계산과학공학 플랫폼의 워크벤치 기반 동적 서비스 설계 및 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on Workbench-based Dynamic Service De-sign and Construction of Computational Science Engineering Platform)

  • 계산과학공학 소프트웨어 플랫폼인 EDISON( EDucation-research Integration through Simulation On the Net )은 클라우드 컴퓨팅 기반 웹서비스로서, 해석 소프트웨어를 이용한 웹 기반 시뮬레이션 서비스이다. EDISON에서는 사용자의 로컬 자원으로는 해석이 어렵거나 불가능한 계산과학공학 해석 문제를 웹 서비스를 통해 사용자에게 제공하며 미리 구축되어 있는 인프라 및 다양한 계산 노드를 통해 사용자에게 해석 결과를 제공한다. 그 결과로 사용자의 디바이스, 운영체제에 관계 없이 EDISON에 접근하여 계산과학 공학 해석 시뮬레이션을 수행할 수 있도록 웹 포털 환경에서 시뮬레이션 실행 환경을 제공한다. 본 연구의 목적은 현재 사용자에게 제공되고 있는 계산과학 공학 시뮬레이션 및 해석 결과 분석 플랫폼인 EDSION 시스템에 통합적인 유저 인터페이스를 제공하기 위한 워크벤치 기반 실시간 동적 서비스 설계 및 구축에 있다. 또한 로컬에서 사용하는 계산과학공학 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어 환경과 유사한 사용자 유저 인터페이스를 가지며 다양한 해석기와 전처리기, 해석 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어 등의 동적인 웹 환경을 구성할 수 있는 워크벤치 기반 사용자 시뮬레이션 서비스 환경 구성에 대해 고안하였다. 이러한 웹 서비스를 제공하기 위해 사용자에게 필요한 서비스를 포틀릿 단위로 구성하였으며, 그 결과로 워크벤치를 이용한 시뮬레이션 서비스를 구축하였다.

  • The design and implementation of an engine control system has become an important area in developing a new car, but the implementation of an engine control system is becoming a tedious and time-consuming work as the level of complexity increases. In order to shorten the development cycle of the control system, rapid control prototyping (RCP) technique deserves developers' attention. A new RCP platform has been developed for an automotive engine control application. This prototyping system strictly adheres to the layered architecture of the final production ECU, and separates the automatically generated part of software, or the application area, from the hand coded area, which generally carefully designed and tested because of the hardware dependency and the efficiency of microcontroller. The $Matlab{\circledR}$ tool-chain of Mathworks Inc. has been selected as a base environment in this study. A newly developed Engine Control Toolbox of Real-Time $Workshop{\circledR}$ converts a graphically represented control algorithm into optimized application codes and links them with other parts of the software to generate executable code for the target processor.

  • 드론과 무인항공기에 탑재되는 비행제어시스템은 설계단계에서부터 철저한 검증이 필수적이며, 이러한 검증은 비행제어 통합시험환경을 통해 이루어진다. 일반적으로 비행제어컴퓨터의 내부 상태를 실시간으로 모니터링하기 위해서는 별도의 디버거를 이용한다. 실시간 메모리 참조 및 Trace가 가능한 Emulator는 비교적 고가이고, JTAG Emulator은 실시간 동작이 불가능 하거나 현재의 고속 프로세서의 처리속도를 따라잡을 수 없는 한계가 있다. 본 논문에서는 NUTTX 기반 드론 비행조종컴퓨터 프로세서의 내부 모니터링 소프트웨어를 개발한 결과를 기술하였으며, 기능시험을 통해 그 기능이 정상적으로 동작되는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구 결과는 상용 Debugger와 비교하여 제공되는 기능은 제한적이지만, 예산이 제한적인 상황에서 본 시스템을 활용하여 비행제어시스템 검증에 충분히 사용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • This paper introduces the process for Multi-objective Optimization Framework (MOF) which mediates multiple conflicting design targets. Even though the extensive researches have shown the benefits of optimization in engineering and design disciplines, most optimizations have been limited to the performance-related targets or the single-objective optimization which seek optimum solution within one design parameter. In design practice, however, designers should consider the multiple parameters whose resultant purposes are conflicting. The MOF is a BIM-integrated and simulation-based parametric workflow capable of optimizing the configuration of building components by using performance and non-performance driven measure to satisfy requirements including build programs, climate-based daylighting, occupant's experience, construction cost and etc. The MOF will generate, evaluate all different possible configurations within the predefined each parameter, present the most optimized set of solution, and then feed BIM environment to minimize data loss across software platform. This paper illustrates how Multi-objective optimization methodology can be utilized in design practice by integrating advanced simulation, optimization algorithm and BIM.

