Mediating Effect of Adolescents' Smart-Phone Addiction in the Relationship between Family Function and School Adjustment Resilience (가족기능성과 학교적응유연성의 관계에서 청소년 스마트폰 중독의 매개효과 검증)

  • This study aims to examine the effects of adolescents' family function and School adjustment resilience on smartphone addiction through verification using the structural equation model. To attain the goal, the study collected data through a survey to elementary school fifth and sixth graders and middle school students living in Busan during March in 20l3. The result of this study shows that family function exerts negative effects on smartphone addiction and positive effects on school adjustment resilience. And smartphone addiction is found to show partial mediating effects in the relations between family function and school adjustment resilience. Based on the above results of this study, the paper suggests measures to enhance social interest in adolescent smartphone addiction and also methods to prevent smartphone addiction and intervene with families and schools for therapeutic intervention.

The Effects of College Students' Emotional Expressiveness on their Smart Phone Addiction : The Mediating Effects of Self Concept (정서표현이 스마트폰중독에 미치는 영향 -자아개념의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the Emotional Expressiveness, Smartphone Addiction, and Self Concept of college students and investigate whether the Self Concept mediate the relationship between the Emotional Expressiveness and Smartphone Addiction. The subjects of this study are 175 college students of 3 colleges located in M-si, J-si and G-si and data collecte for 21 days from June 1 through June 21, 2017. As Emotional Expressiveness increase, Self Concept increase (${\beta}=.286$, p<.01); as their Self Concept increase, their Smartphone Addiction decrease (${\beta}=-.269$, p<.05); and their Self Concept full mediate the relationship between their Emotional Expressiveness and Smartphone Addiction(Z=3.447, p<.01). To alleviate the Smartphone Addiction college students, their Emotional Expressiveness and their Self Concept need to be improved.

  • Due to the advent of new smart devices, the new technology addiction problems have been much severer than the Internet addiction recently. A lot of research about each technology addiction has been proposed, but the research about the changes in the addictions has been rare. In this paper, we analyze how the environmental factors such as parents and friends affect the personal factors such as time perspectives and technology usage time. In addition, we get the relative importances among the factors which influence on the Internet and mobile phone addictions. As a result, we can analyze the relationships among the factors and the differences between the two addictions with time perspective. In order to achieve our goals, we surveyed on 1,420 primary and secondary school students. We also provided the results produced by structural equation model and Budescu's Dominance analysis. Based on these analyses, we described the differences between the Internet and mobile phone addictions and proposed an alternative to prevent new technology addictions.

  • Recently, the use of Smartphones has been widespread and changed our lives positively. Smartphones which are called as PC in the hand and spread general people rapidly are becoming a medium to use generally various functions such as internet, work, multimedia, etc. beyond the simple function of telephone communication in the past. However, the excessive use of Smartphones has also produced many side effects. The purpose of this study is to examine the Smartphone Addiction on Daily Life Impact. This model tests various theoretical research hypotheses relating to Self-Esteem, Enjoyment, Flow, Social Impact, Smartphone Addiction and Daily life impact. The proposed model is analyzed to target 299 University Students and Smart Partial Least Square(PLS) 2.0 have been utilized for deriving the study results. The Result of Hypothesis testing are as follows. First, Self-Esteem negatively influence Smartphone Addiction. Second, Enjoyment, Flow and Social Impact positively influence Smartphone Addiction. Third, Smartphone Addiction positively influence Daily Life impact. This Research makes a basic research for smart phone addiction papers that will be investigated a lot in the future.

  • This paper is focused on the investigation of the negative factors from smart-phone as internal affecting the use of smartphone and found their relationship. For the validation of this study model, 300 university students randomly selected in Seoul and Gyeongnam province. The measurement model was evaluated by using SPSS 18.0, and the evaluated result was summarized as follows. First, it was found that the techno-stress of smartphone user significantly associated with the fun and pleasure felt from using smatphone. It was assumed that a higher techno-stress negatively affects fun and pleasure from using smartphone. Second, the techno-stress of smartphone users was found to affect smartphone addiction. This means that more techno-stress users feel as they use smartphone, the more tendency to smartphone addiction. Third, flow was significantly associated with the smartphone addiction. Forth, Flow was significantly associated with satisfaction of the smartphones use. Fifth, it was indicated that when users had more flow and addiction from using smartphone, their satisfaction level was also higher.

