고온초전도 솔레노이드의 임계전류 향상을 위한 형상 최적화 (Shape Optimization to Improve the Critical Current of HTS Solenoid)

  • To enhance the critical current of superconducting coil, the magnetic field experienced by superconductors in a coil should be minimized. This is true for both low $T_{c}$ and high $T_{c}$ superconductors, and the difference between the two lays in their isotropic/an-isotropic characteristics. In this paper, we propose a shape optimization algorithm to reduce radial magnetic field components in HTS solenoid to enhance the critical current of a solenoid. In the algorithm, finite element method and continuum shape design sensitivity formula were employed. The objective function is to minimize the maximum radial magnetic fields in a solenoid with a constraint of constant solenoid volume condition. In this paper, the details on algorithm are introduced and the calculated optimized shapes are presented.

  • For the reliability assessment of solenoid actuator, firstly, we analyzed the cause of major failures and the effect of each failure modes through FMEA and FTA, and decided the main test items through 2-stage QFD. And then, as a measure of life of solenoid actuator, TypeII censored five data were collected from and operation test which was performed as the life test of solenoid actuator. In this paper, we present the reliability parameters of solenoid actuator like shape parameter, scale parameter, etc., which they are produced by MINITAB analysis and marking of Weibull probability paper using the measure of life, and also present the 6 kinds of detailed failure mode analysis.

  • An air-fuel ratio control is essential in reducing hazardous exhaust emissions from a compressed natural gas(CNG) engine, and can be accomplished by accurate control of gas injection flow. In this study, theoretical research was conducted on injection characteristics of a solenoid gas injector, and injection experiments for calibration and analysis were performed. Various factors for gas injection flow such as injection pressure, gas temperature, and supply voltage are studied. A dynamic flow equation of the natural gas was proposed on the basis of flow dynamics theories and results of the injection experiment. The verification of the dynamic flow equation of the solenoid injector was carried out with a large CNG-engine applied to an urban bus. Air-fuel ratio control experiments were conducted in both steady and transient state. Results of injection experiments for the solenoid injector and the CNG-engine was proved the control method proposed herein to be effective.

  • Model structure of solenoid valve in the automatic transmission is determined as 5th order system by the signal error test. For determining parameter of the solenoid valve, parameters in time discrete model are searched by the least square method. By bilinear transform, we have found the model of solenoid valve in s domain. Afterward, experimental output data is compared with simulated output data by MATLAB having identified parameter. As the result, experimental data is agreed with simulated data very well.

비정상 유한요소법을 이용한 고속응답 솔레노이드 밸브의 동적거동해석 (Dynamic Analysis of Fast-Acting Solenoid Valves Using Finite Element Method)

  • It is intended to develop an algorithm for dynamic simulation of a fast-acting solenoid valve. The coupled equations of electric, magnetic, and mechanical systems should be solved simultaneously in a transient nonlinear manner. The transient nonlinear electromagnetic field is analyzed by the Finite Element Method (FEM), which is coupled with nonlinear electronic circuitry. The dynamic movement of the solenoid valve is analyzed at every time step from the force balance acting on the plunger, which includes the electromagnetic force calculated from the Finite Element analysis as well as the elastic force by a spring and the hydrodynamic pressure force along the flow passage. Dynamic responses of the solenoid valves predicted by this algorithm agree well with the experimental results including bouncing effects.

  • The micro electronic control technology with developing microcomputers make great contribution to electrohydraulic control systems. The electrohydraulic pulse control simplifies in conjunction with power electronic amplifier and high speed operated solenoid valves. It is necessary to valves to convert electronic pulse signal to hydraulic pulse flow as fast as possible. This study deals with the speed control of an oil hydraulic motor operated by two way high speed solenoid valves. The valves acts as converters of electronic-pulse signals to hydraulic power. By constructing systems in which a hydraulic motor is operated by two solenoid valves, the pulse with modulation method (PWM) has adopted as the speed control of hydraulic motor systems. The static and dynamic characteristics of the systems are investigated by the experiment. It is clarify that a hydraulic motor operated PWM show good performance as a control component, achieving accurate velocity control.

  • In this study a new pattern of pressure control of hydraulic cylinder using high speed On-Off solenoid valve in the electro-hydraulic system has been suggested. The control valve is 3-way high speed On-Off solenoid valve which is operated by PWM(Pulse Width Modulation)control signal. The high speed On-Off solenoid valve has a tendency to induce severe pressure fluctuation in the hydraulic actuator so it has not been used for the purpose of closed loop control with direct pres-sure feedback. In this study closed loop control with direct pressure feedback is enabled by using a digital filter which has linear minimum mean square filter algorithm. Through some experiments it is confirmed that stable pressure control can be realized by the proposed control technique.

  • The performance of the solenoid actuated hydrogen injector and the capacitive peak-hold type driving circuit was predicted through the modeling of the injector and the driving circuit the modeling was composed of the driving circuit, the solenoid, the moving parts of the injector, and the hydrogen injection system. The performance of the injector through the modeling was compared with the results of the solenoid and injector rig tests, and those were consistent with each other. Through the prediction of the injector performance, the effects of the components such as electrical resistor, capacitor, and injector spring are easily known to the injector performance required.

  • As the analysis and design technologies for electro-magnetic actuation has advanced over the years, proportional solenoid valve is gaining acceptance in wide range of industrial and commercial applications because of its superior characteristics over the conventional AOV or MOV, such as improved performance, reduced maintenance costs. This research deals with the position controller design of two-stage flow control solenoid valve. Investigation of steady-state characteristics and dynamic model identification for pilot disc is performed. Least square method to minimize the error magnitude of frequency response between the closed-loop and target system is applied to the design of PI-controller gains. From the experiments of step and frequency response, it is concluded that the controller meets the performance specification of target system, which verifies the usefulness of controller design method for proportional solenoid valve.

  • Machine of textiles let off is equipment supplying constantly fabrics. Nowdays, as it is replaced band - brake type with hydraulic motor driven type, we looked into characteristic of hydraulic solenoid pilot direction valve(SPDV) for controlling acceleration performance of hydraulic motor. This study deals with controlling the initial speed of textiles let off machine. Finally, to control the initial speed of hydraulic motor, we controlled the adjustment screw of SPDV by a hand. Test which was carried out in the laboratory shows that initial speed of textiles let off could be improved by controlling adjustment screw of SPDV. Also, the results of experiment work were compared with dynamic characteristic of other on/off solenoid direction valve(SDV).
