그림책활용 독서치료프로그램이 여성결혼이민자의 자아존중감, 사회적 유능감 및 개인적 성장과 가족관계에 미치는 효과 (The effects of bibliotherapy program using picture books on self-esteem, social competence, personal growth and family relationships of married immigrant women)

  • Objective: This study explored benefits of a bibliotherapy program using picture books for self-growth supporting married Immigrant Women settle down as a healthy member of the Korean society. Method: This intervention program was implemented on twelve married immigrant women (and another twelve women as a control group), and their self-esteem and social competence before and after the intervention were examined. In addition, the researcher kept observation journals and conducted post-program interviews with the participants after the completion of the program to understand the changes in family relationships. Result: The results of this study are as follows: (1) the self-esteem scores of participants had increased after the intervention program, however, there was not significant differences between control and experimental groups, (2) the experiment group made more progress in improving social competence, and (3) the study confirmed through qualitative analysis that the program made positive contributions to improving the participants' quality of family relationships. Conclusion: Based on these results, implications for further research and practices were discussed.

당뇨병 환자를 위한 지역사회 중심 자조관리 프로그램의 효과 (The Effect of a Community-Based Selp-Help Management Program for Patients with Diabetes Mellitus)

  • Purpose: This study was done to assess the effects of a self-help intervention on clinical, lifestyle and psycho-social outcomes in patients with Type II diabetes. Methods: Eligible adults with Type II diabetes were randomly assigned to either the intervention group receiving the diabetes self-help or the control group receiving usual care. Of the 36 patients who completed the study, 15 were in the intervention group and 21 were in the control group. The self-help group consisted of six weekly sessions covering aspects of diabetes self-care and using continuing education, discussion, and structured social activities. Outcomes included changes in glycemic control, knowledge, self-management behaviors, diabetes-related self-efficacy, and health-related quality of life. Analysis of covariance was used to compare outcomes between the groups, adjusting for baseline measures. Results: After the six week intervention, significant improvements from the baseline were observed in the measurements of self-management behaviors, diabetes-related self-efficacy, and health-related quality of life for the intervention group. Conclusion: The findings provide preliminary evidence that a diabetes self-help group intervention can benefit diabetes patients in self-management behaviors, diabetes-related self-efficacy, and health-related quality of life. However, larger longitudinal studies are needed to determine the most efficacious self-management methods to sustain long-term glycemic control and psychological well-being.

청소년을 위한 정신건강 개입 : 사회불안을 중심으로 한 학교-기반 프로그램 (Mental Health Intervention for Adolescents : A School-Based Program to Address Social Anxiety)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to establish a school-based mental health intervention. The success of which was indexed by its effects on the social anxiety symptoms of the enrolled adolescents. Methods : This program for promoting mental health among adolescents in the community was adopted by three middle schools that volunteered to participate in the project. The program included screening for emotional problems related to social anxiety, depression, suicide, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Case management was provided for groups considered high-risk for depression, suicide, or post-traumatic stress disorder; cognitive-behavior therapy was provided for those at high-risk of developing social anxiety. Additionally, educational programs for the prevention of suicide, a "loving life" module, and mental health promotional campaigns were also included. In total, 1,100 middle school students completed self-report questionnaires. Twenty-five students in the high-risk group for social anxiety participated in a cognitive-behavior therapy program, comprising eight sessions, and conducted by two clinical psychologists. Results : Following the suicide prevention education program, suicide awareness among students increased and coping strategies were improved. In addition, the loving life program was associated with positive self-perceptions by many students. Furthermore, social anxiety symptoms showed a statistically significant difference after the cognitive-behavior therapy program. After the therapy, not only did social anxiety symptoms improve, depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation decreased significantly, while self-esteem and psychological resilience significantly increased. Conclusion : A school-based mental health intervention was successfully implemented in three middle schools and improved the mental health of the participating students. Therefore, this intervention could be widely implemented to promote positive mental health among middle school students.

  • This study examined the effectiveness of a social competence program for mentally challenged(IQ 58-74) and/or somewhat autistic 6- and 7-year old children with peer relationship difficulties. The Hierarchical Model of Social Competence by Guralnick(1992) provided the framework of the experimental program. The intervention consisted of 16 sessions: 2 intervention teachers implemented each session for 90 minutes once a week. Target behaviors were to initiate interactions with others, to respond to behaviors of teachers and peers, to participate in group activities, and to express their needs to others with speech. Data on the frequencies of target behaviors, the behavior episodes and parent reports were analyzed. Most of children became to be more sociable, although there were individual differences in the changes in target behaviors.

