  • Recently, to enhance the quality and efficiency of health care services, smart health care services utilizing a smart phone and tablet pc are mainly being introduced into the large hospital and the interest for personal health record service which manages personal medical information utilizing PC and smart phone and technology development is actively underway. In order to build a next generation hospital information systems, the interoperability of data between the different hospital information systems and UX consistency between the various user devices must be assured. Therefore, in this paper, medical information standard and the study for improving the performance is conducted to design the gateway system which converting and integrating the medical information under multi-platform environment. In this paper, CCR standard is adapted to the mapping method between the data which is the key feature of the gateway system and design the system utilizing multi-table-based mapping method. To evaluate the performance of the system, experiment was done and the result has been improved approximately 20 percent for response rate.

  • New-born babies who require special attention medically are admitted often to incubator. Incubators are well equipped to fulfill take care of infants, but they have to hospital and so expensive. This paper proposes a smart incubator that can solve the problem of convenience and cost aspect of these incubators. Developed incubator enables near-field monitoring using Arduino Uno as the main control device and Bluetooth communication. The environment in the incubator measures temperature and humidity using a DHT22 sensor and the sound using a P5510 microphone. If the temperature and humidity data set by the user are lower or higher than the reference value, it is designed to operate the heating pad using the controller or turn on the fan to allow air circulation. The measured values in the incubator are displayed in real time on the user's smartphone monitoring screen and are programmed using app inventor. Developed incubators can help take care of infants at low cost in the home.

  • As the world becomes an aging society due to a decrease in the birth rate and an increase in life expectancy, a system for health management of the elderly population is needed. Among them, various studies on occupancy and activity types are being conducted for smart home care services for indoor health management. In this paper, we propose a random forest model that classifies activity type as well as occupancy status through indoor temperature and humidity, CO2, fine dust values and UWB radar positioning for smart home care service. The experiment measures indoor environment and occupant positioning data at 2-second intervals using three sensors that measure indoor temperature and humidity, CO2, and fine dust and two UWB radars. The measured data is divided into 80% training set data and 20% test set data after correcting outliers and missing values, and the random forest model is applied to evaluate the list of important variables, accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity.

  • u-Wellness is widely applicable to individuals and medical service providers such as hospitals and it includes u-fitness and video health counselling services at the side of the provider and stress management, obesity management, and the amount of exercise at the side of the individual. In this paper, we design and implement a smart health care system which uses the authentication device to identify an individual and the user's smart phone. Our system records and manages the amount of exercise on the basis of the prescription of health care professionals through the exercise equipment and Wi-Fi communication. Therefore, our system helps user do optimized amount of exercise through the health care professional's prescription. And our system quantifies the results of the measurement of body fat measuring machines and experts to build the database and automatically schedule.

  • Recent developments of smart phone and ICT, and explosive developments of wireless sensor area drive radical changes on traditional health care service. To accommodate the changes, many researchers have studied to expand traditional healthcare service areas including home care for independent living and public care for preventive and collaborative wellness area. This study proposes a research framework for healthcare information technology area based on Mettler and Raptis's(2012) work. Then, the study analyze the research trends in the area based on the framework. The area of monitoring patients health status at home using smart phone, providing innovative healthcare service by out-patients monitoring, and implementing preventive healthcare services are identified most active and emerging research agenda. It is expected that the research framework and implications of this study can assist future research efforts and practical utilization of healthcare information technologies.

  • Big data technologies are increasing the need for big data in many areas of the world. Recently, the health care industry has become increasingly aware of the importance of disease and health care services, as it has become increasingly immune to prevention and health care. To do this, we need a Big data system to collect and analyze the personal biometric data. In this paper, we design the biometric big data system using low cost wearable device. We collect basic biometric data, such as heart rate, step count and physical activity from Mi Band, and store the collected biometric data into MongoDB. Based on the results of this study, it is possible to build a big data system that can be used in actual medical environment by using Hadoop etc. and to use it in real medical service in connection with various wearable devices for medical information.

  • This study aimed to provide basic data for oral health promotion in adults by analyzing causal relationships for oral health practice determinants. A total of 204 questionnaires obtained from adults living in Busan and Gyeongnam area were analyzed to verify the study model with the Smart PLS v2.0 M2 software. Among oral health belief factors, the severity of and susceptibility to oral disease and benefit of oral care behavior affected oral health-related self-efficacy. The self-efficacy on ordinary oral health care behavior significantly affected overall oral health practice. The severity of and susceptibility to oral disease and benefit of oral disease prevention behavior affected toothbrushing habit and oral examination and training through toothbrushing-related self-efficacy. Therefore, the increased oral health-related self-efficacy through strategic efforts, including various training media development, with improved awareness of oral health belief by continuous oral health care program development will lead to continuous oral health practice in adults.

  • The brain-wave research provides relatively various information for brain condition in safety. The counselor or measuree will must easily reduce user TCO about the series of process for the measurement, analysis, and management of brain-wave, and can access to the desired information in real time. While the traditional method for brain-wave process was processed manually by the judgment of a specialist. In this paper the developed system is smart brain-wave care system based on optimizing and combining the 3-Tier client/server by IT with brain-wave technology including BQT. This system was developed in the real-time service with a completely automated process by the conveniently web interface. Our system currently gave a service at the field, and the collected data on DB were provided to researchers for the use of clinical research.

  • In this paper, we study the design and implementation of a smart home outing care system that recognizes the user's purpose of going out and delivers useful information that can help when going out. RSS service data of the Korea Meteorological Administration can be transmitted in real time using ESP8266, and a system that can provide weather information to users after analyzing the data using Arduino MEGA is implemented. Using App Inventor, you can pack the necessary items without forgetting, and you can change the settings according to the desired weather and purpose. The position of the microphone was placed outside to increase awareness by 12%, and the sensitivity of the pressure sensor was set to a maximum of 210 kΩ. If there is an obstacle between the doors, the doors open automatically. An ultrasonic sensor was placed on the ceiling of the drawer to recognize an object within the range of 0.5cm to 10cm to check the existence of an object, and a camera was installed to research a security reinforcement system.

  • Purpose: This study evaluated the effects of a cultural competence training program for public health nurses (PHNs) using intervention mapping. Methods: An embedded mixed method design was used. Forty-one PHNs (experimental: 21, control: 20) and forty marriage migrant women (MMW) (20, in each group) who were provided nursing care by PHN participated in the study. The experimental group was provided with a four-week cultural competence program consisting of an eight hour offline and online course, e-mail newsletters and social networking services (BAND). Transcultural Self-efficacy (TSE) of the PHNs, client-nurse trust, and satisfaction with nursing care of MMW were measured. Ten PHNs in the experimental group were interviewed after the experimental study. Results: The experimental group showed a significantly greater improvement in TSE, client-nurse trust, and satisfaction with nursing care than did the control group. Six themes emerged from qualitative data: (a) Recognizing cultural differences, (b) Being interested in the multicultural policy, (c) Trying to communicate in MMW's own language, (d) Providing medical information using internet and smart phone, (e) Embracing culturally diverse people into society, and (f) Requiring ongoing cultural competence training. Conclusion: Cultural competence training enabled PHNs to provide culturally competent care and contribute to MMW's health outcomes.
