics alone. The results obtained are as follows: 1. The sulfonate salts are better soluble than the sulfate esters. 2. The lauryl system is better soluble than the sulfate esters. 3. The alkylol sulfate(CONH-OSO3H)that is induced amide radical to the fatty acid shows the excellent foaming power and detergency.

We found a high yield synthetic route to organic-soluble metal nanoparticles in the concentrated organic phase. The organic phase contains metal salt, amines, fatty acids, nonpolar solvent, and reducing agent. Even using only generic chemicals, organic-soluble silver and copper nanoparticles could be easily obtained by this simple and rapid reaction scheme at large scale. The hydrocarbon-protected metal nanoparticles showed excellent dispersion properties and were successfully printed onto polymer substrates. The printed pattern was heated at $200^{\circ}C$, which showed very low specific electrical resistance (< 10 uOhm$\cdot$cm), sufficient for conducting line of various printable devices.
Crystallins are a family of water-soluble proteins that constitute up to 90% of the wa-ter-soluble proteins in mammalian eye lenses, We present in this paper an alternative purification method for these proteins using polyethylene glycol/dextran aqueous two-phase extraction. Un-der the appropriate conditions, we were able to recover the γ-crystallin fraction essentially free of the remaining proteins. High concentrations of salt at a neutral pH maximize the recovery of γ-crystallins in the top phase and minimize the contamination by the other proteins present in the lenses. The proposed protocol decreases the separation time by about 50%. The complex partition behavior observed for these proteins reflects a delicate balance between protein/phase-forming species(various polymers and salts) and protein interactions. This is evidenced, in part, by the role played by the largest proteins in this group as a "pseudo"phase-forming species.
