Ag 함량이 진공증발법으로 형성된 광금지대 (Ag,Cu)(In,Ga)Se2 태양전지에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Ag Content on Co-evaporated Wide Bandgap (Ag,Cu)(In,Ga)Se2 Solar Cells)

  • Ag addition in chalcopyrite materials is known to lead beneficial changes in aspects of structural and electronic properties. In this work, the effects of Ag alloying of $Cu(In,Ga)Se_2$-based solar cells has been investigated. Wide bandgap $(Ag,Cu)(In_{1-x},Ga_x)Se_2$ (x = 0.75~0.8) films have been deposited using a three-stage co-evaporation with various Ag/(Ag+Cu) ratios. With Ag alloying the $(Ag,Cu)(In_{1-x},Ga_x)Se_2$ (x~0.8) films were found to have greater grainsize and film thickness. Device were also fabricated with the $(Ag,Cu)(In_{1-x},Ga_x)Se_2$ (x~0.8) films and their J-V and quantum efficiency measurements were carried out. The highest-efficiency $(Ag,Cu)(In_{1-x},Ga_x)Se_2$ solar cell with Eg > 1.5 eV had an efficiency of 12.2% with device parameters $V_{OC}=0.810V$, $J_{SC}=21.7mA/cm^2$, and FF = 69.0%.

  • This study is focused on the improving effectiveness of a photovoltaic system. The characteristic of crystalline silicon solar cells, that 0.5% reduction in generating power is occurred by increasing temperature $1^{\circ}C$ of module. Typically, average solar generating power is higher spring and fall than summer. Degradation phenomena shall shorten the life of the module when the temperature of modules is $70^{\circ}C$. Decreasing temperature 40degree of the module and increasing the solar power 20% was presented using the water impinging jet method on the surface of photovoltaic cells. It is shown that Impinging jet have an effected on heat and deliver effective substance from the area in which the injection is effective.

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the operating performances of the evaporation desalination system with solar energy. This system was designed to use evacuated solar collector as the heat source, supplying the required heat energy and photovoltaic power as the electric source, supplying required power to pumps in the desalination system. The 5kW photovoltaic power generation system to make the electricity, the single-stage fresh water generator with plate heat exchanger, and remote control and monitoring system. Solar desalination system was designed and installed in Jeju-island, Korea in 2006, after about 4 years of operation, usability and stability of solar desalination system was guaranteed. The system comprises of the desalination unit which was designed to have daily fresh water capacity of $2m^3$, a $120m^2$ evacuated tubular solar collector to supply the heat, a $6m^3$ heat storage tank, and a 5.2kW photovoltaic power generation to supply the electricity to hydraulic pumps for the heat medium fluids. On a clear day, average daily solar irradiance in Jeju-island was measured to be $500W/m^2$ and the daily fresh water yield showed to be more than 500 liters under this condition. After around three years of a long term operation of the system from January 2007 to August 2009, average daily freshwater yield was analyzed to be around $330{\ell}$. The relationship equation between solar irradiance and freshwater yield was found to be y=1.1806x - 107.89.

동아시아 지역의 태양에너지 자원 정밀조사 (A Detailed Survey of Solar Energy Resources in East Asia Areas)

  • Since the solar radiation is the main input for sizing any solar photovoltaic system, it will be necessary to understand and evaluate the solar radiation data. The works presented here are the analysis of solar radiation data for East Asia areas. The data, which consist of the global radiation on horizontal surface, were measured at 16 different stations over the South Korea and were estimated by using satellite at 12 different stations over the North Korea from 1982 to 2004. Also the data over the Japan have been collected for 30 years for the period from 1941 to 1970. The Result of the analysis shows that the annual-average daily global radiation on the horizontal surface is 3.55 kWh/$m^2$. We conclude, based on the analysis, that East Asia areas have sufficient solar energy resources for the photovoltaic power generation system.

  • The glass for crystalline PV module fabrication should have high thermal and mechanical resistance to environmental also have high transparency. In this paper, we analyze the optical characteristics of glasses for photovoltaic module application. The transmittance of several glasses are measured. The effects of texturing on low iron glass, glass thickness, anti-reflective glass, photocatalyst-treated glass and special glass are compared each other. Then this will give some information to select PV glass for manufacturing. The detailed analysis is described in the following paper.

  • In this paper. we analyze electrical characteristics of photovoltaic module according to mechanical load test. Using the equipment for giving load on the surface of module, dark current-voltage is measured. By varying load from 0kg to 206kg, slight different I-V curve is detected. From this, reduced shunt resistance is roughly calculated and micro crack is assumed to be happened. system Through this experiment, periodic external force on PV module might give an negative effect. The detailed analysis is described in the following paper.

  • Increasing the efficiency of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) by the fabrication of new photoelectrodes (PEs) is an important challenge. This study examined the photovoltaic parameters of DSSCs composed of a $TiO_2$ PE with $WO_3$ nanoparticles (NPs). A number of PEs with the same thickness but different concentrations of $WO_3$ NPs in the $TiO_2PE$ were prepared. The morphology and structural properties of the prepared PEs were examined by field-emission scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, respectively. The effects of the $WO_3$ NPs mixing concentration on the efficiency of DSSCs were investigated under simulated solar light irradiation.

  • This paper aims at enhancing the electric production efficiency of photovoltaic(PV) system. The electrical power of PV system is proportional to light intensity on a PV module surface. In this paper, we apply two types of systems to enhance power generation efficiency. First, of all, concentring sunlight using specular surface and one-axis tracking system which traces the sun with vertical direction are applied in this project. From this, we analyze the fixed type method and power generation efficiency.

A Case Study of Resolving Conflict in Energy Infrastructure Siting by the Solar PV Project

  • The growing demand for new energy infrastructure has often been encountered with the difficulties of siting in power plants and electric transmission lines. Siting such large-scale and complex facilities produces so many-sided issues that it is highly necessary to develop an approach to resolving the related problems and conflicts. This paper introduces how the stakeholders have handled the issues and resolved conflicts with residents opposed the construction of 765 kV transmission line. The solar photovoltaic power generation, called "Hee-Mang Sunlight Power project", is used for persuading residents to agree with constructing high-voltage transmission line and sharing benefits. It is considered how the project performance such as generation output and resident's profits is and proposed what the project should be revised and supplement. The project is shown that the intractable spiting in energy systems can be smartly resolved with cost-effective institutional solutions instead of relatively expensive technical ones.

  • Development of renewable energy is promoted to achieve sustainability. So researchers are seeking and developing a new, clean, safe and renewable energy. However, solar energy is an extreme intermittent and inconstant energy source. In order to improve the photovoltaic system efficiency and utilize the solar energy more fully, and the DC power vary with module temperature, it is necessary to study the characteristics of photovoltaic P-V according to the external factors. This paper presents the analysis of characteristics of photovoltaic P-V according to the module temperature. The results show that it seems that when the module temperature increases, the DC power increases. But actually, because when the irradiation increases, the DC power increases, the result of the relationship between DC power and the module temperature of solar cell will be effects by the increasing irradiation.
