A novel passive lossless soft-switching single inductor dual buck full-bridge inverter (PLSSIDBFBI) is presented in this paper. To accomplish this, a passive lossless snubber circuit is added to a dual buck full-bridge inverter. Therefore, the advantages of the dual buck full-bridge inverter are included in the proposed inverter, and the inverter has just one filter inductor, which can decrease the system volume and improve the integration. In addition, the passive lossless snubber circuit achieves soft-switching by its own resonance, and all of the energy stored in the passive lossless snubber circuit can be transferred to load. A comparison between eight topologies is performed in this paper, and the analysis shows that the proposed soft-switching inverter topology has high reliability and efficiency. Finally, experimental results obtained with a 1 kW prototype verify the theoretical analysis and demonstrate the prominent characteristics of a reduced switching loss and improved efficiency.
Power conversion system must be increased swiching frequency in order to achieve a small size, a light weight and a low noise, However, the swiches of converter are subjected to high switching power losses and switching stresses. As a result of those, the power system brings on a low efficiency. In this paper, the authors propose a DC-DC boost converter of high power by partial resonant switch method (PRSM). The switching devices in a proposed circuit are operated with soft swiching and the control technique of those is simplified for switch to drive in constant duty cycle. The partial resonant circuit makes use of a inductor suing step up and a condenser of loss-less snubber. Also the circuit has a merit which is taken to increase of efficiency, as if makes to a regeneration at input source of accumulated energy in snubber condenser without loss of snubber in conventional cirvuit. The result is the the switching loss is very low and the efficiency of system is high. The proposed converter is deemed the most suitable for high power applications where the power switching devices are used.

The purpose of this paper is to improve power conversion efficiency of three-phase soft-switching voltage-source inverter with an auxiliary resonant dc link (ARDCL) snubber circuit. Firstly, the operation principle of ARDCL snubber circuit is described. Secondly, this paper proposes an effictive generation method of zero voltage vector for three-phase voltage-source soft-switching inverter in power losses in which power losses in the ARDCL snubber circuit can be reduced. In particular, zero voltage holding interval in the inverter DC busline can be controlled due to the new generation scheme of zero voltage vector. Thirdly, a simulator for power loss analysis for power loss characteristics based on actual system, is developed. the validity of developed. The validity of developed simulator of proved with experimental results. Finally, power efficency of three-phase inverter is estimated according to high carrier frequency by using the simulatior.
The purpose of this paper is to obtain the improved reliability and optimal control of the half-bridge inverter for induction heating system. Parasitic inductance components within the inverter circuit for induction heating including the loss-less turn-off snubber capacitor considerably affect stable operation and noise level of the system. This paper analyzes the effect of the inductance in detail and presents a new snubber configuration suitable for the half-bridge inverter to effectively reduce it. In the half-bridge inverter for induction heating the capacity of the loss-less snubber capacitor determines the switching losses because the zero voltage turn-on switching is used. However, the increase of the capacitor is limited by the system specifications, so that it is not easy work to reduce the switching loss. To effectively overcome the limitation, this paper introduces an active auxiliary resonant circuit suitable for the half-bridge inverter circuit, which operates actively according to the variation of load condition. It is also one of the most important study issues for the half-bridge inverter driven induction heater that the development of optimal control scheme considering varied load condition should be achieved. The control strategy ensures a very stable operation of overall inverter system and zero voltage turn-on switching irrespective of sensitive load parameter variations, in particular, even under the non-magnetic materials.

In order to minimize switching losses for high power applications, a boost PFC rectifier with a novel passive lossless snubber circuit is proposed. The proposed lossless snubber is composed of coupled inductors merged into a boost inductor. This method compared with conventional methods does not need additional inductor cores and it reduces extra costs to implement a soft switching circuit. Especially, the proposed circuit can reduce the reverse recovery current of output diode rectifiers due to the coupling effect of the inductor. During turn-on and turn-off operating modes, the proposed PFC converter operates under soft switching conditions with high power conversion efficiency. In addition, the performance improvement and analysis of the operating effects of the coupled inductors were also presented and verified with a 3.3 kW prototype rectifier.
This paper presents a buck circuit topology of high-frequency with a single switching device. It solved the problem which arised from hard-switching in high-frequency using a resonant snubber and operating under the principle of ZCS turn-on and ZVS turn-off commutation schemes. In the existing circuit, it has the voltage stress that is almost twice of input voltage in a free-wheeling diode. In the proposed circuit, it has the voltage stress that is lower than input voltage with modifing a location of free -wheeling diode. In this paper, it expained the circuit operation of each mode and analyzed feedback-loop stabilization. Also it confirmed the waveform of each mode with simulation result. The experiment result verified the simulation waveform and compared the voltage stress of a free -wheeling diode in the exsiting circuit with the voltage stress of that in the proposed circuit. Moreover, it compares and analyzes the proposed circuit's efficiency with the hard-switching circuit's efficiency according to the change of load current.
This research proposes a new rectifier circuit to reduce the circulating current of a phase-shifted full bridge converter. The proposed circuit is a structure in which the output inductor of the secondary rectifier circuit is changed to a coupled inductor in the phase-shifted full bridge with the existing center-tapped rectifier. The parts are rearranged after adding a diode. After applying the proposed circuit, the circulating current to the primary current of the transformer and the voltage stress of the rectifier diode on the secondary side of the transformer are reduced. Accordingly, the snubber loss of the rectifier is improved. By reducing the circulating current and snubber loss, the circuit achieves higher efficiency than conventional circuits. In this research, we present the structure of the proposed circuit, its strengths, and the analysis results from experiments. Furthermore, its effectiveness is verified through the experimental results of a prototype converter with an input of 300-400 V and an output of 50 V/1 kW.
The development of advanced Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor(IGBT)has enabled high-frequency switching operation and has improved the performance of PWM inverters for motor drive. However, the high rate of dv/dt of IGBT has adverse effects on motor insulation stress. In many motor drive applications, the inverter and motor are separated and it requires long motor feds. The long cable contributes high frequency ringing at the motor terminal and it results in hight surge voltage which stresses the motor insulation. The inverter output filter and RDC snubber are conventional method which can reduce the surge voltage. In this paper, we propose the new low loss snubber to reduce the motor terminal surge voltage. The snubber consists of the series connection of charging/discharging capacitor and the voltage-clamped capacitor. At IGBT turn-off, the snubber starts to operate when the IGBT voltage reaches the voltage-clamped level. Since dv/dt is decreased by snubber operating, the peak level of the surge voltage can be reduced. Also the snubber operates at the IGBT voltage above the voltage-clamped level, the snubber loss is largely reduced comparing with RDC snubber. The proposed snubber enables to reduce the motor terminal surge voltage with low loss.
