  • In this paper, the method for designing a robust linear multivariable model following servo system is proposed. This model following servo system for the (n)th order reference input and the (n)th order disturbance is treated, and is designed so that the (n)th order response of the plant should be kept close to the (n)th order response of the given model by LQ(Linear Quadratic) optimal regulator approach. It is proved that the characteristics of the model following servo system is robust in the presence of the disturbances and the parameter perturbations of the plant dynamics.

  • This paper describes the result of load test of a bogie frame. The purpose of test is to evaluate the safety which bogie frame shall be considered fully sufficient rigidity so as to satisfy proper system function under maximum load. Bogie system consist of the bogie frame, suspensions, wheel-sets, a brake system and a transmission system. Among these component, the bogie frame is most significant component subjected to the vehicle and passenger loads. The evaluation method is used the JIS E 4207 specifications throughout the static load test. The test results have shown the bogie frame to be safe and stable under design load conditions.

  • In this paper, we developed the evaluation system for the active noise control so that the algorithms can be easily evaluated in real-time on the system. We implemented the active noise controller based on a single-chip with only additional op-amps for signal conditioning because the TMS320C280049 MCU includes almost all necessary peripherals for the active noise controller. Due to the difficulty in testing algorithms on embedded-type hardware unlike in computer simulation, we also developed GUI-based evaluation software which makes it simple to test algorithms on the hardware. Using the GUI software, we can optimize the parameters of the algorithms with ease in a specific noise environment because the parameters can be adjusted in real-time when the algorithm is running on the hardware.

  • In this study, the RFID card is designed to be developed so that when users attempt to enter or exit, the system is switched on and the system switched off if the RFID card is not placed. For this study, circuit diagrams were designed and completed. We also programmed into Arduino to send information to Windows applications. It was also programmed to create a Windows application using C# and used to receive information from Arduino. The future research projects will be developed into a system applicable to real buildings.

  • Recently, the development of a heat pump technology to recover process waste heat and to generate steam of $120^{\circ}C$ or higher required for industrial processes, has attracted attention. The research of conventional heat pump utilizing the available energy is used primarily for air conditioning, and the production temperature is about $60^{\circ}C$, so it is difficult to utilize it for industrial use. Therefore, in this study, we developed a steam heat pump (SGHP) which recovers the waste heat of process and generates steam at $120^{\circ}C$. The low-pressure refrigerant R245fa, considered to be an eco-friendly refrigerant, has been selected as the refrigerant for SGHP in this study since its Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) is zero and the Global Warming Potential (GWP) is relatively low. A flash tank functioning as a phase separator was installed in the rear stage of the condenser, and the saturated water of high temperature was decompressed to generate steam. It was started at the initial temperature of $70^{\circ}C$, and it was confirmed that $120^{\circ}C$ steam was produced after the system stabilized. We have conducted experiments by modifying the system, and ultimately achieved a heating capacity of 101.4 kW and a COP of 3.05.

  • We propose a remote controller for a SCARA typed direct drive manipulator with two degrees-of-freedom(DOF). A remote controller system for SCARA robot of DDA is designed using a 2 DSP (TMS320c31) board and Winsock(Internet program class library supplied by Microsoft). The design objective of the system is to implement real time dynamic control algorithms which have been tested only by simulations so far and remote control regardless of the distance between user and robot. Because this system runs on Win95, we developed a VxD program to communicate with DSP controller.

  • On the satellite communication system, conventional key issues of control have been focused on the attitude and orbit control, monitoring and control of communication payload such as IOT(In-Orbit-Test) and CSM(Communication System Monitoring) and so on. As the vulnerabilities are being increased on the satellite communication network, security services are required to protect it against security violated attacks. In this paper, a security architecture for satellite communication network is presented in order to provide security services and mechanisms. Authentication protocol and encryption scheme are also proposed for spacecraft command authentication and confidentiality.

  • The objective of this study is to develop the CAD system for 2 cell box culvert by ultimate strength design method. C-language & AutoCAD Rl2 were used to create user-friendly computing environment. Consequently, users can easily design 2 cell box culvert under the various conditions, such as design load, total fill depth, underground water level, strength of concrete, and so forth. This system is believed to improve the efficiency and economy by the batch processing of structural analysis, quick drafting and computation of material quantity in the 2 cell box culvert design.
