  • The purpose of this study is to optimally allocate the human resources to tasks while minimizing the total daily human resource costs and smoothing the human resource usage. The human resource allocation problem (hRAP) under consideration contains two kinds of special constraints, i.e. operational precedence and skill constraints in addition to the ordinary constraints. To deal with the multiple objectives and the special constraints, first we designed this hRAP as a network problem and then proposed a Pareto multistage decisionbased genetic algorithm (P-mdGA). During the evolutionary process of P-mdGA, a Pareto evaluation procedure called generalized Pareto-based scale-independent fitness function approach is used to evaluate the solutions. Additionally, in order to improve the performance of P-mdGA, we use fuzzy logic controller for fine-tuning of genetic parameters. Finally, in order to demonstrate the applicability and to evaluate the performance of the proposed approach, P-mdGA is applied to solve a case study in a hotel, where the managers usually need helpful automatic support for effectively allocating hotel staff to hotel tasks.

  • In this paper, we present the algorithm to enhance the high frequency components of the image by subtracting smoothing version of an image from the original image. In a word, this is the technique to get more a precise and vivid image. The method of Gaussian smoothing is accepted to get the components of the flat image. Moreover we need to consider the size of the gain of the proposed filter in order to preserve the overall brightness of a image. Based on the algorithm verified by MATLAB, we can obtain more vivid and fuller detail of the image than an original image.

  • A new level set based topology optimization employing inner-front creation algorithm is presented. In the conventional level set based topology optimization, the optimum topology strongly depends on the initial level set distribution due to the incapability of inner-front creation during optimization process. In the present work, in this regard, an inner-front creation algorithm is proposed. in which the sizes. shapes. positions, and number of new inner-fronts during the optimization process can be globally and consistently identified by considering both the value of a given criterion for inner-front creation and the occupied volume (area) of material domain. To facilitate the inner-front creation process, the inner-front creation map which corresponds to the discrete valued criterion of inner-front creation is applied to the level set function. In order to regularize the design domain during the optimization process, the edge smoothing is carried out by solving the edge smoothing partial differential equation (PDE). Updating the level set function during the optimization process, in the present work, the least-squares finite element method (LSFEM) is employed. As demonstrative examples for the flexibility and usefulness of the proposed method. the level set based topology optimization considering lightweight design of 3D shell structure is carried out.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel method to improve the performance of the improved minima controlled recursive averaging (IMCRA) in non-stationary noisy environment. The conventional IMCRA algorithm efficiently estimate the noise power by averaging past spectral power values based on a smoothing parameter that is adjusted by the signal presence probability in frequency subbands. Since the minimum of smoothing parameter is defined as 0.85, it is difficult to obtain the robust estimates of the noise power in non-stationary noisy environments that is rapidly changed the spectral characteristics such as babble noise. For this reason, we proposed the modified IMCRA, which adaptively estimate and updata the noise power according to the noise type classified by the Gaussian mixture model (GMM). The performances of the proposed method are evaluated by perceptual evaluation of speech quality (PESQ) and composite measure under various environments and better results compared with the conventional method are obtained.

  • The goal of this paper is to suggest an algorithm to get forecasting for the numbers of students in the city or county in local government by using the double exponential smoothing method. By 2044 year, the third year of high school students in the Chilgok, Gumi, Gyeongsan, Andong, Pohang and Gimchen are reduced about 40-70%, the those of in the remaining city or county are reduced about 70-95%. In conclusion, the forecasting numbers of students of the 23 counties in Kyungbuk Province are on the decrease to 40%-100% until 2044 year in comparison with the numbers of students on 2010 years.

  • This paper is aimed at developing an location tracking system of mobile station based on currently available mobile communication network or mobile Phone and PCS(Personal Communication System). When the location tracking of mobile stations is in services, Emergency-119, all of crime investigation, effective urban traffic management and the safety protection of Alzheimer's patients can be available. In order to track the location of the mobile and base station, assumption in this paper is to use the statistic characteristics of LOS when modeling the standard noise in case that radio path is LNOS environment. The standard variation of the standard noise is $\pm150$. First, location is estimated by the positioning algorithms of TOA and TDOA and compared each other. Second, after canceling the standard noise by Kalman filter, location is estimated by the above two positioning algorithms. Finally, the location by the Kalman filter and two positioning algorithms is estimated by smoothing method. As a result, 2 dimensional average location error is imvoved by 51.2m in TOA and 34.8m in TDOA when Kalman filer and two positioning algorithms are used, compared with the two positioning algorithm used. And there is 3 more meter improvement after smoothing than Kalman filer and two positioning algorithms used.

  • In Bayesian SPECT reconstruction, the incorporation of elaborate forms of priors can lead to improved quantitative performance in various statistical terms, such as bias and variance. In particular, the use of higher-order smoothing priors, such as the thin-plate prior, is known to exhibit improved bias behavior compared to the conventional smoothing priors such as the membrane prior. However, the bias advantage of the higher-order priors is effective only when the hyperparameters involved in the reconstruction algorithm are properly chosen. In this work, we further investigate the quantitative performance of the two representative smoothing priors-the thin plate and the membrane-by observing the behavior of the associated hyperparameters of the prior distributions. In our experiments we use Monte Carlo noise trials to calculate bias and variance of reconstruction estimates, and compare the performance of ML-EM estimates to that of regularized EM using both membrane and thin-plate priors, and also to that of filtered backprojection, where the membrane and thin plate models become simple apodizing filters of specified form. We finally show that the use of higher-order models yields excellent "robustness" in quantitative performance by demonstrating that the thin plate leads to very low bias error over a large range of hyperparameters, while keeping a reasonable variance. variance.

  • We have constructed a 3-dim hydrodynamics code called BTSPH. The fluid dynamics part of the code is based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH), and for its Poisson solver the binary tree (BT) scheme is employed. We let the smoothing length in the SPH algorithm vary with space and time, so that resolution of the calculation is considerably enhanced over the version of SPH with fixed smoothing length. The binary tree scheme calculates the gravitational force at a point by collecting the monopole forces from neighboring particles and the multipole forces from aggregates of distant particles. The BTSPH is free from geometric constraints, does not rely on grids, and needs arrays of moderate size. With the code we have run the following set of test calculations: one-dim shock tube, adiabatic collapse of an isothermal cloud, small oscillation of an equilibrium polytrope of index 3/2, and tidal encounter of the polytrope and a point mass perturber. Results of the tests confirmed the code performance.

  • Conventional block-based video coders induce annoying blocking artifacts in very low bitarte coding. We propose a delocking filter which is appropriate for real time operation in a conventional video decoder. The proposed algorithm uses on dimensional filtering across block boundaries horizontally and vertiaclly with two separate filtering modes. The mode decision is quite simple but is fully based on the characteristics of human visual system and video sequences. In flat regions, a strong smoothing filter is appliced; and in the other regions, a moew sophisticated smoothing filter, which is based on the frequency information around block boundaries, is used to reduce blocking artifacts without introuducing undesired blur. Eeven though the proposed deblocking filter is quite simple, simulation results show that it improves both subjective and objective image quality for various image features.
