Kinetic Studies on Production of Pullulan by Aureobasidium pullulans

  • Xinlei studies on the production of pullulan by Aureobasidium pullulans using batch culture in a 15L bioreactor were carried out. The mathematical models were obtained in this study, which provided a reasonable description for the biomass, the product, and the substrate variation with time. The values frets the mathematical models were satisfactorily coincided with the experimental data for the biomass of A. pullulans, the production of pullulan and the utilization of sucrose as the sole carbon source.

  • 본 연구에서는 신발산업을 대상으로 하여 전략적 공급사슬 프레임워크를 제안하였다. 신발산업(Footwear Industry)은 자연 여건 또는 악천후로부터 발을 보호하기 위하여 사용되는 구두, 운동화, 평상화 실내화, 슬리퍼 등을 제조하거나 판매하는 산업을 말하며, 일반적으로 신발 완제품의 제조산업과 주구성품인 창(Sole), 갑피(Upper) 등을 제조하는 부품 제조산업으로 크게 분류된다. 신발산업은 한때 국내의 대표적인 수출상품이었으나 1990년대부터 쇠퇴기로 접어들었으며, 최근에 신발산업이 패션산업으로 부각되면서 지방자치단체의 전략산업으로 육성되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 신발산업의 체계적인 공급망 관리를 위한 기초 연구로서 전략적인 관점에서 신발산업의 공급사슬을 분석하고, 이를 바탕으로 전략적 공급사슬 프레임워크를 제안하고자 한다.

하천 저질에서 분리한 Formaldehyde 분해 미생물의 특징 (Characterization of Formaldehyde-degrading Bacteria Isolated from River Sediment)

  • A bacterium growing on formaldehyde as a sole carbon source was isolated by the dilution method from an enrichment culture containing formaldehyde. The isolated strain, YK-32, was identified as Pseudomonas sp. by morphological, biochemical, and genetic analyses. Pseudomonas sp. YK-32 completely degraded 0.05% formaldehyde within 24 hrs. The isolated strain had a high level of formaldehyde dehydrogenase activity, which is thought to be one of the important factors for formaldehyde degradation, when cells were cultivated in the presence of formaldehyde.

전침 및 추나 요법을 병행한 족근관 증후군 증례보고 (A Case Report of Patient with Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome Treated by Korean Medicine Treatment in Combination with Electro-acupuncture and Chuna Manual Treatment)

  • This study is to observe the effect of Korean medicine treatment combined with electro-acupuncture and chuna manual treatment on tarsal tunnel syndrome inpatient. The patient, diagnosed as tarsal tunnel syndrome, was treated by Korean medicine treatment in combination with electro-acupuncture and chuna manual treatment. We measured visual analogue scale(VAS). Neuropathic pain scale(NPS) was adopted as a method of measuring the treatment results of pain & hypoesthesia. Rt. sole numbness & pain decreased from VAS 10 to VAS 4. Rt. foot paresthesia decreased from VAS 10 to VAS 4 and Rt. ankle pain was disappeared. NPS score decreased from 80 to 62. Korean medicine treatment in combination with electro-acupuncture and chuna manual treatment is proved to be helpful to improve the symptoms of the tarsal tunnel syndrome patient.

  • Our country is still suffering from much work outage, nearly 80% of total outage time, in 22.9kV-Y multi-grounded distribution lines. Therefore, KEPCO which is the sole utility owned by the Korean government has developed outage-free work techniques to improve the reliability of power supply in Our country. This paper is to introduce the developing process and good effects of outage-free work techniques, and the equipment developed and applied in Our country. This paper will aid many utilities to try to reduce the work outage.

  • Wood cell-wall modification with acetic anhydride, lumen filled with styren monomer and methyl methacrylate, and a combination of these two treatments were studied for their effectiveness for dimensional stability. Compared to those of untreated Pinus densiflora Sieb. et Zucc and sole acetylated red pine, The combination of acetylation and impregnation with methy methacrylate greatly reduced water absorption, increased ASE to the best and gave better bending strength and compression strength.

  • This study developed a new separated shperical bridge bearing that can be used for replacement of existing bridge bearings without crushing bearing-concrete. The separated spherical bearing have the upper and lower sole plate connected by bolts to the upper plate under bridge-girders and the lower plate on bearing-concrete. The targets of the separated spherical bearing are the maximum 3 mm of up-lifting height during replacement and the maximum required time of 30 minutes. Four separated spherical bearings are manufactured and replaced the existing bearings of a railway bridge in service and the replacing tests was performed. The number of the tests is two and the target of maximum 3 mm and 30 minutes was satisfied.

Wafer Spin Coating 공정에서 증발과 용액이 박막 형성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Numerical Study on Combined Solution and Evaporation during Spin Coating Process)

  • The fluid flow, mass transfer, heat transfer and film thickness variation during the spin coating process are numerically studied. The model is said to be I-dimensional because radial variations in film thickness, concentration and temperature are ignored. The finite difference method is employed to solve the equations that are simplified using the similarity transformation. In early time, the film thinning is due to the radial convective outflow. However that slows during the first seconds of spinning so the film thinning due to evaporation of solvent becomes sole. The time varing film thickness is analyzed according to the wafer spin speed, the various solvent fraction in the coating liquid, and the various solvent vapor fraction in the bulk of the overlying gas during the spin coating is estimated.

Current Status of Passive Solar Building Applications in the Republic of Korea

  • In the past few years, the subject of passive heating has been the major area of our concern due to the specific climate conditions prevailing in our region. More recently, however, other important issues such as retrofitting, passive cooling, optimized integration of conservation and passive solar, and daylighting have emerged as the areas of frequent discussions. KIER, the sole R&D organization in solar energy technologies, has accomplished significant results in passive building designs and actual demonstrations of experimental passive buildings. As a result of such endeavor by KIER, the passive solar buildings have been very well received by the Korean public. The current number of passive solar buildings in Korea is well over 1,600 (as of Dec. 1986). In this paper, broad aspects of the present status of passive solar technology utilization in Korea are presented.

아닐린 생분해 균주의 분리 및 특성 (Isolation and Characterization of Aniline Degrading Bacteria)

  • 한강의 지천으로부터 채취한 시료에서 29종의 아닐린 분해 균주를 분리선발하였다. 분리 균주중 10, 균주에 대하여 동정 시험하여 본 결과 9균주는 Pseudomonas 속이었고 한 균주는 Acinetobacter 속이었다. 전체 29균주중 plasmid를 갖고 있는 균주는 모두 5종이었으며 이들 5균주중 4균주는 meta 경로를 통하여 아닐린을 분해 이용하였고 나머지 한 균주는 ortho 경로를 통하여 아닐린을 분해하였다. meta 경로 이용 균주의 하나인 Pseudomonas acidovorans 4A1은 230kb 크기의 plasmid를 갖고 있었으며, 접합실험과 curing 실험을 통하여 이 plasmid에 아닐린 분해 유전 정보가 수록되었을 가능성을 확인할 수 있었다.
