  • The study conducted questionnaire analysis on 607 host company employee and 404 subcontractor employee in order to examine the difference in the safety culture cognition of host company and subcontractor. As a result, host company had higher recognition in all safety culture factors compare to that of subcontractor, and there were bigger gap of cognition in the 'cognition in safety status and culture', 'accident and near-miss', 'immediate superior's concentration degree in safety and health' than that of other cognition factors. Furthermore, team leaders showed the highest cognition in both host company and subcontractor, and employees with above 20 year career had the highest cognition in both host company and subcontractor. There is high relationship between host company and subcontractor in the correlations in safety culture cognition factors. Through this study, we identified the difference in the safety culture cognition factor of host company and subcontractor.

  • Purpose : This research is descriptive research that investigated the effect of subjective health cognition and self-esteem of saeteomin on depression. Methods : Data had been collected with self-reported questionnaire and telephone interview for 85 people who are over 18 and lived in Gwangju and Jeonnam province from September 1st 2005 to November 30th 2005. Results : In the subjective health cognition of subjects, 33 people(38.8%) were bad and 55.3% was latent patients. To verify the controlling effect of self-efficacy and subjective health cognition on depression, the multiple regression, divided into two different stage, shows that the overall model was significant, where, in the first stage, adding subjective health cognition(F = 14.814, p = 0.000) and in the second stage, self-efficacy(F = 21.621, p = .000). The subjective health cognition affects depression about 14.1%, and self-efficacy affects depression about 18.8%. Both subjective health cognition and self-efficacy affects depression about 32.9%. Conclusion : These findings showed that the health status of Saeteomin was in poor Status. As a result the subjective health cognition and self-efficacy were significant factors to control the depression, those factors can be integral resources to develop effective social support and detailed strategy for Saeteomin.

  • Purpose: To determine effects of irrational parenthood cognition, family support, and resilience on depression in infertile women. Methods: Subjects were 118 infertile women who agreed to participate in this study. Data were collected from April 16 to July 31, 2018. Collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson's correlation and multiple regression with SPSS WIN 23.0 program. Results: Depression significantly differed according to the burden of treatment cost and presence of people giving stress. Depression showed significantly positive correlation with irrational parenthood cognition and significantly negative correlations with family support and resilience. Factors affecting depression were irrational parenthood cognition, family support, and resilience. Irrational parenthood cognition had the greatest effect on depression. These three variables explained 35.8% of total variance. Conclusion: Irrational parenthood cognition, family support, and resilience affected depression of infertile women, with irrational parenthood cognition having the greatest effect. Therefore, it is important to develop and implement programs that can reduce irrational parenthood cognition and increase family support and resilience in order to lower depression of infertile women. The authors declared no conflict of interest.

Methods: A nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design was used. A total of 33 elderly people with dementia living in a nursing home facility participated in the study, with 17 in the experimental group and 16 in the control group. The intervention program with PARO was administered twice a week for 6 weeks, for a total of 12 sessions. Data were collected before and after intervention, using a questionnaire, direct observation, and video recording. Results: There were statistically significant differences in positive emotions and problem behaviors between the groups. The experimental group demonstrated a significant improvement in social interaction. Conclusion: PARO intervention can be utilized as an effective nursing intervention to increase positive emotions and social interaction, as well as decrease problem behaviors, in elderly people with dementia living in nursing home facilities.

  • This paper aims to grasp the characteristics of the cognition and preference on the continents, their relationship, and then each nation's location and direction in case of Korean high school students. First, there exists difference of cognition by six continents as well as by gender and experience of foreign visit among the students. The students have somewhat different preference by each continent, which was affected by gender and experience of foreign visit as well. Second, the cognition of the students on each nation's location showed a positive relation with that on the continents, which was decided by adjacent distance with Korea. The empirical results showed that the higher the gaps of latitude over longitude are, the lower the cognition of the students on direction among nations are. Moreover there are significant gaps by gender and experience of foreign visit in orientation ability. As a result, the geography education may have to be develop the high school students' balanced cognition ability in relation to continents and nations.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was: 1) To investigate health status(health behavior, health problem and cognition), depression and social support of elderly beneficiaries of the National Basic Livelihood Security System. 2) To identify the relationships among health status, depression and social support. Methods: This descriptive study used a cross-sectional design. The study sample was a total of 883 elderly recipients supported from the National Basic Livelihood Security System. Quotas for sampling were designed and conducted nationwide throughout Korea. Results: The mean age was 76.2 and the 79.6% of the sample were female. The scores for the health behavior, health problem, ADL, and cognition were 23.9, 4.4, 39.6 and 24.9, respectively. Additionally, the depression score was 19.8 and the social support score was 63.2. Gender, age, education, religion, marital status and monthly income were found as important variables in increasing health status and in decreasing depression among the elderly. Furthermore, depression showed a positive correlation with health problems, but showed negative correlations with health behavior, ADL, and cognition. The upper 25% of social support recipients suffered less depression than the lower 25% of the recipients. Subjects with more social supports had higher ADL scores and less health problem. Conclusion: These findings provide significant practical implications for nursing intervention, including social support for the elderly receiving assistance from the National Basic Livelihood Security System.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between activities of daily living and health-related quality of life in ambulatory stroke patients. This was a cross-sectional survey study of 60 patients who had survived one year or more after a stroke in community. Activities of daily living were assessed using the Functional Independence Measure (FlM) and health-related quality of life using the Stroke Impact Scale (SIS). The association between FIM and SIS was examined using Pearson' s correlation. The FIM score was higher than the SIS score. Most domains of FIM exhibited a high rate (45-85%) of ceiling effects. However, only the communication and memory domain of SIS exhibited of ceiling effects. The correlation coefficients were .835 (p<.01) for FIM-motor vs. SIS-ADL, .257 (p<,05) for FIM-motor vs. SIS-communication, .596 (p<.01) for FIM-motor vs. SIS-social participation, .635 (p<.01) for FIM-cognition vs. SIS-memory, .369 (p<.01) for FIM-cognition vs. SIS-ADL, and .289 (p<.05) for FlM-cognition vs. SIS-social participation. In conclusion, the correlation between FIM-motor and SIS-social participation was higher than that of FlM-cognition and SIS-social participation. The domains of emotion and hand function of SIS showed no correlation coefficients with FIM-total. To examine the activities of daily living and the quality of life in ambulatory stroke patients in community, it is necessary to use both the FIM and SIS.

  • The interest in the Fourth Industrial Revolution along with the development of ICT makes the software get the attention of the world. This phenomenon naturally leads to the concern for software education. Learning software coding is not easy for students whose major is in humanities or social sciences. This paper is a study of how cognition on software education affects to education of computational thinking. For research method, moderator variables were adopted on the proposed research model to prove that positive cognition can derive good influence on improvement of computational thinking. To find out moderator variables of the research model, we have conducted the questionnaire over three years for total of 928 students who took the software coding courses. As the result of the study, we proved that the positive cognition on software education can make the better improvement of computational thinking within proper moderator variables.
