  • With the advent of the 4-th industrial revolution, manufacturing companies have increasing interests in the realization of smart manufacturing by utilizing their accumulated facilities data. However, most previous research dealt with the structured data such as sensor signals, and only a little focused on the unstructured data such as text, which actually comprises a large portion of the accumulated data. Therefore, we propose an association rule mining based facility error pattern extraction framework, where text data written by operators are analyzed. Specifically, phrases were extracted and utilized as a unit for text data analysis since a word, which normally used as a unit for text data analysis, is unable to deliver the technical meanings of facility errors. Performances of the proposed framework were evaluated by addressing a real-world case, and it is expected that the productivity of manufacturing companies will be enhanced by adopting the proposed framework.

  • TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) is one of the urban structure concentrated on the multifunctional space/district with public transportation system, which is introduced for maintaining sustainable future cities. With such trends, the project of building complex transferring centers located at a urban railway station has widely been spreaded and a comprehensive and systematic analytical framework is required to clarify and readily understand the complicated procedure of estimation with the large scale of the project. By doing so, this study is to develop a comprehensive analytical framework for estimating a pedestrian OD matrix using a spatial information and an integrated smart card data, which is so called a data depository and it has been applied to the Samseong station for the model validation. The proposed analytical framework contributes on providing a chance to possibly extend with digitalized and automated data collection technologies and a BigData mining methods.

  • The ICT convergence and intelligence information technology has many influences on the whole smart society in the $4^{th}$ industrial revolution era. However, preparations degree of our country is not high as for the intelligence information technology. It is not easy to adopt a new technology on education for cultivating the creative future human resources to match a pace with intelligent smart society. In addition, it is hard work to find and derive the appropriate technology for education because proper and effective proof includes much difficulties. Therefore, this study develop the e-learning standard technology framework through the derivation of educational standard technology element and the suggestion of medium and long term standardization framework for the intelligence information society.

  • We are living in the era of globalization, convergence of multi technologies and dual service system especially in the cultural, social, political, economical and technical aspects. These waves are making us go beyond Information Society and urge to enter the Smart Society. In the past, we have focused only on creating, proceeding and accumulating vast amount of information. Where as today, we are hoping to be provided with more intellectual, cheep, and converged form with the help of stored information without any space and time constraints. In this thesis, with consideration of the knowledge based society service integration paradigm, we will first look at the concept of Smart Service with various case studies, proposition strategy implementation on Smart Platform by analysing the service the implementing aspect, looking at the roles of each related divisions, and measuring the secure elements etc.

  • This research aims to investigate how major cities in Korea utilize smart city-related technologies, develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the smartness and efficiency of cities, and propose a methodology for assessing and suggesting smart city policy directions based on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Referring to the CITYkeys Smart City Performance Measurement Framework, 10 key performance indicators (KPIs) were derived. For each KPI, city statistical data were allocated to input and output variables, and 15 cities were assigned as Decision Making Units (DMUs). The DEA methodology was employed to evaluate the operational efficiency and scale profitability of cities, providing insights into the operational efficiency of each city. Finally, the operational efficiency among DMUs was ranked to propose smart city policy directions for each city.

  • For the information services supporting requests of data items from a great number of mobile clients, wireless data broadcasting is an effective way because it can accommodate any number of clients. In the wireless data broadcasting, various air indexing schemes and data scheduling schemes have been developed in order to enable the clients to access their desired data items efficiently. The broadcasting system needs a method to simulate newly designed air indexing and scheduling schemes of the system, and to evaluate the performance parameters of the schemes. In this paper, we design an expandable and efficient simulation framework for the wireless data broadcasting based on the partition of data ID space. The framework can adopt regular and irregular space partition and evaluate various performance parameters of the broadcasting system. We implement a testbed of the broadcasting system using the framework, that adopts IIP, GDI and EXP as its air indexing schemes. We simulate the system using the testbed and evaluate the performance parameters of the system. Thus, we show the efficiency and expandability of the designed and implemented framework.

  • Everything in the world is becoming connected and interactive due to the Internet. The future of interactive smart environments such as smart cities, smart industries, or smart farms demand high network bandwidth, high network flexibility, and self-organization systems without costly hardware upgrades, and they provide a sustainable, scalable, and replicable smart environment backbone infrastructure. This paper presents a new Hybrid Software-Defined architecture for integrating Internet-of-Things technologies that are essential technologies for smart environments. It combines a software-defined networking infrastructure and a real-time distributed network framework with an advanced optimization to enable self-configuration, self-management, and self-adaption for providing seamless communication and efficiently managing a vast number of smart heterogeneous devices.

  • The current society, namely information society is now moving to a specific topic which is SMART. In this sense, recently a variety of social areas including communications and SOC domains are moving fast to this topic. In Korea, The electric power area has been doing a pioneering job relatively successfully and the water supply area is just now taking the first step. The purpose of this research is to develop a technical Framework for Smart Water Grid Service. Related researches has been studied and the 4 constituting technical element areas were defined first. For each of the four areas, a framework modeling was fulfilled and as a result, a TRM(Technical Road Map) was suggested for each of the area. Finally, an Enterprise TRM covering all of the 4 areas was described. Furthermore, the currently suggested Framework model was compared to a related model and it was found that the integration of the models is desirable to wholly cover from Macro to Micro level applications and services. It is expected that the current approach contribute, more or less, to the smart implementation in the areas of water management.

  • For supporting various mobile networks, this paper proposes a framework of distributed connection admission control, named SmartCAC. Especially, intelligent CAC operations are adopted in terms of interoperation between mobile nodes and mobile networks. This scheme does not need to correct information between networks. Basically vertical handover call can use guard channel that was reserved for handoff, because SmartCAC addresses the identification between vertical handover call and new call, delay and reliability as requirement of QoS for efficient connection control. The scheme also uses mobile terminal speed for network filtering. Especially an extended protocol is proposed to give different network states information to mobile nodes because there have been no ways for mobile nodes to compare the states of different networks. Sophisticated simulation study is performed in order to evaluate SmartCAC in terms of signaling cost. As a result, signaling cost of ours is up to 96% better than that of the existing scheme.

  • With the recent advance in smartphones, users are allowed to use mobile applications anytime anywhere, and change their way to interact with smart environment and people. As a result, the need for developing context-aware applications on smartphones has a great attention from users and developers. This paper proposes a context-aware framework for supporting UI/UX of smartphones. The proposed framework collects a wide range of sensory data from smartphones and allows developers to analyze and model context models for their desired apps. In addition, it also supports real-time inference within the apps to make them to adapt to context. In order to show effectiveness of the proposed framework, we introduce two smartphone apps: context-aware home screen and automatic detection of smartphone problem use. Therefore, we expect that the proposed framework will help developers easily implement their apps with respect to context-awareness.
