The performance of speech recognition is degraded by the mismatch between training and test environments. Many methods have been presented to compensate for additive noise and channel effect in the cepstral domain, and Cepstral Mean Subtraction (CMS) is the representative method among them. Recently, high order cepstral moment normalization method has introduced to improve recognition accuracy. In this paper, we apply high order moment normalization method and smoothing filter for real-time processing. In experiments using Aurora2 DB, we obtained error rate reduction of 49.7% with the proposed algorithm in comparison with baseline system.
The combination of both phase-shifting convolution and 2-bit quantization smoothing filter was used to reduce speckle noise from saw-tooth speckle fringes phase map, obtained in phase-shifting speckle interferometer. The phase-shifting convolution showed the noise reduction capability of speckle fringe without destroying edge information across 271 jump. Also, it was shown that the 2-bit quantization smoothing filter was superior to average, low-pass filter and median filter in speeding up smoothing process and enhancing SIN ratio. Finally, a path dependent unwrapping algorithm was used to unwrap a noise reduced 271 modulo speckle phasemap. semap.

A new approach which combines implicit surface scheme and recursive subdivision method is suggested in order to fill the holes with complex shapes in the polygon model. In the method, a base surface is constructed by creating smooth implicit surface from the points selected in the neighborhood of holes. In order to assure C$^1$ continuity between the newly generated surface and the original polygon model, offset points of same number as the selected points are used as the augmented constraint conditions in the calculation of implicit surface. In this paper the well-known recursive subdivision method is used in order to generate the triangular net with good quality using the hole boundary curve and generated base implicit surface. An efficient anisotropic smoothing algorithm is introduced to eliminate the unwanted noise data and improve the quality of polygon model. The effectiveness and validity of the proposed method are demonstrated by performing numerical experiments for the various types of holes and polygon model.

We proposed the product recommendation algorithm mixed the temporal association rule and the exponential smoothing method. The temporal association rule added a temporal concept in a commercial association rule In this paper. we proposed a exponential smoothing temporal association rule that is giving higher weights to recent data than past data. Through simulation and case study in temporal data sets, we confirmed that it is more Precise than existing temporal association rules but consumes running time.
In this paper, we propose a new scheme to generate multi-view images using a depth-image-based rendering (DIBR) technique. In order to improve the quality of multi-view images at newly exposed areas during mesh-based rendering, we preprocess the depth map using a Gaussian smoothing filter. Previous algorithms apply a smoothing filter to the whole depth map even if the depth map is collapsed. After extracting objects from the depth map, we apply the smoothing filter to their boundaries. Finally, we cannot only maintain the depth quality, but also generate high quality multi-view images. Experimental results show that our proposed algorithm outperforms previous works and supports an efficient depth keying technique.

Due to the asymptotic property, deadbeat control can hardly applied to the continuous time system control. But some delay element method can deal such a problem. Except delay element method, well-known digital deadbeat control can br used with the aid of som smoothing elements. In this paper, and order smoothing element is used for the smoothing of the digital deadbeat controller. And this element is argumented to the plant, and so control problem is to control digitally the argumented system. We simulated this control system using Matlab language and finally apply this algorithm to the rotary inverted pendulum system.

Mean curvature diffusion (MCD) is a selective smoothing technique that promotes smoothing within a region instead of smoothing across boundaries. By using mean curvature diffusion, noise is eliminated and edges are preserved. In this paper, we propose methods of automatic parameter selection and implementation for the MCD model coupled to min/max flow. The algorithm has been applied to high resolution aerial images and the results show that noise is eliminated and edges are preserved after removal of noise.
The linear smoothing spline estimator is modified to remove boundary bias effects. The resulting estimator can be calculated efficiently using an O(n) algorithm that is developed for the computation of fitted values and associated smoothing parameter selection criteria. The asymptotic properties of the estimator are studied for the case of a uniform design. In this case the mean squared error properties of boundary corrected linear smoothing splines are seen to be asymptotically competitive with those for standard second order kernel smoothers.

In this paper, an intra prediction hardware architecture is proposed to reduce computational complexity of intra prediction in HEVC decoder. The architecture uses shared operation units and common operation units and adopts a fast smoothing decision algorithm and a fast algorithm to generate coefficients of a filter. The shared operation unit shares adders processing common equations to remove the computational redundancy. The unit computes an average value in DC mode for reducing the number of execution cycles in DC mode. In order to reduce operation units, the common operation unit uses one operation unit generating predicted pixels and filtered pixels in all prediction modes. In order to reduce processing time and operators, the decision algorithm uses only bit-comparators and the fast algorithm uses LUT instead of multiplication operators. The proposed architecture using four shared operation units and eight common operation units which can reduce execution cycles of intra prediction. The architecture is synthesized using TSMC 0.13um CMOS technology. The gate count and the maximum operating frequency are 40.5k and 164MHz, respectively. As the result of measuring the performance of the proposed architecture using the extracted data from HM 7.1, the execution cycle of the architecture is about 93.7% less than the previous design.
As portable devices are used widely, power management algorithm is essential to extend battery use time on small-sized battery power. Although many methods have been proposed, they assumed the voltage transition overhead was negligible or was considered partially. However, the voltage transition overhead might not guarantee to schedule real-time tasks in portable multimedia systems. This paper proposes the adaptive power-aware algorithm to minimize the power consumption by considering the voltage transition overhead. It selects only a few discrete frequencies from the whole frequencies of a system and adjusts the interval between two consecutive frequencies based on the system utilization to reduce the number of frequency change. This algorithm saves the power consumption about 10 to 25 percent compared to a CC RT-DVS method and a frequency-smoothing method.