독거노인을 위한 지역사회기반 프로그램에서 사회적 상호작용 평가(ESI)의 적용- 광주지역 독거노인을 중심으로 - (The Application of Evaluation of Social Interaction(ESI) on Local Community Base Program for Solitary Senior Citizen)

  • 목적 : 광주 지역의 독거노인의 지역사회에 기반한 프로그램 안에서 사회적 상호작용 평가(Evaluation of Social Interaction; ESI)의 유용성 뿐 아니라 작업치료 중재 측정의 효율성을 검증하고자 한다. 연구방법 : 독거여성으로 치매예방 지역사회기반 프로그램에 참석한 대상자 중 본인이 사회적 상호작용이 부족하다고 인식한 대상자 6명을 모집하여 연구하였다. 작업치료중재과정모델은 이론적인 체계를 제공하였다. ESI로 사전 검사를 하였고, 5주간의 수공예와 원예 작업 중심의 프로그램을 제공했고 사후검사로 프로그램의 효율성을 측정하였다. 결과 : 지역사회를 기반으로 한 프로그램에 참여하는 동안 참여자의 사회기술 수행에 관련하여 치료사의 작업적 중재의 효과성을 ESI로 평가하였다. 그 결과 집단의 사전, 사후의 ESI 로짓(logit)점수는 의미 있는 차이를 보였다(t=-7.362, p=0.001). 결론 : 본 연구는 국내에서 일상의 작업을 하는 동안 사회기술 수행과 관련하여 중재의 효과를 검증한 ESI의 유용성을 제시한 첫 번째 연구이다. 앞으로 OTIPM을 기반으로 하여 치매예방 프로그램의 배경 안에서 작업치료를 계획하고 효율성에서 ESI를 적용할 수 있을 것이다.

정신건강 어려움이 있는 국내 초등학생의 학교-기반 중재 : 체계적 고찰 (School Based Intervention with Mental Health Problem in the Elementary School : Systematic Review)

  • 본 연구는 정신 건강에 어려움을 가진 국내 초등학생의 학교기반 중재를 체계적으로 고찰하여 추후 더욱 효과적인 정신건강 관련 학교 기반 중재를 모색하고자 하였다. PRISMA 체크리스트와 흐름도를 통해 체계적 고찰을 시행하였고, 데이터베이스는 한국교육학술정보원, 국가과학기술센터, 국회도서관을 이용하였다. 대상 연구의 중재 특성, 대상자 특징, 평가도구로 분석하였다. 최종적으로 25개의 연구를 선정하였으며, 학교 기반 중재 특징에 따라 심리교육 중재(자기관리기술, 사회기술, 사회정서학습), 행동 중재(긍정적 행동지원, 모델링), 심리치료 중재(미술치료, 상담치료 및 부모교육), 레크리에이션 중재(로봇 중재, 원예치료)로 분류하였다. 연구의 대상자로는 지적장애가 가장 많았고, 주의력 결핍 과잉행동장애가 그 다음으로 많았다. 평가 영역은 주로 정서의 변화, 주의력의 변화를 알아보는 도구가 사용 되었다. 본 연구를 통해 학교기반 중재의 연구 분야, 대상자, 평가도구의 근거를 마련하였다. 이는 추후 더욱 효과적인 정신건강 관련 학교기반 중재를 마련하는데 있어 중요한 기본 자료로 활용 할 수 있을 것이다.

Adoption and Implementation of Tobacco Control Policies in Schools in India: Results of the Bihar School Teachers Study

  • Implementation of no tobacco policies in schools is associated with lower tobacco use among teachers and students. In this study we assessed the extent that a school-based intervention for teachers resulted in adoption and implementation of tobacco control policies. From a random sample of government schools ($8^{th}-10^{th}$), 72 were randomized into intervention and control conditions. Intervention included health education programs for teachers and support for tobacco control policy implementation. Adoption and implementation of policies were assessed at baseline and immediately after intervention. All 36 intervention and one control school adopted a tobacco-control policy. Higher enforcement of tobacco-control policy was at post intervention (OR=3.26; CI: 2.35, 4.54) compared to baseline in intervention schools. Some 64% of intervention and 28% control schools showed "improvement" in policy implementation. Adoption and implementation of no tobacco policies was positively impacted by intervention. This study provides support for scaling up of school-based tobacco control interventions to promote school tobacco control policies.

