In this paper, it is proposed that JTAG fault injection environment and the results of the classification techniques that the reliability of embedded systems can be tested. As applying these, this is possible to quantitative analysis of vulnerable factor for system. The quantitative analysis for the degree of vulnerability of system is evaluated by faults errors, and failures classification schemes. When applying these schemes, it is possible to verify process and classify for fault that might occur in the system.

A number of studies have been conducted on predicting software faults, but most of them have been supervised models using labeled data as training data. Very few studies have been conducted on unsupervised models using only unlabeled data or semi-supervised models using enough unlabeled data and few labeled data. In this paper, we produced new semi-supervised models using tree algorithms in the self-training technique. As a result of the model performance evaluation experiment, the newly created tree models performed better than the existing models, and CollectiveWoods, in particular, outperformed other models. In addition, it showed very stable performance even in the case with very few labeled data.

Generators are the most complex and expensive single element in a power system. The generator protection relays should to minimize damage during fault states and must be designed for maximum reliability. A conventional CDR(Current Differential Relaying) technique based on DFT(Discrete Fourier Transform) filter have the disadvantages that the time information can lead to loss in the process of converting the signal from the time domain to the frequency domain. A WT(Wavelet transform) and WT analysis is known that it is possible with the local analysis of the fault and transient signal. In this paper, to overcome the defects in the DFT process, an application of WT for fault detection of generator is presented. This paper describes an selection of mother Wavelet to detect faults of generator. Using collected data from the fault simulation with ATPdraw, we analyzed the several mother Wavelet through the course of MLD(multi-level decomposition) using MATLAB software. Finally, it can be seen that the proposed technique using detail coefficient of Daubechies level 2 which can be fault discriminant of generator.

The frequency is an important operation parameter for the control, protection, and stability of a power system. The frequency as a key index of power quality can be indicative of system abnormal conditions and disturbances. Due to the sudden change in generation and loads or faults in power system, the frequency is supposed to deviate from its nominal value. It is essential that the frequency must be maintained very close to its nominal frequency. An accurate monitoring of the power frequency is essential to optimal operation and prevention for wide area blackout. As most conventional frequency estimation schemes are based on DFT filter, it has been pointed out that the gain error could cause defects when the frequency is deviated from nominal value. This paper presents an advanced frequency estimation technique using gain compensation to improve the performance of DFT filter based techniques. To evaluate performance of the proposed algorithm, the 765kV T/L system in Korea is simulated by EMTP-RV software. The proposed technique can reduce the gain error caused when the power system frequency deviates from nominal value.
We studied the risk analysis of fire and explosion caused by gas leak in underground-parking of gas vehicle. However, an entrance regulation of gas vehicles (H2/LPG/CNG etc.) to underground garages has not been enacted in Korea. Incase, a gas explodes in an underground parking garage placed in overcrowded residential area, such as an apartment, the scale of the damage would cause tremendous disaster. Faults of vehicle parts and management problems were evaluated by using the Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), which is a qualitative analysis method. The range of the damaged area by the explosion and the damage scale by the explosion pressure were analyzed by using the process hazard analysis software tool (PHAST). The study is expected to facilitate enactment of the regulation for the underground parking to restrict the gas vehicle.

In normal robot control systems without any actuator failures, it is assumed that actuator torque coefficients applied at each joint have normally 1's all the time. However, it is more practical that actuator torque coefficients applied at each joint are nonlinear time-varying. In other words, it has to be considered that actuators equipped at joints may fail due to hardware or software faults. In this work, actuator torque coefficients are assumed to have non-zero values at all joints. In the case of an actuator torque coefficient which has a zero value at a joint, it means the complete loss of torque on the joint. This paper doesn't deal with the case. As factors of performance degradation of robots, both actuator failures and uncertainties are considered in this paper at the same time. This paper proposes a robust adaptive fault-tolerant control scheme to maintain the required performance and achieve task completion for robot manipulators with performance degradation due to actuator failures and uncertainties. Simulation results are shown to verify the fault tolerance and robustness of the Proposed control scheme.

In this paper, an improved Space Vector Modulation (SVM) based fault tolerant operation on a nine-level Cascaded H-Bridge (CHB) inverter with an additional backup circuit is proposed. Any type of fault in a power converter may result in a power interruption and productivity loss. Three different faults on H-bridge modules in all three phases based on the SVM approach are investigated with diagrams. Any fault in an inverter phase creates an unbalanced output voltage, which can lead to instability in the system. An additional auxiliary unit is connected in series to the three phase cascaded H-bridge circuit. With the help of this and the redundant switching states in SVM, the CHB inverter produces a balanced output with low harmonic distortion. This ensures high DC bus utilization under numerous fault conditions in three phases, which improves the system reliability. Simulation results are presented on three phase nine-level inverter with the automatic fault detection algorithm in the MATLAB/SIMULINK software tool, and experimental results are presented with DSP on five-level inverter to validate the practicality of the proposed SVM fault tolerance strategy on a CHB inverter with an auxiliary circuit.

In this paper, modeling of overcurrent relay(OCR) to protect domestic AC electric railway Auto Transformer(AT) feeding system and operation characteristic analysis on overload condition are described. The target system of this paper is actual site where overload trip of circuit breaker occurs frequently. Because this AT feeding system is made of parallel single track which had a load(electric train) respectively, and is connected with only T phase of Scott Transformer. In addition, this system has been feeding 66kV voltage by KEPCO, not 154kV. We focus on protective coordination of Scott Transformer primary side and secondary side OCR for Korea single track AC electrical railway system in operation currently. We modeled single track AT feeding system and OCR. Also we performed faults and overload analysis for verification of OCR's setting values and system modeling. To analyze above mentioned research, we used PSCAD/EMTDC software tool.

iOS applications refer to the apps operating on iOS, a mobile OS developed by Apple. As iOS provides graphic user interfaces based on touch screens, most of iOS apps support GUIs. GUIs become increasingly important for iOS apps. So are GUI tests. As GUI functions are performed by event handlers, faulty event handlers could cause defects in GUIs. Hence, this study detects faults in event handlers as a way to test GUIs for iOS apps, and suggests how to generate test cases by re-defining input domains of event handlers.

Collaborative Cyber-Physical Systems (CCPS) are those systems that contain tightly coupled physical and cyber components, massively interconnected subsystems, and collaborate to achieve a common goal. The safety of a single Cyber-Physical System (CPS) can be achieved by following the safety standards such as ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 or by applying hazard analysis techniques. However, due to the complex, highly interconnected, heterogeneous, and collaborative nature of CCPS, a fault in one CPS's components can trigger many other faults in other collaborating CPSs. Therefore, a safety assurance technique based on fault criticality analysis would require to ensure safety in CCPS. This paper presents a Fault Criticality Matrix (FCM) implemented in our tool called CPSTracer, which contains several data such as identified fault, fault criticality, safety guard, etc. The proposed FCM is based on composite hazard analysis and content-based relationships among the hazard analysis artifacts, and ensures that the safety guard controls the identified faults at design time; thus, we can effectively manage and control the fault at the design phase to ensure the safe development of CPSs. To justify our approach, we introduce a case study on the Platooning system (a collaborative CPS). We perform the criticality analysis of the Platooning system using FCM in our developed tool. After the detailed fault criticality analysis, we investigate the results to check the appropriateness and effectiveness with two research questions. Also, by performing simulation for the Platooning, we showed that the rate of collision of the Platooning system without using FCM was quite high as compared to the rate of collisions of the system after analyzing the fault criticality using FCM.