A Study on the Influence of Smartphone Addiction Risk Factors on Self-elasticity and Smart Phone Addiction in Teenagers (청소년의 스마트폰 중독 위험요인이 자아탄력성과 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study seeks to establish the structural relationship between the personal psychological risk factors of teenagers of depression, anxiety and impulsiveness and smartphone addiction (daily disability, virtual orientation, tolerance, withdrawal) and self-elasticity (vitality, optimism, curiosity, interpersonal relationships). Through this verification, the purpose of this study is to find out if the integrated model of smartphone addiction and self-elasticity and smartphone addiction among teenagers is reasonable, and to suggest ways to prevent and solve smartphone addiction among teenagers. In order to achieve this purpose, 356 teenagers in Seoul and the metropolitan area were surveyed for two months from August to September 2019 and the results were analyzed. The findings of this study are as follows. First, the "smartphone addiction factors" (depression, anxiety and impulsive) of adolescents have been shown to have negative effects on their self-elasticity (vitality, optimism, curiosity, interpersonal relationships). Second, the "smartphone addiction factors" (depression, anxiety and impulsive) of teenagers have been shown to have positive effects on the "smartphone addiction" (daily disability, virtual orientation, tolerance, withdrawal). Third, the youth's "self-elasticity (vitality, optimism, curiosity, interpersonal relationship)" was shown to have a negative impact on "smartphone addiction (daily disability, virtual orientation, tolerance, withdrawal)." The significance of this study is that it has examined personal psychological risk factors that affect smartphone addiction and suggested measures to prevent smartphone addiction among teenagers and solve related problems by micro-analyzing the effects on smartphone addiction by utilizing self-elasticity.

A Study on Smartphone Addiction, Mental health and Impulsiveness For High School Students at Korea (고등학생의 스마트폰 중독과 정신건강, 충동성에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the causal relationship between the smartphone addiction proneness, mental health, and impulsiveness of high school students in Korea. 804 first and second year high school students participated in the survey that included the Smartphone addiction scale, Korean Brief Mental Diagnosis Exam - the highest 25% of total score (Addictive SmartPhone Use Group : ASPUG 213 persons), the lowest 25% of total score(Non-Addictive SmartPhone Use Group : NASPUG 204 persons), BIS-II Impulsiveness Scale and additional questions asking for demographical characteristics. The outcomes of this study were as follows. First, sex, grade of high school, academic accomplishment, student's satisfaction with school life, monthly allowance, the level of parental respect, having a opposite sex friend were related to smartphone addiction and impulsiveness. Second, ASPUG had worse mental health and impulsiveness than NASPUG, and the difference was statistically significant. Third, Students showed higher levels of mental health 9 subareas - anxiety, depression, phobic anxiety, Somatization, obsessive compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, hostility, Paranoid ideation, Psychosis as their smartphone use increased.

  • This study was conducted to investigate how adolescent's smart phone addiction affect psychological mindedness. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, Jeonju-si and Jeollabuk-do adolescent's enrolled in a survey. t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis and regression analysis was performed by using SPSS program. The result of this study is that adolescent's smart phone addiction affect on psychological mindedness significantly. Smartphone addiction had a significant influence on psychological mindedness in negative way. The results of this study of adolescent's addicted to smartphones with a greater understanding of material will be important to broaden adolescent's is desirable to recognize the direction of smartphones will be able to provide that opportunity.

  • This study examined what leads to smartphone addiction by looking into personal, environmental, and smartphone characteristics, to identify their influences on the degree of addiction and changes in daily life. Therefore, surveys were conducted on college undergraduates, who get easily addicted to smartphones The study hypotheses were evaluated through a structural equation model on a total of 370 collected survey questionnaires Findings revealed: first, with reference to personal characteristics, the more competent and highly related one is, the more negatively influenced one is in getting addicted to smartphones. Second, as for environmental characteristics, the bigger the social impact is, the more positively influenced one is on smartphone addiction. Third, among the characteristics of a smartphone, the ubiquity showed a positive influence on smartphone addiction. Lastly, the degree to which one is addicted to a smartphone has(either positive or negative) on the changes in one's daily life. These results are not intended to blindly inhibit smartphone use by highlighting the negative aspects of smartphones, but are expected to serve as basic data to develop a preventative and remedial program based on the degree of smartphone addiction.

Pattern Study on smartphone addiction group (스마트폰 중독 정도에 따른 패턴연구)

  • The smartphone addiction research to identify the pattern according to your smartphone addiction. Recovery of 689 to 1429 parts by distributing the total recovery is 48.22%, respectively. Were utilized to study 650 data. Smartphone addiction group was divided into low, group care, group into three groups according to the degree of severity smartphone addiction. The response that smartphone addiction severity group 135 people 86.5%, lower addiction group 59 people% smartphone smartphones note 165 people group 50.2%, 35.5 'no' do you think about the own smartphone addiction (p <0.001). Showed that exceeds 50% of the smartphone severe poisoning group and attention should use having a chat group with respect to the smart phone. Also showed that beyond a midnight bed time group the more severe the smartphone addiction. Usual findings for bedtime showed a tendency to sleep late pass midnight smartphone addiction show higher water shortage phenomenon. Could be used as the basis for the study which may be a healthy life to predict the degree of occurrence of a pattern according to the type of smart phone poisoning by identifying the factors of the individual according to the degree of poisoning smartphone pattern.
