Communication Software Development and Experiments for a Cell Controller in a CIM System (자동화 시스템내 셀 제어기의 통신 소프트웨어 개발 및 실험)

  • The demand for automatic manufacturing systems is increasing. Flexible Manufacturing System(FMS) is usually considered as a soluting for the shop floor automation. One of the difficulties in FMS is the communications problem. Since various machineries with different communications protocoles are included, applying a unified scheme is almost impossible. Therefore, a systematic approach is a key point to solve the communication problem. A cell is difined as an automation unit where closely related for a job reside together. A cell is a messenger between upper level computers and lower level machine equipment. In this research, the fonctions of the cell are defined to have more capabilities than conventional cells since a cell can be often a total manufacturing system is a small to medium sized factory. The cell conducts communications with different machines through the communications schemes established here. A set of software system has been developed according to the defined communication. The software has been tested for a simulation and real experiments for proof.

  • A S/W testing for vital railway signaling system have been important because of the increase of software usage for signaling. And also the safety of vital signaling system is required by int'l std. such as IEC 61508. While much efforts have been reported to improve electronic hardware's safety, not so much systematic approaches to assessment software's safety. In this paper, we propose a automation schemen of software testing tool for railway signaling system. From that, we show the functional architecture and internal components of the tool.

  • Trees are important ground objects that cause oxygen and reduce carbon dioxide in urban areas. For management of the trees, many studies using LIDAR data have been conducted. But, they rely on overseas developed LIDAR data processing software applications because there is a lack of domestically developed software applications. Therefore, this work was intended to propose an automation process that helps to extract trees automatically from LIDAR data. The proposed process has the function to classify LIDAR data and to extract building regions and trees automatically. It was applied to a study place in Yongin to conduct a test. As a result, about 88% of trees were extracted from the automation process.

  • Recently, the RPA (Robotic Process Automation) solution, which has been spreading in Korea and overseas, allows users to easily automate their tasks with the application GUI (Graphic User Interface), and the number of Korean financial companies which Implemented for automating their business is increasing now. However, as the major supervisory regulations that financial institutions must comply with are based on the existing traditional SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), it is not proper to be directly applied to RPA that automates end-user works on the level of user's system interface. Therefore, in this paper, we organized the important financial supervisory rules and control items that should be considered for RPA implementation, then surveyed 24 financial companies which have implemented RPA for checking how they applied them. Finally, we would like to present the necessity of revision of related compliance.

  • This paper suggests a new industrial automation system architecture which adopts the Real-Time CORBA as a solution for the recently emerging problems, such as cost eciency, interoperability with different networks, software productivity, etc. This paper shows how the adoption of RT-CORBA helps end-users to improve software productivity in the heterogeneous distributed system integrate eldbus with different kinds of network easily and lower the cost of hardware medication and extension, Finally, CRECO - a real- time CORBA which is in development and suited to industrial automation system - is introduced. RT-Linux and Probus - two major components while implementing the CRECO - are dealt with primarily.

  • We have implement indoor positioning system to supply orientation information, We have used ultrasound in indoor positioning system for distance and orientation measurements, then propose a set of methods to calculate orientation from an array of well placed ultrasonic sensors operating in the indoor positioning system, We have design and implement a indoor positioning system using a combination of hardware and software and demonstrate end-to-end functionality of the system, We have implement ZigBee based home automation system using location-aware System.

  • Previous research is focus on testcase generation automation using message sequence diagram based on metamodel. but that research is not enough for testcase genaeration automation using state diagram based metamodel. so in this paper is adopt Model Driven Architecture (MDA) mechanism for using metamodel and model transformation. and we suggest testcase automation mechanism using state diagram in UML. we will decrease cost of embedded software design and testcase genaration and increase quality of embedded software using metamodel mechanism.

Library automation and its impact on library (도서관자동화와 자동화에 의한 영향)

  • This paper consists of three chapters. Changes and objectives of library automation are discussed in chapter 1 and 2 respectively. The dominant trends in library automation which begun in 1960's can be described ; the 1960's was dominated by primitive local systems and the 1970's by online networks. And in the 1980's, there is a return to local system but with various options to networks. The major objectives of library automation are to improve speed of technical process, to get economic efficiency, and to provide better services. But the library planning automation should take account of experiences of the others that those objectives are not easily achieved. The impact of automation on a library is discussed in chapter 3. First, emphasis of libraries shifts from a collection orientation to an access orientation. Computer allowed to access not only to materials of their own library but also to those of others. Second, libraries should reconsider all their activities and services. Those must be reorganized by several principles such as rationalization, intelligent use of automation, and maximizing of human self-fulfillment. Third, change on organizational structure is anticipated. Flat organization in stead of existing hierarchy will provide rapid communication for problem - solving and intensify professionalism. Machine with proper capabilities and well programed software are prerequisites for library automation. But beyond these prerequisites, human factor should be stressed as well as mechanical factor. Therefore, understanding of changes due to automation, aggressive acceptance of trend, and su n.0, pport of organization are required in order to get successful results.

  • Recently the idea of a home automation has been an important issue in many publications and home appliances companies. Home automation is a house or living environment that contains the technology to allow devices and systems to be controlled automatically. Remote and local control are useful to keep home comfortable and to support the elderly and the disabled people. In this paper, we discuss possible developments of Bluetooth wireless technologies and describe the hardware for devices and software for the considerations of a home automation system. Finally, we have validated the testbed by simulating in the Bluetooth home network.
