Although the Internet has been a important communication tool in modem societies, researchers did not pay attention to its' positive impacts on individual's psychological process. The Internet provides users with a unique environment such as visual isolation, non face-to-face communication, and easiness to escape from social influences. This environment enables people to take free action according to their personality and disclose themselves. From the uses and gratification perspective, the current research reveals that individuals with high extraversion are inclined to maintain social networking sites and those with high openness participate in web communities. The findings indicate that individuals' social use of the internet may reflect their personality. This study, also, reveals that controlling the big five personality dimensions, the amount of self-disclosure through ones' social networking site is positively related with subjective happiness. This finding suggests that like confession behaviors in religious or curing facilities, people can use the Internet as a therapeutic or a preventative method for promoting their well-being. Theoretical contributions and practical implications are discussed.
Although online social network services widely used in human networking and recruiting industries, it is showing off its limitations in followings-it's hard to reach the status of seamless connection between offline and online; the incompletion and low credibility of the information came from non-face-to-face profile exchange; and the restraint of user autonomy due to centralized control. This paper defines the ubiquitous social network management which enables the seamless real-time face-to-face social interactions of the users based on WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) who share the same interest in real word and deduces a ubiquitous social network management framework based on it. As an instance of ubiquitous social network management, u-Recruiting service model will be designed and analyzed. The Analysis using the business model will be followed by the possible scenario of service model. The role, value proposition and potential benefits of the each participants in this service model and will be given as well. In order to evaluate relative advantages of the model suggested by this study, 6 cases will be compared.
This study investigates the impact of social-face sensitivity of smartphones on the adoption of iPhone in China. Social-face sensitivity is divided into three dimensions, namely, other-directed sensitivity, self-directed sensitivity, and formality-directed sensitivity. We surveyed 218 university students in China through an online survey site. The results showed that formality-directed and other-directed sensitivity have significant impacts on iPhone preferences. Self-directed sensitivity was not significant. We investigated two moderate variables, namely, financial ability and brand sensitivity. Both variables showed significantly moderate impacts on the intention to purchase iPhone. The impact of social-face sensitivity on iPhone preferences implies that the iPhone has dual characteristics to the Chinese, namely, as utility and luxury goods. This finding offers managerial implications for Apple and other mobile service companies in terms of production and marketing strategies.

The purpose of this study were to investigate the social support and social participation and to analyze the correlation and associated factors of social support and participation in social support for life care in stroke patients living in community. Scores for the social support as a moderator of life stress and the Korean version of the Reintegration to Normal Living Index (K-RNLI) were surveyed using a face to face test for 92 patients who had a stroke between September 3, 2018, and January 10, 2019. As a result, there was a high correlation between social support and social participation(p<.05). Factors related to social support were living together and social participation, and factors related to social participation were type of stroke, relationship with patients, and social support. This study found that social support and social participation are related and important factors for successful rehabilitation in stroke patients living in the community. This study could be used as a basis for rehabilitation intervention in stroke patients living in the community.
The purpose of this study was to examine the associations of Korean older adults' use of Social Network Service (SNS) and text messages with frequency of contact with 1) non-coresident adult children, 2) siblings and relatives, or 3) friends, neighbors, and acquaintances. Data were drawn from the 2017 Survey of Living Conditions and Welfare Needs of Korean Older Persons 65+ (N=8,392), and older adults were categorized into 4 groups depending on their familiarity with use of SNS and text messages. Ordinary Least Squares regression models were estimated for analyses. Results revealed that older users of both types of communication media reported frequent exchanges of calls, text messages, etc. with both family and friends. However, using SNS and text messages was consistently related to more face-to-face contact with non-family members. To conclude, older adults' familiarity with communication media could be key to exchanges of emotional and instrumental support with informal social network members and quality of life in the community. Overall, our results highlight the importance of information communication education targeting older adults for continued involvement with their informal social network members.
Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the neighborhood environmental factors associated with physical activity among adults living in rural communities. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive survey was conducted with a convenience sample of 201 adults living in three Ri in Y-city, Gyeonggi-do. Data were collected from face-to-face interview by trained interviewers and were analyzed using a zero-inflated negative binominal regression model. Results: Participants reported engaged in moderate or vigorous physical activity was 76.1%; 10.5% of participants reported that they met moderate physical activity recommendations and 14.5% of participants reported that they met vigorous physical activity recommendations. Zero-inflated negative binominal regression analysis showed association of increasing days of physical activity with social cohesion (${\beta}=.130$, p=.005), social network (${\beta}=-.096$, p=.003), and safety for crime (${\beta}=-.151$, p=.036), and no days of physical activity was associated with no attainment of education and marginally associated with increasing BMI. Conclusion: Neighborhood environmental factors including social cohesion, social network, and crime for safety were significantly associated with physical activity of rural adults. Community health nurses should expand an approach for individual behavior change to incorporate rural adults' specific neighborhood environmental factors into physical activity interventions.

Objectives: This study investigated how income, duration of illness, social stigma, quality of sleeping, ADL and social participation related to Parkinson's disease(PD) predict depression in a conceptual model based on the International Classification of Functioning(ICF) model. Methods: The sample included 206 adults with idiopathic Parkinson's disease(IPD) attending D university hospital in B Metro-politan City. A structured questionnaire was used and conducted face-to-face interviews. The collected data were analyzed for fitness, using the AMOS 18.0 program. Results: A path analysis showed that the overall model provided empirical evidence for linkages in the ICF model. Depression was manifested by significant direct effects of social stigma(${\beta}=.20$, p<.001), quality of sleeping(${\beta}=-.40$, p<.001), ADL(${\beta}=-.20$, p<.01), and social participation(${\beta}=-.12$, p<.05), indirect effects including income(p<.05), duration of illness(p<.05). These variables explained 45.9% of variance in the prediction model. Conclusions: This model may help nurses to collect and assess information to develop intervention program for depression.
Social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook lead to potential security risks, which consequently raise public concerns about privacy. However, most people rarely make active efforts to protect their personal data, even though they have shown increasing concerns about privacy. Therefore, this study examines the factors that determine social media users' behavior of using privacy settings and testifies the existence of privacy paradox in such a context. In addition, it investigates the mediating effects of implementation intentions on the relationship between intentions and behaviors. In the study, we collected data through questionnaires, and the respondents were undergraduate and graduate students in South Korea. After a pilot test (n = 92) and a set of face-to-face interviews, 266 usable responses were retrieved for data analysis finally. The results confirmed the existence of the privacy paradox regarding the use of social media privacy settings. And the implication intention did positively mediate the relationship between intention and behavior in the context of social media privacy settings. To the best of our knowledge, our study is the first in the information privacy literature to introduce the notion of implementation intention which is a much more powerful explanation and prediction of actual behavior than the (behavioral) intention.
