The purpose of this research is to find a better win-win growth strategy of Large and mid-sized IT service enterprises. Efficient win-win growth for large and mid-sized enterprises is essential for acquiring a solid global competitiveness in IT service industry. However, previous studies lack generalized and detailed findings, and therefore past strategies were based on fragmented analysis. To develop an efficient win-win growth for Large and mid-sized enterprises, global benchmarking and an in-depth analysis on deep-rooted problems in IT service industry has been conducted. Past and present policies on IT service industry have been reviewed based on desirable co-growth structure. Based on research, current policies are unable to support co-growth, and collaborative efforts between Large and mid-sized enterprises as well as square deals are necessary for win-win growth. A new policy paradigm has been derived and a roadmap for efficient co-growth strategy has been suggested. The results of this research can be used for building a better IT service industry polices. In future studies, a longitudinal analysis on the proposed co-growth strategy can be conducted.
The objectives of this paper include the development of an agile prototype of SFFS, the $CAFL^{VM}$(Computer Aided fabrication of Lamination for Various Material), which is suitable for the multi-item and small-quantity production and various material fabrication. This paper includes remodeling of the layer slices for the 2D cutting, supplementing information of the layer slices and developing process conditions to fabricate products of various shape. And also includes developing control hardware as well as software by enhancing BOF of the manipulator to 3 degree for the precise 2D cutting. It will generate optimal layer trajectory considering the dynamic characteristics of the laser beam. The system can be used as a competitive agile protype system in terms of various materials, fabrication speed, and accuracy by CAD modeling precise layer slicing, material development, robot path control, and optimization of the support structure.
In recent years, non-volatile memory express (NVMe), a new host controller interface standard, has been adapted to overcome performance bottlenecks caused by the acceleration of solid state drives (SSD). Recently, performance breakthrough cases over AHCI based SATA SSDs by adapting NVMe based PCI Express (PCIe) SSD to servers and PCs have been reported. Furthermore, replacing legacy eMMC-flash storage with NVMe based storage is also considered for next generation of mobile devices such as smartphones. The Linux kernel includes drivers for NVMe support, and as the kernel version increases, the implementation of the NVMe driver code has changed. However, mobile devices are often equipped with older versions of Android operating systems (OSes), where the newest features of NVMe drivers are not available. Therefore, different features of different NVMe driver implementations are not well evaluated on Android OSes. In this paper, we analyze the response time of the NVMe driver for various Linux kernel version.
A biofiltration system using activated carbon/polyurethane composite as solid support inoculated with Bacillus sp. was developed for treating a gaseous stream containing high concentrations of H$_2$S. The effects of operating condition such as the influent H$_2$S concentration and the empty bed contact time (EBCT) on the removal efficiency of H$_2$S were investigated. The biofilter showed the stable removal efficiencies of over 99 % under the EBCT range from 15 to 60 sec at the 300 ppmv of H$_2$S inlet concentration. When the inlet concentration of H$_2$S was increased, the removal efficiencies decreased, reaching 95 and 74%, at EBCTs of 10 and 7.5 sec, respectively. The maximum elimination capacity in the biofilter packed with activated carbon/polyurethane composite media was 157 g/m$^3$/hr.
Major concern in modern industry is how to reduce the time and cost for product efficient production. Among many mechanical parts of a satellite, bracket plays an important role to support the load when the satellite is launched to space. so enough strength and stiffness. A designer could add unnecessary material and strength it so as not to fail when it used. But if mechanical part of satellite is over-designed, cost will rise and it also goes against to the aim of lightness. To achieve lightness and enough strength and stiffness, optimization algorithm should be introduced in design process. In this study, conceptual design of bracket is carried out to increase the performance of satellite. Some parameter which could change the weight of this part are selected as design variables. Total weight of bracket is to be minimized while displacement and stress should not exceed limit. Size optimization is done with 3D solid element and PLBA, the RQP algorithm. The weight of 0.262kg of initial model is reduced to 0.241kg after optimization process, so 9.8% of weight reduction is obtained.
