무기성 토양개량제들의 혼합비율에 따른 토양이화학성의 변화 (The Change of Soil Physicochemical Properties by Mixture Ratio of Inorganic Soil Amendments)

  • 본 연구는 골프장의 상토조성 시 사용되는 토양개량제의 적절한 활용과 이해를 위해 입경과 화학적 특성이 비슷한 무기성 토양개량제의 3종의 혼합비율에 따른 모래상토의 물리 화학적 특성변화를 조사하였다. 토양개량제의 혼합비율에 따라 상토의 물리 화학성을 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. A와 C가 pH가 95% 수준에서 상관성을 나타내었고, C의 양이온치환용량이 95% 수준에서 상관성을 보여 토양개량제의 특성에 따라 상토의 토양화학성에 영향을 주었다. 상토의 토양물리성 결과를 통해 USGA 기준으로 평가할 때, 최적의 혼합비율은 토양개량제 A와 B에서는 3%였고, C는 7~10% 였다. 각 토양개량제들의 혼합에 따른 토양물리성변화에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 물리적 요인은 총공극량이었다. 토양개량제의 혼합비율에 따른 토양개선효과 를 비교할 때, B는 모세관공극과 비모세관공극에서, C는 모세관공극, 총공극 및 수리전도 도에서 고도의 상관성을 나타내었다(P<0.05). 이들 결과를 통해 골프코스의 상토조성에 사용되는 무기성 토양개량제는 그 종류와 혼합비율이 USGA 상토의 뿌리층 개량의 토양 이화학성에 영향을 미치고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

모래와 세립토로 구성된 소수성 흙의 습윤성 분석 (Analysis on Wettability of Soil Composed of Sand and Fine-Grained Soil with Hydrophobic Surface)

  • 본 연구에서는 흙 입자 표면이 소수성으로 구현된 사질토에 대하여 세립분 함유율이 사질토의 습윤성에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위한 시험을 수행하였다. 습윤성은 주문진 표준사와 세립토가 함유된 사질토에 대하여 물방울 시험 결과로부터 얻은 접촉각으로 평가하였다. 시험 결과, 모래와 세립토로 구성된 사질토의 습윤성은 소수성 수준과 세립토 함유율 조건에 따라 변화하였다. 세립토 함유율이 사질토의 습윤성에 미치는 영향을 평가한 결과, 5% 세립토 함유율 조건에 있어서 소수성 수준이 1%와 3%인 사질토의 접촉각은 표준사의 접촉각에 비하여 각각 94.4%, 32.4%가 감소하였다. 그리고, 소수성 수준이 5%인 경우, 5%와 10%의 세립토 함유율 조건에 대한 접촉각 감소율은 각각 24.4%와 37.3%였다. 즉, 세립토 함유율은 사질토 접촉각의 크기 및 증감율에 큰 영향을 미치기 때문에, 오염물 거동 예측에 있어서 지반의 세립토 함유율에 따른 습윤성 평가가 수반되어야 한다.

실시간 앙상블 가뭄전망정보 생산 체계 구축 및 평가 (Development & Evaluation of Real-time Ensemble Drought Prediction System)

  • The objective of this study is to develop and evaluate the system to produce the real-time ensemble drought prediction data. Ensemble drought prediction consists of 3 processes (meteorological outlook using the multi-initial conditions, hydrological analysis and drought index calculation) therefore, more processing time and data is required than that of single member. For ensemble drought prediction, data process time is optimized and hardware of existing system is upgraded. Ensemble drought data is estimated for year 2012 and to evaluate the accuracy of drought prediction data by using ROC (Relative Operating Characteristics) analysis. We obtained 5 ensembles as optimal number and predicted drought condition for every tenth day i.e. 5th, 15th and 25th of each month. The drought indices used are SPI (Standard Precipitation Index), SRI (Standard Runoff Index), SSI (Standard Soil moisture Index). Drought conditions were determined based on results obtained for each ensemble member. Overall the results showed higher accuracy using ensemble members as compared to single. The ROC score of SRI and SSI showed significant improvement in drought period however SPI was higher in the demise period. The proposed ensemble drought prediction system can be contributed to drought forecasting techniques in Korea.