The Effect of an Educational Intervention on Health Literacy and the Adoption of Nutritional Preventive Behaviors Related to Osteoporosis Among Iranian Health Volunteers

  • Objectives: Given the increase in osteoporosis among health volunteers and the effect of health literacy on the adoption of nutritional preventive behaviors, this study aimed to determine the effects of an educational intervention on health literacy and the adoption of nutritional preventive behaviors related to osteoporosis among health volunteers. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental, interventional study of health volunteers conducted in 2020. In this study, 140 subjects (70 in both intervention and control groups) were selected using the random multi-stage sampling method. An educational intervention was conducted using the Telegram application, and educational messages were sent to the health volunteers in the intervention group across 6 sessions. Data were collected via a demographic questionnaire, the Health Literacy for Iranian Adults survey, and a nutritional performance questionnaire, which were completed before and 3 months after the intervention. The data were collected and analyzed using SPSS version 23. Results: Before the intervention, there were no significant differences in the mean scores for health literacy variables and the adoption of nutritional preventive behaviors between the intervention and control groups (p>0.05). After the intervention, there was a significant change in the mean scores for health literacy and the adoption of preventive behaviors in the intervention group (p<0.05) as opposed to the control group. Conclusions: Interventions aimed at increasing health literacy are effective for promoting the adoption of preventive and healthy nutritional behaviors related to osteoporosis.

청소년 자살 사후 학교중심 위기개입 프로그램에 대한 평가연구 (An Evaluative Study on the School-Based Post-Suicide Crisis Intervention Program for Adolescents)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 청소년 자살 사후 학교중심 위기개입 프로그램을 평가하려는 것이다. 이 연구에서는 청소년 자살 사건이 발생한 7개교의 전교생, 학급생, 교직원들을 대상으로 위기개입 프로그램을 실시하고, 세부프로그램별 참여자 집단을 대상으로 폐쇄형 개방형 설문지를 활용하여 자료를 수집하였으며, 혼합 평가방법을 활용하여 분석하였다. 주요 결과들을 살펴보면, 위기개입이 이루어진 2개 학급은 사후 위기개입 이후 실시한 설문조사 결과, 친구를 잃은 슬픔을 표현하고 친구를 애도하는데 도움이 되었다고 응답하였다. 다른 4개 학급은 생명존중에 대한 인식이 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 개방형 질문에 대한 응답을 범주화하여 분석한 결과에서는 생명존중의식 변화 및 재인식, 심리 정서적 안정등의 의미를 도출하였다. 이러한 연구결과에 근거하여 자살 발생 상황에 적합한 맞춤형 위기개입 매뉴얼 개발의 필요성 등을 제언하였다.

직무스트레스관리중재 효과에 대한 메타분석 (A Meta-Analysis of Effects of Job Stress Management Interventions (SMIs))

  • Purpose: This quantitative meta analysis sought to determine the effectiveness of SMIs. Method: Forty-six experimental studies with a randomized or nonequivalent control group pre-post test design were included in the analysis. The selected studies were classified according to the sample characteristics, the types and methods of the interventions, and the types of outcome variables. Six intervention types were distinguished: cognitive-behavioral intervention(CBT), relaxation techniques(RT), exercise(EX), multimodal programs 1 and 2(MT1, 2), and organization-focused interventions(OTs). Effect sizes were calculated for the 4 outcome categories across intervention types: psycho-social outcome, behavioral-personal resources, physiologic, and organizational outcome. Results : Individual worker-focused interventions(ITs) were more effective than OTs. A small but significant overall effect was found A moderate effect was found for RT, and small effects were found for other ITs, The effect size for OTs was the smallest. The interventions involving CBT and RT appeared to be the preferred means of reducing worker's psycho-social and organizational outcomes. With regard to physiologic outcomes, RT appeared to be most effective. CBT appeared to be most effective in reducing psycho-social outcomes. The effects of OT were non-significant, except for the psycho-social outcomes. Conclusions: SMIs are effective. Interventions involving RT and CBT are more effective than other types.
