  • As the frequency of earthquakes in some regions including Pohang City has increased in recent years, the need for countermeasures against earthquakes in Korea is demanded from various aspects. Liquefaction occurred after the earthquake, and local residents' anxiety increased due to the lack of preparation for and coping with the earthquake. In order to cope with these phenomena and relieve the anxiety of local residents, we analyze the limitations of the existing earthquake response system and come up with a method to solve them. Therefore, we propose, implement, and prove the possibility of a one-stop mobile support diffusion system capable of expressing and spreading evaluation-based earthquake information that can actively cope with disaster situations.

  • The objective of this study was to conduct a systematic review and network meta-analysis to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of various types of acupuncture for menopausal hot flashes (HF). Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were retrieved from 8 electronic databases, and the risk of bias was evaluated for the included studies. Pairwise meta-analysis and network meta-analysis were performed using Review Manager and R software for indirect comparison and ranking, respectively. In total, 23 RCTs (2,302 patients) were eligible for systematic review, of which 10 were included in network meta-analysis. Network meta-analysis showed manual acupuncture (MA) had the highest probability of reducing HF frequency and severity, followed by sham acupuncture (SA), electroacupuncture, usual care, or no treatment; furthermore, warm acupuncture significantly improved menopause-specific quality of life compared with MA or electroacupuncture. Compared with hormone replacement therapy, acupuncture had less efficacy in reducing HF frequency but enhanced menopause-specific quality of life. There was no significant difference between MA and SA in mitigating HF. The existing evidence showed that MA could be used for alleviating menopausal HF. However, it is recommended that more high-quality RCTs should be performed.

  • Background: Progression of the tear size and erosion of the greater tuberosity (femoralization) in the supraspinatus tear makes it difficult to repair or increases the risk of a re-tear. This study examined the proximal articular surface and greater tuberosity of the humeral head in plain radiography. Methods: Two-hundred forty-seven cases, whose anteroposterior (AP) radiographs were taken correctly, were included from 288 cases, in whom the status of the supraspinatus had been confirmed by surgery. After downloading the plain AP radiograph as DICOM, the radius of the circle apposed at the superior half of the articular surface of the head, and the distance between the circle and the farthest point of the greater tuberosity ('height' of the greater tuberosity) were calculated using the software (TechHime, Korea). MRI checked the number of torn tendons and degree of muscular atrophy. Results: The following were encountered: 93 intact supraspinatus, 50 partial-thickness tears, and 104 full-thickness tears. In the analysis using the 93 intact cases, the average radius of the rotation center was 25.3 mm in male and 22.3 mm in female. The average height of the greater tuberosity from the circle with the same rotation center was 4.3 mm in male and 4.2 mm in female with no statistical significance. The correlation between the reparability of supraspinatus and height of the greater tuberosity, fatty infiltration, and muscular atrophy was confirmed. Conclusions: The height of the greater tuberosity from the circle with the same rotation center was 4.3 mm in male and 4.2 mm in female. This height was strongly correlated with muscular atrophy and fatty infiltration of the supraspinatus tendon.

  • In this paper, we propose a new blockchain technology that could comply with GDPR. The proposed model can prevent illegal access by controlling access to the personal information according to a access policy. For example, it can control access to the information on a role-basis and information validation period. The core mechanism of the proposed model is to encrypt the personal information with public key which is associated with users attributes policy, and then decrypt it with a private key and users attributes based on a Attribute-based Encryption scheme. It can reduce a trusted third-part risk by replacing it with a number of nodes selected from the blockchain. And also the private key is generated in the form of one-time token to improve key management efficiency. We proved the feasibility by simulating the proposed model using the chaincode of the Hyperledger Fabric and evaluate the security.

  • Consumer expectations for drama VFX increased as the influx of overseas dramas increased due to the growth of OTT service, but the current production time of the drama production system has a negative effect on the quality and completion of work. This paper proposes a background rendering using a game engine and a subject rendering using background HDRI as environmental lighting. The proposed workflow is expected to reduce the production time of VFX and improve the quality of VFX. The proposed workflow was verified in 3 steps. Comparing game engine and rendering software according to the same lighting environment and camera distance, comparing rendering with existing rendering method and background HDRI generation, and validating the proposed workflow. For verification, quantitative evaluation was performed using Structual similarity index and histogram. This study is expected to be one of the options to improve the quality of VFX and improve the risk.