토양정화 공법 및 단위공정에 따른 토양건강성 평가 (Evaluation of Soil Health Affected by Soil Remediation Technologies and Its Processes)

  • The Soil Health Index (SHI) developed by Park et al. (2021) is used to evaluate soil health on remediated soils collected from several remediation project sites and monitored the changes of SHI during the remediation process of land farming, soil washing, and thermal desorption. In the case of land farming, the soils remediated below a legal standard didn't show any significant changes in indices of SHI except the downgrade of available phosphate from medium to a low level. The SHI scores were ranged from 52 to 56 in the contaminated soil and 54 to 57 in the remediated soil. With soil washing, bulk density changed from high to a low level, and available phosphate was lowered from medium to low level. As the SHI scores were evaluated as 58 to 63 for contaminated soil and 38 to 42 for remediated soils. For thermal desorption, soil respiration rate was reduced from high to low level and SHI was scored as 50 to 51 for contaminated soils and 43 to 47 for remediated soils. Even though any abrupt changes of the SHI in remediated soils were not identified in the soils used in this study, it is expected that soil in different conditions such as types and concentrations of contaminant and soil characteristics would result in distinguished changes of the SHI. There is a room for more studies collect diverse information on SHI across the country.

유기질 혼합토의 토공재로서의 활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Utilization of Organic Mixed Soil as Earthwork Materials)

  • 본 연구는 유기질토를 토공재로서 활용할 목적으로 시료A(모래+유기질토)와 시료B(풍화토+유기질토)의 두 가지 시료를 유기질토 혼합비를 5%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%로 혼합하여 각종 실내시험을 실시하였다. 시료A, B의 용출시험에 의한 COD값은 순수 유기질토에 비해 상당히 낮은 값을 보였으며, 초기 침출수의 COD 값은 침출수 수질기준을 약간 상회하였지만 용출시작 4시간후의 COD 값은 매우 적게 나타났다. 모래와 유기질토의 혼합토는 유기질토 혼합비 40%(유기물함유량 11.3%)내에서는 성토재로서의 활용이 가능한 것으로 나타났으며, 풍화토와 유기질토의 혼합토는 유기질토 혼합비 30%(유기물함유량 16.4%)이내에서 토공재로서 활용이 가능하다고 판단되어진다.

신문용지 및 인쇄용지 슬러지의 무기성분 및 수용성 이온 분석 (The Analysis of Inorganic Compounds and Water Solubles Ions in Paper Mill Sludges from NewsPaper and Printed Paper)

  • To apply paper mill sludges to soil as fertilizer, paper mill sludges were investigated to predict suitability and maleficence for soil. Newspaper and Printed Paper sludge were analyzed by IC (Ion Chromatography) and ICP-OES (Induced Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer). As a results, harmful materials in two types of sludges were below standard by notified Ministy of Environment (ME). Also ionic substances causing the water pollution in sludges were less than the standard value by notified ME. Thus sludges from newspaper and printed paper is presumed that there are no water pollution and soil contamination.

광미 자연풍화에 따른 광미공극수의 지구화학적 진화와 지하수 오염영향 - 시흥광산의 사례 (Geochemical evolution of mine tailing porewaters and groundwater pollution - Case for Shiheung mine)

  • The Shiheung mine was closed in 1972 and has been abandoned since then. Although some restoration work has been done, there still remain mine failings in and around the mine, posing a potential environmental hazard. Mine tailings and the porewater extracted from the tailing were investigated to see any evidence of elemental release and migration to adjacent groundwater and soil in the field. The pHs of the tailing range from 6.24 to 7.23. Calcite in the studied area seems to influence on such neutral pH range. Depth profile of mine tailing demonstrate elements have been leached and removed as a consequence of weathering during disposal. This is also supported by the findings from porewater analysis, corresponding the trends in the mine tailings. The concentrations of Cu, Cd, Pb, Zn in the tailing porewater exceed the standard value of EPA for drinking water and this implies groundwater can be contaminated through infiltration of the porewaters, which ultimately will be discharged as leachate from the mine tailing. Groundwater samples collected near the mine area do not show high metal concentrations, except for Fe, which were detected over drinking water standard.