This paper presents a CAD program develpoed on a microcomputer in order to support graphic and computational assessment of ergonomic problems associated with the design of a man-in-cab system. The program is coded to help workspace designers with ergonomic evaluations needed in the design stage. This paper proposed a biomechanical -ergonomic evaluations needed using man and workplace models. The human model is developed to have dimensions obtained from the Korean anthropometric data reported in 1992. Its graphical representation is based on a wire-frame model but, whenever necessary, body segments can be represented by a solid model with hidden line/faces removed and shaded. Workplace models are presented for cabs of the excavator, one of the most popular construction vehicles. A workplace model consists of an operator seat, a steering wheel. two control levers, two pedals, and a control panel. The workplace elements can be modified in their sizes, positions, and orientations by changing the reference point and design parameters. An algorithm for the view test is suggested and loaded to provide a visual evaluaiton of the overall layout of a workplace model.
This paper presents a finite element (FE) analysis of the torsional rigidity of a two-stage cycloid drive. The cycloid disk makes contact with a number of pin-rollers simultaneously and eccentric shafts transmit not only torque of the spur gear stage to the cycloid disk, but also that of the cycloid disk to the output disk. Contacts between the disk and pin-rollers are simplified as linear spring elements, and the bearing of eccentric shaft is modeled as a rigid ring that has frictional contact to the disk and an elastic support. FE analysis for an ideal solid cycloid drive was performed and verified by a theoretical calculation. Accurate contact forces were then estimated by iterating between FE analysis for contact forces and Hertz theory calculations for nonlinear contact stiffness. In addition, torsional rigidity of the cycloid drive is analyzed to show that the bearing and nonlinear Hertz contact theory should be considered in analysis and design of a cycloid drive, which was verified with experiments. Finally, the effects of contact stiffness, bearing stiffness and cycloid disk structural stiffness according to the cycloid disk rotation on the torsional rigidity were investigated.
Wire-suspensions in the conventional actuators mechanically support the moving part and guarantee the accuracy of the actuator without tangential tilt actuation. However, such a suspension configuration has considerable stiffness in the tangential tilt direction with two additional wire beams for the tangential tilt. Thus, we performed a design sensitivity analysis for the wire-suspension stiffness of 4-axis actuator and controlled the main parameters such as distance among wire-suspensions and wire-suspension length to allow tangential tilt flexibility. The elasticity of frame PCB that supports the moving part by wire-suspensions was also exploited to improve the flexibility of wire-suspension in the tangential tilt direction. A novel suspension structure was devised by establishing eight wire-suspensions at both sides of the moving part for electrical connection to coils. The magnetic circuit according to the proposed 4-axis actuator using multi-polar magnet and coils was also suggested for the generation of electromagnetic forces in the focusing, tracking, radial and tangential tilt directions.
Alumina supported polyphosphoric acid (PPA/$Al_2O_3$) was successfully prepared by impregnation of alumina support by polyphosphoric acid and characterized using FT-IR spectroscopy, the $N_2$ adsorption/desorption analysis (BET), thermal analysis (TG/DTG), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. The catalytic behavior of this new solid acid supported heterogeneous catalyst was checked in the synthesis of 14-aryl-14H-dibenzo[a, j]xanthenes by cyclocondensation reaction of ${\beta}$-naphthol and aryl aldehydes under solvent-free conditions. The results showed that the novel catalyst has high activity and the desired products were obtained in very short reaction times with high yields. Moreover, the catalyst can be easily recovered by filtration and reused at least three times with only slight reduction in its catalytic activity.
Assessing students' knowledge can be a challenging endeavor, as researchers attempt to capture the full complexity and potential development of children's ideas. In this study, the Dynamic Science Assessment (DSA) method (Magnusson, Templin, and Boyle, 1997) was employed to investigate 9-12 year old students' understandings of light, while engaging in multiple tasks with a flashlight with various reflectors and mirrors. The results showed that DSA was effective in providing an opportunity to establish a Zone of Proximal Development, in addition to diagnosing a student's prior understanding. Throughout the interview, a student showed a conceptual model of light as being a solid single entity whose shape can be determined by the shape of the casing of a flashlight. However, as DSA provided phenomena that could not be explained by his unitary model, the student began to re-examine his original conceptual model, and attempted to revise it. This study addressed how Dynamic Science Assessment can help us better understand, not only students' current state of understanding, but also a potential development of understanding in their ZPD. In that sense, this study argues that we should pay more attention to the instructive role of classroom assessment that can promote and support further development of students' deeper understandings.