  • With the development of information technology, the size of insurance fraud is increasing rapidly every year, and the method is being organized and advanced in conspiracy. Although various forms of prediction models are being studied to predict and detect this, insurance-related information is highly sensitive, which poses a high risk of sharing and access and has many legal or technical constraints. In this paper, we propose a machine learning insurance fraud prediction model based on blockchain, one of the most popular technologies with the recent advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. We utilize blockchain technology to realize a safe and trusted insurance information sharing system, apply the theory of social relationship analysis for more efficient and accurate fraud prediction, and propose machine learning fraud prediction patterns in four stages. Claims with high probability of fraud have the effect of being detected at a higher prediction rate at an earlier stage, and claims with low probability are applied differentially for post-reference management. The core mechanism of the proposed model has been verified by constructing an Ethereum local network, requiring more sophisticated performance evaluations in the future.

  • Background: This study aims to empirically compare and evaluate the current status of medical accessibility and health inequality between people with disabilities and without. We calculated the ACSC hospitalization rate, which is a medical accessibility index, for hypertension, a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease that accounts for more than 20% of deaths among people with disabilities using the 2016 National Health Insurance Big Data. Methods: The subjects of the study were a total of 601,520, including 64,018 people with disabilities and 537,501 people without. Logistic regression was performed to analyze the differences in hypertension hospitalization rates adjusted for demographic and sociological characteristics and disease characteristics using SAS 9.4 program. Results: Before adjusting for the characteristics, the hypertension hospitalization rate of people with disabilities was 1.55%, and the people without disabilities were 0.49%. After adjusting, it was found that people with disabilities were 2.11 times higher than people without disabilities, and it was statistically significant. Conclusion: The preventable hospitalization rate of people with disabilities is higher than that of people without, suggesting that the disabled have problems with access to medical care and health inequality. Therefore, the government's policy improvement is required to close the medical gap for the disabled.

  • Background: Healthcare workers' attitudes toward vaccination have been widely described in the literature, but a restricted amount of studies assessed healthcare students' knowledge, attitudes, and opinions on this issue. This study aimed to estimate the influence of a degree course on knowledge and immunization behavior among healthcare students and to compare medical students with students from other health profession degree programs to identify possible differences. Methods: A multicenter, cross-sectional study was performed in 2018 in 14 Italian Universities (3,131 students were interviewed). A validated questionnaire was used to assess knowledge, attitudes, and opinions toward vaccinations, with a specific focus on influenza vaccine and attitudes toward mandatory vaccination policies. Statistical software STATA® 14 was used. Results: Significant differences were recorded between medical students and other healthcare students. The intention to get vaccinated against influenza during the next season and having been vaccinated in the previous season was higher in the medical group (p < 0.001). In the group of students of other health professions, we registered a lower probability of identifying themselves as a high-risk group for contracting infectious diseases as a consequence of their profession and health status (aOR 0.49; CI95%: 0.40-0.60) and an increased likelihood of defining their level of knowledge on vaccine-preventable diseases and related vaccinations as "insufficient/sufficient/fair" (aOR 1.31; CI95%: 1.11-1.56). Conclusions: Results show several differences between medical students and students of other health professions when it comes to vaccination knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions, as well as a general low tendency to be vaccinated against influenza.

  • The textile industry in Korea, the dyeing sector is an energy-intensive sector and has low per-unit productivity due to its labor-intensive nature. If the defective rate of dyed fabrics is high, additional costs are incurred due to an increase in production cost due to re-dyeing. Therefore, the goal of the dyeing factory was to minimize the defect rate rather than to save energy. It was difficult to check the dyeing state of the fabric in real time due to the risk of accidents due to burns or pressure when dyeing in a high-temperature and high-pressure environment. In this paper, a complex sensor that can measure the exhaustion rate of dye solution in the dyeing machine using turbidity, pH, and conductivity sensors was proposed, and the experimental method and experimental results were analyzed.

  • Digital transformation represents one of the main obstacles facing several government, private, and non-profit sectors that help stabilize digital transformation in the Arabic region. One of the helpful ways to improve the level of freedom, productivity, and flexibility among employees to accept the BYOD approach is using their own devices to perform their work both in and outside the workplace. This study focuses to present the differences between the main three economic sectors, which represent the most important pillars of the economy in Saudi Arabia within the Kingdom's Vision 2030. BYOD also has great importance to the stakeholders for raising their awareness by expressing the implications, if the concept of BYOD is widely and correctly adopted. The study uses the diffusion of innovation (DOI) framework and quantitative analysis data to determine the main dimensions and important factors that help increase the awareness of the target audience. The number of participants in this study was 830, and the participants are mixing between the government, private, and non-profit sectors. The main findings showed a significant impact of several factors such as the importance of knowledge, ease of use, employee satisfaction, risk awareness, and attention to increase the level of acceptance in three main sectors study for using the BYOD approach widespread and professional use.