표준삼축시험으로부터 사질토에서의 한계상태정수 결정에 관한 연구 (I) : 고찰 및 적용 (Determination of Critical State Parameters in Sandy Soils from Standard Triaxial Testing (I) : Review and Application)

  • 한계상태 토질역학을 사질토의 전단거동에 대한 적용을 용이하게 하기 위해서, 표준삼축 시험으로부터 사질토에서의 한계상태정수 결정에 관하여 종합적인 고찰을 실시하였다. 첫째로, 문헌에 있는 어휘론적인 차이점들을 명확히 함으로써, 한계상태는 대변형에서의 궁극적인 최종상태를 나타냄을 추론하였다. 둘째로, 한계상태정수의 특성들에 관하여 검토하였고, 초기상태, 구주 하중조건 및 배수조건에 따른 한계상태선의 유일성과 유사한계상태조건의 민감성을 검증하였다. 셋째로, 한계상태정수로부터 액상화후 전단강도 즉 액상화된 흙에서의 신뢰할 수 있는 궁극적인 전단강도를 산정하기 위하여 한계상태 토질역학을 예제로서 적용하였다.

천연경신(天然更新)의 요건(要件)으로서의 리기다소나무 곰솔 및 회양목의 내음성(耐陰性)의 조사(調査) (Investigation on the shade tolerance of Pinus rigida, P. Thunbergii and Buxus Koreana)

  • It has already been noted that some tree species, denoted as tolerant species, endure to behavior shadiness in growth than those species, denoted as intolerant species, since this fact of tolerance must be involved in silvicultural practice, the present author, with pinus rigida, pinus Thunbergii, and Buxus koreana, investigated the relation of degree of shadiness to soil moisture condition. Because tolerant and intolerant trees must be considered from the standpoint of their ability to use any of the factors that are likely to be at low concentration in the dense or open forest. The observed results may be summarized as follows : 1. The ability of tolerance of the species to shadiness is differently concluded by the base with which the analysis was made, i.c. Height, growth, diameter growth, T-R ratio or dry matter increase and so on. Regarding this point root collar increment or dry matter increase were considered more reasonable bases for discussing the tolerability. 2. When total length growth, including both stem and root, is taken as standard for the comparison of the ability of tolerance for each species, higher soil moisture condition and thicker shadeniss lessened the ability of pinus rigida, seedlings. Pinus Thunbergii, showed. However more moisture resistant than pinus rigida. Buxus koreana, seemed to have stronger ability of tolerance than any others. 3. When total dry matter content taken as standard, the results obtained are given in Fig, 3. In pinus rigida, the soil moisture supplemented the lack of light.

연약지반상 위생매립지 안정성 평가에 대한 문제점 분석과 개선방향 (Slope Stability Evaluation System of Sanitary Landfill on Soft Ground and Its Reliability)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the possibility of normalization of the distibutions of soil parameters taken from soft ground and the reliability of the safety factors of specific objects on it, including sanitary landfill. Through this study it is found that distributions of soil parameters could be adjusted to appropriate normal distributions as possibility density functions(PDF), and that especially the group of initial cohesions and the coresponding safety factors has a perfect linear correlation. According to those results the PDF to initial cohesion as possibility parameter can not only be tmsformed to the PDF to safety factor but also, conseqently, the reliability of the safety factor(SF) simply based on the mean value of soil parameter(Co) can be calculated or easily picked up from the standrad normal distribution table. It is therefore concluded that even though calculated values of safety factors are over any standard requirements some possibility of risk both to the objects and natural soft ground could be still existing, and also a new standard value for this slope stability control system should be derived just by adjusting old one according to the magnitude of risk possibility.