Pile-soil-structure interaction effect on structural response of piled jacket-supported offshore platform through in-place analysis

  • In-place analysis for offshore platforms is essentially required to make proper design for new structures and true assessment for existing structures, in addition to the structural integrity of platforms components under the maximum and minimum operating loads when subjected to the environmental conditions. In-place analysis have been executed to check that the structural member with all appurtenance's robustness have the capability to support the applied loads in either storm or operating conditions. A nonlinear finite element analysis is adopted for the platform structure above the seabed and pile-soil interaction to estimate the in-place behavior of a typical fixed offshore platform. The SACS software is utilized to calculate the dynamic characteristics of the platform model and the response of platform joints then the stresses at selected members, as well as their nodal displacements. The directions of environmental loads and water depth variations have significant effects in the results of the in-place analysis behavior. The most of bending moment responses of the piles are in the first fourth of pile penetration depth from pile head level. The axial deformations of piles in all load combinations cases of all piles are inversely proportional with penetration depth. The largest values of axial soil reaction are shown at the pile tips levels (the maximum penetration level). The most of lateral soil reactions resultant are in the first third of pile penetration depth from pile head level and approximately vanished after that penetration. The influence of the soil-structure interaction on the response of the jacket foundation predicts that the flexible foundation model is necessary to estimate the force responses demands of the offshore platform with a piled jacket-support structure well.

상용코드 통합을 통한 미소기전집적시스템의 설계 소프트웨어 개발:DS/MEMS (Development of Design Software for MEMS integrating Commercial Codes: DS/MEMS)

  • A CAD-based seamless design system for MEMS named DS/MEMS was developed which performs coupled-field analysis, optimal and robust design. DS/MEMS has been developed by means of integrating commercial codes and inhouse code-SolidWorks, FEMAP, ANSYS and CA/MEMS. This strategy results in versatility that means to include various analysis model, corresponding analyses and approximated design sensitivity analysis and user friendliness that design variables are taken to be selectable directly from a CAD model, that the problem is formulated under a window environment and that the manual job during optimization process is almost eliminated. DS/MEMS works on a parametric CAD platform, integrating CAD modeling, analysis, and optimization. Nonlinear programming algorithms, the Taguchi method, and response surface method are made available for optimization. One application problem is taken to illustrate the proposed methodology and show the feasibility of DS/MEMS as a practical tool.

  • The paper describes a formalisation of a Design for Safety methodology in an integrated envi-ronment, outlines early developments of a software tool, and presents the results of an appli-cation of the methodology to a case study. The approach adopted attempts link safety per-formance prediction through the utilisation of appropriate technical tools, safety assessment deriving from risk-based methodologies and disparate design activities and issues. Black-board systems have been utilised as the platform in the development of the integrated design environment, allowing safety assessment to become an integral part of the design process. Finally, the case study addresses the application of the developed methodology to three dif-ferent arrangements of a conventional passenger Ro-Ro vessel, with the aim to demonstrate the validity of the process and methodology adopted. The findings are presented and dis-cussed, and recommendations given for the way forward.

  • Even though GNSS provides highly accurate navigation information all over the world, it is vulnerable to jamming in the electronic warfare due to its weak signal power. The United States and Korea have plans to use terrestrial navigation systems as back-up systems during outage of GNSS. In order to develop back-up systems of GNSS, an M&S software platform is necessary for performance evaluation of various vehicle trajectories and integrated navigation systems. In this paper a design method of an M&S software is proposed for evaluation of multiple radio positioning integration systems. The proposed M&S software consists of a navigation environment generation part, a navigation algorithm part, a GUI part and a coverage analysis part. Effectiveness of the proposed design method is shown by implementing an M&S software for the GPS, DME and eLoran navigation systems.

하이브리드 모바일 앱 프레임워크 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Hybrid Mobile App Framework)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존 웹앱 기반의 하이브리드 모바일 앱의 실행 성능 및 사용성을 개선하기 위하여 각 모바일 운영체제가 지원하는 네이티브 UI(User Interface) 및 각종 자원을 자바스크립트(JavaScript)를 이용하여 직접 제어할 수 있는 새로운 하이브리드 모바일 앱 프레임워크인 WApplE.js를 설계하고 구현한다. WApplE.js 프레임워크의 전체 소프트웨어 구조 및 레이어별 구성에 대하여 설계 결과를 제시하고, 구현된 하이브리드 앱 프레임워크에서 사용자의 API 호출 및 처리 프로세스에 대한 분석을 수행하며, 기존 프레임워크들과 특징을 비교하여 그 결과를 제시한다.

  • Remote and robotic telescopes are the most effective instrument for astronomical survey projects. The system is based on the dynamic operation of all astronomical instruments such as dome and telescope control system (TCS), focuser, filter wheel and data taking camera. We adopt the ASCOM driver platform to control the instruments through the integrated software. It can convert different interface libraries from various manufacturers into a uniform standard library. This allows us to effectively control astronomical instruments without modifying codes. We suggest a conceptual design of software for automation of a small telescope such as the new wide-field 0.25m telescope at McDonald Observatory. It can also be applied to operation of multi-telescopes in future projects.
