  • There have been many requests for development of senior housing in Korea. Therefore it was very important to review how senior houses are established and managed in other countries. In this point, this research compared the actual conditions of the homes for the elderly in the U.K, U.S.A and Japan. Through the process, this research aimed to find the implications for Korea. The research was conducted by the literature review on senior congregate housing with Franklin's(1998) social constructionism perspective. This kind of research might be utilized as a theoretical framework for performance of any systems of housing for the aged. In this study, the researchers suggested the implications of senior congregate housing as follows. Firstly, in terms of structural context, government in the U.K, U.S.A., and Japan were positively concerned with solving the housing problems for senior citizens despite some differences. Secondly, from an institutional context, institutions related with provision, construction, and management of senior congregate housing were systematically consolidated and they all adapted the housing and welfare policy. Thirdly, in organizational context, there was an organization in charge of provision and management that exclusively oversaw the housing for the elderly in both the public and private sectors. Fourthly, in operational context, standards regarding space were clearly set both for individual units and common spaces as well as for facilities and services for the residents. Finally in terms of intersubjective context, the competency of housing manager and ways to involve the families which were important for residents' independent life were under study.

  • The explosive growth of Web-based educational resources requires a new approach for accessing relevant information effectively. Social searching in the context of social navigation is one of several answers to this problem, in the domain of information retrieval. It provides users with not merely a traditional ranked list, but also with visual hints which can guide users to information provided by their colleagues. A personalized and context-dependent social searching system has been implemented on a platform called KnowledgeSea II, an open-corpus Web-based educational support system with multiple access methods. Validity tests were run on a variety of aspects and results have shown that this is an effective way to help users access relevant, essential information.

  • Although previous studies on social commerce have provided much insight, more studies in the perspective of social network are needed because social commerce happens within online communities or virtual groups, where buyers connect and interact with each other by sharing information. So, the purpose of this study is to investigate how transactive memory as network characteristic can affect social commerce behavior through social support and relationship quality. We verified the relational effect among social support, relationship quality, and social commerce intention in the Korean market context. Moreover, we found transactive memory capability also played an essential role in the field of social commerce. Specifically, we found consumer's transactive memory capability plays a significant moderating role in the relation between social support and relationship quality.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of individuals with social anxiety tendency and normal people according to existence of emotional context in attention processing for positive facial stimulation. To do this, we investigated attentional processing for positive face stimuli in a condition without/with emotional context. SADS and CES-D were administered to 800 undergraduate students in D city and the social anxiety group (SA, n=24) and the normal control group (NC, n=24) were selected. In order to measure the two factors of attention process (attention engagement and attention disengagement), first gaze direction and first gaze time were measured through eye-movement tracking. The results show that the SA group exhibited faster attention disengagement from positive face stimuli compared to the NC group in the condition without context. But, when the positive context presented with positive face stimuli, there is no difference between SA and NC. This result suggests that the positive background affects emotional processing of social anxiety disorder.

  • This study explored the role of Korean immigrant churches as a social context for Korean American youths, with a specific focus on its role in ethnic socialization. Semistructured interviews were conducted with 23 Korean American young adults. The results show that such churches serve as a salient social context for Korean American youths in which day-to-day lives are deeply integrated. Specifically, they serve as a salient context for coethnic peer relationships and family interactions. Moreover, Korean immigrant churches play a salient role as an agent of enculturation for Korean American youths by engaging them in cultural socialization, constructing and transmitting immigrant discourse, and providing a coethnic community. Taken as whole, findings suggest a distinct and salient role of immigrant churches in the lives of Korean American youths and highlight the importance of studying the social context specific to the children of immigrants.

  • The purpose of the research is to analyze the behavioral intention to adopt social media in SMEs affected by the COVID-19 crisis, based on the TOE Model. This study uses the TOE framework as a theoretical basis. This research is important because COVID-19 has destroyed most of the SMEs, and SMEs are exposed to social media technology to market their products. The success of social media adoption has helped SMEs to be able to rise from adversity. Respondents in this study were 250 SMEs in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The data analysis technique used is structural equation modeling with AMOS. The results of this study indicate that SMEs affected by the COVID-19 crisis have a high awareness of social media and have a high intention to adopt social media as a way to market their products and connect with customers. The intention to adopt social media is significantly influenced by the technological context, organizational context, environmental context, and social media awareness. The findings of this study suggest that in times of crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government support is needed. The Government needs to open services for SMEs whose businesses are affected by the pandemic.

  • A number of context information is shared through social network service(SNS). Among them, we focused on the information which is rarely shared for various reasons. The result indicated that users prefer to avoid certain types of context information because of: 1)containing socially unacceptable content, 2)laking of desire for disclosure, and 3)potential risk of privacy. Concerning privacy concern, it was found that users developed their own management strategy to control context information rather than employing existing system features. Drawing on Communication Privacy Management(CPM) theory, we analyzed findings and suggested guidelines for system design.
