  • Instructional contents are used to demonstrate a technical process to teach and walkthrough certain procedures to carry out a task. This type of informational content is widely used for teaching and lectures in form of tutorial videos and training videos. Since there are questions and uncertainties for what could be the killer application for the novel wearables, we propose a self-instruction training application on a smart glass to utilize already-available instruction videos as well as public open data in creative ways. We design and implement a prototype application to help users train by wearing smart glasses specifically designed for two concrete and hand-constrained use cases where the user's hands need to be free to operate. To increase the efficiency and feasibility of the self-instruction training, we contribute to the development of a wearable killer application by integrating a voice-based user interface using speech recognizer, public open data APIs, and timestamp-based procedural content navigation structure into our proof-of-concept application.

  • In this study, the vibration-based tactile actuator for smart wear applications is presented by using piezoelectric ceramic transducers. The compact wireless actuation system is constructed with a high voltage piezoelectric amplifier, a microcontroller, wireless communication module, and rechargeable lithium-polymer battery. For the wireless communication between a hardware and an operator, the bluetooth-based wireless communication system is prepared and the user interface is provided via smart phone applications. From a series of experimental user studies, it is demonstrated that the proposed vibro-tactile actuator based on piezoelectric ceramic transducers can be effectively applied to smart wear applications.

  • Smart Home or Home Network technology is one that continuously creates added value, making a better life. This paper designed and developed a smart home control system using smart phone. This proposed smart home system consists of home server control system, remote smart application system and home node structure. Home node structure, in detail, is composed of intrusion detection, gas leakage or gas valve control, door lock, automatic curtain, ventilation control and On/Off control modules and these modules are controlled at home server. Home server makes it easy to control home automatic control system anytime, anywhere as it provides remote interface that enables control via smartphone and user interface in itself.

  • Smart-phone Applications are consists of UI(User Interface). During using applications, UI events such as button click and scroll down are transmitted to Smart-phone system with many changes of UI. In these UI events, various information including user-input data are also involved. While Keylogging, which is a well-known user-input data acquisition technique, is needed a restrictive condition like rooting to obtain the user-input data in android environment, UI events have advantage which can be easily accessible to user-input data on user privileges. Although security solutions based keypad in several applications are applied, we demonstrate that these were exposed to vulnerability of application security and could be obtained user-input data using UI events regardless of presence of any security system. In this paper, we show the security threats related information disclosure using UI events and suggest the alternative countermeasures by showing the replay-attack example based scenarios.

  • In the pandemic era, smart medical technology has also been applied to prevent and control diseases such as COVID-19. Health QR code system shave sparked recent discussion in the hopes of improving its convenience and safety. The many types of current health QR code systems in China exists causes inconvenience to those that are vulnerable, as well as raising the issue of personal information protection. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes transparent integration of the health QR code systems and the process of protecting personal information, as well as designs an interface for user convenience. Through the method presented in this paper and the newly designed interface, users can enjoy the smart pharmaceutical system more conveniently and safely, and ensure effective results in the prevention and control of diseases that are likely to spread.

  • Touch interface has been introduced as one of the most common input devices that are widely used in the Smart Device. Recently Force-Touch interface, a new approach of input method, having the power recognition mechanism, has been appeared in Smart industries. Force-Touching determining multiple things (the geographical and pressure values of touching point) in one touching act allows users to provide more than one input methods in a limited environments. Force-Touching Device is required different user communicational interaction than other common Smart devices because it is possible to recognize various inputs in the one act. It means that Force-Touching is only able to understand and to use the pressure sensitive values, not other Smart input methods. So, we built Force-Touch-Cover that makes typical Smart-Device to have Force-Touching interfaces. We analysis the accuracy of the Force-Touching-Cover's sensor and also assessment the changes in pressure values depending on the pressure position. Via this Paper, We propose the implement of user-oriented Force-Touching interface that is based on users' feedback as our conclusion.

  • Augmented reality applications offering location based service on smart phone require attention to users and new usability evaluation methods. The aim of this paper is to introduce new usability principles for application development and usability evaluation, and conduct expert evaluation on the augmented reality applications. We created a set of usability principles by analyzing characteristic of augmented reality applications, and conducted expert evaluation on three augmented reality applications primarily used by smart phone users. In expert evaluation and filtering procedure, we identified six usability problems that three applications have in common and the improvement guideline for the usability problems. The results of expert evaluation was verified by user test with a prototype that was developed using the guidelines. It is expect that the results of this study can be presented usability principles of the augmented reality application and a method of usability evaluation in the middle of new technology development process.

  • This research suggests scenarios of learning in real life contexts with smart devices and provides user interface prototypes to show their characteristics more effectively. For this, literature review was conducted to understand the strength and limitations of current learning in which real life contexts are used. Then, the characteristics of smart devices as a support tool of learning service was reviewed. With such understand, a user research was executed to establish 10 design guidelines for learning service in real life contexts. Finally, this paper suggested two scenarios that shows learning in real life contexts as case studies and their detailed user interface protypes.
