This paper proposes to increase the efficiency of energy in nodes, which rapidly drops during the transmission of the Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH), through the use of dual-hop layered application in the sensor field. Along with introducing the dual-hop method in the data transmission, the proposed single-hop method for short-range transmission and multi-hop transmission method between the cluster heads for remote transmission were also introduced. Additionally, by introducing a partial multi-hop method in the data transmission, a single-hop method for short range transmission method between the cluster heads for remote transmission was used. In the proposed DL-LEACH, the energy consumption of the cluster head for remote transmission reduced, as well as increased the energy efficiency of the sensor node by reducing the transmission distance and simplifying the transmission route for short-range transmission. As compared the general LEACH, it was adapted to a wider sensor field.

Smart grid that supports efficient energy production and management is used in various fields and industries. However, because of the environment in which services are provided through open networks, it is essential to resolve trust issues regarding security vulnerabilities and privacy preservation. In particular, the identification information of smart meter is managed by a centralized server, which makes it vulnerable to security attacks such as device stolen, data forgery, alteration, and deletion. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a blockchain based authentication protocol for a smart meter. The proposed scheme issues an unique decentralized identifiers (DIDs) for individual smart meter through blockchain and utilizes a random values based on physical unclonable function (PUF) to strengthen the integrity and reliability of data. In addition, we analyze the security of the proposed scheme using informal security analysis and AVISPA simulation, and show the efficiency of the proposed scheme by comparing with related work.
In wireless sensor networks, sensor nodes are deployed in a remote, harsh environment. When the power of the sensor node is consumed in such a network, the sensor nodes become useless together with the deterioration of the quality and performance of the sensor network which may save human life. Although many clustering protocols have been proposed to improve the energy consumption and extend the life of the sensor network, most of the previous studies have shown that the overhead of the cluster head is quite large. It is important to design a routing protocol that minimizes the energy consumption of each node and maximizes the network lifetime because of the power limitations of the sensor nodes and the overhead of the cluster heads. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an efficient clustering scheme that reduces the burden of cluster heads, minimizes energy consumption, and uses algorithms that maximize network lifetime. Simulation results show that the proposed clustering scheme improves the energy balance and prolongs the network life when compared with similar techniques.

In this paper, we propose a new routing protocol for wireless sensor networks. This protocol improves energy consumption of ML-LEACH by reducing the transmission distance of member node via Relay Node. Since clusters of each Layer in ML-LEACH are randomly formed, the distance, between member node and cluster head may be longer than specific distance, distance threshold value. To improve this, we propose the new routing protocol using 2-Hop transmission via Relay Node depending on the transmission distance of the member node.

In this study, through the accumulated technologies such as real-time monitoring of power consumption using power line communication (PLC) method, power control, and automatic blocking of standby power, to commercialize them, we developed the hardware design, algorithm, protocol and module along with data transmission using PLC. We conducted the study to develop advanced products. We also proposed cloud-based smart outlet products with a novel type of outlet. These products can measure the internal power consumption through the H/W modules and the modules that control the power of household appliances connected to the smart outlets and smart plugs. Subsequently, they transmit the measurements to the energy saving system server via a communication module. This system can control the terminal device connected to the Gateway (G/W) server through a mobile phone. This will allow the customer to check the power consumption of the building at any given time, to turn the terminal on/off, and to maximize the energy efficiency during the construction of new apartments or multi-family housing in an area.

In this paper, a development of agent-based IEDs(Intelligent electronic devices) for integration control of building microgrid in smart green building are proposed. To manage and control this complex energy system of smart green buildings, multi-agent system based networks is needed. Thus, several IEDs for utilizing multi-agent system are developed and modified for the their verification of performance as agent modules functions in the integrated experimental equipment. The good performance of these IED agents are verified from experimental results obtained from seamless bi-directional communication by SOAP/XML protocol between PC agent and IED agent.

The demonstration project of the electrical grid for Smart grid is progressed, the smart digital appliances AV technology, Smart home energy management technology charging the management function of complex energy for the automation management of air conditioning and heating, humidity and air, the health care technology charging the design of housing for the elderly and disabled and the measurement of individual bio information, and the Smart home security technology dealing with the biometric security and motion sensors, etc. have been studied. The power monitoring terminal which uses a variety of wired and wireless networks and protocol is the target additionally to be considered in addition to the security vulnerabilities that was occurred in the existing terminal. In this research paper, the author analyzes the cryptographic techniques corresponding to the smart meter occurred by the problems that are exposed on the outside which are vulnerable to physical attacks, and intends to propose the design of the security systems for the Smart meter terminal being able to maximize the efficiency of the terminal.
In traditional wireless communication systems the main power consumption is due to the actual transmissions power. Therefore, energy-constrained wireless networks have gained considerable research attention in recent years. Multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) structure, or multiple antenna communication is one of the techniques that has gain considerable importance in wireless systems and networks. In this paper, BER and throughput performance of MISO system with Go-back-N ARQ(Automatic Repeat Request) technique in wireless networks are analyzed and the energy consumption of MISO-based wireless networks is compared with conventional SISO-based wireless networks. Obtained results show the applicability of MISO system with Go-back-N ARQ technique in wireless networks with smart system design.
Recently, the smart devices has been possessed by a large majority of the adult, and offered various personalization services. This paper proposed the lightweight Intelligent Image Security System that notice the existence of any intruder in real time at the place of requiring the security by using smart device. The proposed image security system recognized whether or not intruder exists using the difference frame on the basis of Integral Image and the dynamic background updating algorithms. The intrusion notification is achieved by using the GCM push server that send massages in the application unit of user mobile device, and the SMTP mail server which is use of e-mail standard protocol. In case of the occurrence of intruder, GCM push server send an push-massage by the private mobile device, and SMTP mail server send the intruder's photograph and intrusion time. By the convergence of the various image processing algorithms and the performance of smart device, The proposed image security system can be applied to the various Intelligent Image Security field.
In this paper, we propose an IoT based smart outlet system for one-person household with electric safety, electric energy consumption management and transmission of messages to the reserved contacts by connecting the emergency network. The proposed smart outlet system is implemented by parsing packet data and protocol between server, module, application and WiFi AP receiver. The WiFi AP built for communication can be used not only for the outlet but also for the gas barrier, the door lock and the like. In addition, the proposed method can provide the remote monitoring function by receiving the amount of power of the receptacle received through the AC current sensor (SCT-013) in real time. The smart outlet system is expected to be capable of automatically shutting off the power in case of emergency through automatic power use analysis in addition to the standby power cutoff function.
