  • In this paper, the navigation computer design of RPV(remotely piloted vehicle) using GPS is investigated, and its hardware and software structures are described. The proposed hardware adopts the common PC configuration by using 5016A micro PC card and software is divided into several modules such as navigation module, guidance module and control module, etc. The performance of the navigation computer is verified through PILS(process in the loop simulation).

  • Pantograph, which collects current from cartenary system, is one of important parts of high-speed train. Kinematic analysis is basic component of pantograph design. But kinematic analysis is very complex and time-consuming. Therefore numerical calculation of pantograph kinematics is necessary. In this study, pantograph kinematic analysis software was developed and relationship between kinematic parameters and pantograph performance was investigated.   • 코로나19로 인한 비대면 소비 트렌드의 확산으로, 매장 내의 설치된 키오스크의 수가 늘어나고 있다. 키오스크로 인한 인건비 및 관리비용 절감이라는 장점이 있지만 디지털 약자인·노약자들은 키오스크 조작이 어려워 사용이 어렵고, 문제가 발생했을 때 직원이 유일한 도움이라는 문제가 있다. 이 논문에서는 얼굴 인식을 통해 노약자를 인식하고 키오스크 챗봇을 통하여 사용을 도와주는 시스템을 제안한다. 키오스크 챗봇을 이용하면 노약자들이 키오스크를 쉽게 이용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • Structural design of most nonprismatic Pre-Engineered Building Systems (PEBS) is performed using optimizing software developed in foreign countries. In this study, a structural optimizing software for the design of 3-D structures of nonprismatic PEBS is developed according to the allowable stress design method of AISC2005 and KBC. Optimizing structural design with nonprismatic members is carried out by repeating the process of structural analysis and member design to minimize the weight of a structure. According to the optimizing design results of 2-D and 3-D structures with nonprismatic members, there are considerable steel savings in designing structures with nonprismatic H-shaped built-up sections rather than with H-shaped rolled sections. When H-shaped built-up sections were used, the weight of the structural steel was reduced when AISC2005 specification rather than AISC1898 was used in the design. It is therefore concluded that utilizing the new AISC2005 specification is safer in preventingweb buckling because the height of a member is designed to be small despite some differences depending on the structural type.

  • In general, users of design software such as Photoshop, search for information online when they want to obtain related knowledge. However, it is very difficult to find the exact information they want about designs because available knowledge sharing systems are very broad in what they manage, and it is rare that such systems would provide any design-specific Q&A or exchange of information functionality. In the paper we development a video based system for sharing design knowledge that supplies Q&A, lecture, knowledge trade function etc. utilizing multimedia like text, image and video reflecting the characteristics of design knowledge. The system are expected to contribute to the competitiveness of products through sharing design knowledge. In the near future the system will need to expand to a framework that can be shared with a variety of knowledge, as well as design knowledge.

  • During the initial thermal design process, determining the thermal effect of various design variables in a complex orbital thermal environment is time-consuming. To save time in the initial design phase, it is necessary to quickly derive optimal design parameters and predict the temperature. To address these challenges, Veritrek, a software specialized in optimal design using a reduced-order model (ROM), was released in 2018. In this paper, we utilized the Veritrek software to build a reduced-order model, conduct sensitivity analysis, and perform optimal design analysis for a graphite sheet-based cryogenic cooler thermal control system. The goal was to determine the optimal design values for the number of graphite sheet layers, radiator area, and thickness that would meet the allowable temperature of the cryogenic cooler.

  • Online learning has become a widespread practice for students and teachers in acquiring and delivering knowledge. Education platforms have become prominent in the 21st century with the evolution of technology and the accessibility to online learning. As a result, various learning management systems (LMSs) have been introduced to facilitate online interaction between users. For instance, communication between students and teachers at school. However, there is a need to emphasise user engagement in LMS to enhance the online learning experience amongst students since the design of LMS affects user engagement. This study utilised a systematic literature review (SLR) that examined 74 articles published between 2014 and 2023, focusing on cross-cultural design (CCD), user-centred design (UCD), and usability in LMS design. This study aimed to review CCD and its association with UCD, user interfaces (UI), and user experience (UX) in the context of LMS. CCD has been introduced as an approach to design that embraces different cultures, languages, and social contexts, while UCD plays a significant role in defining user engagement for LMS. All elements in CCD and UCD help create a better user experience for LMS. Besides, this study reviewed the usability of selected LMS to give insights to developers in creating a positive user engagement. An insight into cultural factors that influence the usability of LMS has revealed their value for LMS design, such as the UI/UX elements. Initially, this study may guide future researchers in improving education quality by emphasising CCD and LMS usability, which can enhance user engagement.

Effects of Entrepreneur Characteristics and Software Innovativeness on Performance of Software Company: The Moderating Effects of Institutional Pressure (기업가 특성이 소프트웨어 혁신성 및 기업성과에 미치는 영향과 제도적 압력의 조절효과)

  • This study shows that a sustainable competitive advantage and entrepreneurial characteristics are necessary for a software company to achieve competitive innovation and growth. This study investigates various software company characteristics and the effects of various company factors as its main research objectives. The data used in this research model were collected from software companies in South Korea. A total of 211 questionnaires were collected over a period of two months in 2013. EXCEL, AMOS, and SPSS were used to derive the study results. The hypothesis testing results of this study are as follows. First, a software company's entrepreneurial innovativeness and risk-taking behaviors have a positive influence on software innovativeness. A greater sense of innovativeness and entrepreneurial orientation leads to a higher propensity to take risks in software development. Second, the characteristics of software innovativeness, and flexibility have a significant influence on software company performance. Innovation during the initial periods of software usage can create a high demand for improvements and new features, requiring a flexible software design. Finally, this study analyzes the software features of entrepreneurial characteristics and the influence of institutional factors on the characteristics of individual innovativeness and software development. Entrepreneurial characteristics can affect governmental or institutional support, policies, and legal frameworks to promote the role of software innovativeness. The results of this study imply that software companies can adopt an entrepreneurial approach to promote technology development and product development for achieving a competitive advantage in the industry. This study also analyzes the environmental factors that affect the software industry and their implications for policy makers.
