  • This paper presents an accuracy evaluation method for muzzle velocity measurement systems. Among various measuring techniques, the solenoid coil scheme and the doppler radar scheme are considered due to their popularity in applications. The error sources are first identified and their effects on the accuracy of the measuring systems are quantified using mathmatical equations. The theoritic accuracy limits are then verified through comparison with experimental results. From the accuracy point of view, they turn out to be standard velocity measuring systems.

  • This paper refers to the results of a study on the usefulness of simulation techniques based on both modeling and experiments of KICK DOWN pressure control circuit using an duty solenoid valve controlled by pulse width modulation for an automatic transmission. In this study, dynamic characteristics of solenoid valve plunger and first pressure are verified. Besides, this paper shows the design data for improvement of feeling in changing of gear by means of simulation according to varying the size of jet orifice and temperature of automatic transmission fluid, which are the important variables of the first pressure.

  • In this paper, to evaluate the performance of solenoidal typed injector, research and development had been performed on injector controller in order to respond to various performance tests, which is not only economical but easy extensible on its channels. The developed controller based on embedded system is able to precisely control the injection timing and quantity by high-pressured from the injector. Also, it is able to performance evaluation by measuring the electrical characteristics of solenoid. Additionally, it is enable precision timing control of light source and high speed camera as it is able to precisely photograph the timely spray pattern of injector.

  • In this study, an intelligent solenoid valve controller has been developed for automatic maintaining of filters in a dust collecting system. This controller has automatic controllability of solenoid valves' ON/OFF time depending on the clogging status of filters, and then it can extend the filters' lifetimes, decrease the power consumption, and make effective operation of the system possible. This controllability has been executed by the fuzzy theory that utilizes the workers' experimental knowledges, the control expert's knowledges and the differential pressures between the inlets and outlets measured by the sensors.

  • A screw driver is widely used in assembling machine parts or electronic products such as the printed circuit board with a housing. As the parts to be assembled becomes small and precise, the higher precision of the controlling screw driver torque is required. However, because the operator controls the fastening torque based on experience, it must be inexact and the setting procedure will be time consuming job. Thus the screw driver which can exactly control the fastening torque is developed utilizing a bellows in this paper. The bellows is expanded by the inner air pressure and contracted by the spring operation. The bellows type driver is composed of a clutch mechanism with two solenoid valves and a pressure sensor. Those valves are controlled using the detected bellows pressure by the sensor. When the pressure reaches the setting value, the exit solenoid valve is opened to release the air pressure from the bellows so as not to deliver further torque. Through a series of experiments, the performance is examined and verified.
