Purpose: The purpose of this study is to suggest direction for dental technicians and management of dental laboratories to contribute to the improvement of oral health of citizens with high-quality dental prosthesis by researching operational status and management satisfaction of dental laboratories. Methods: In order to investigate operational status and management satisfaction of dental laboratories, this study conducted a questionnaire survey by mailing questionnaires to heads of dental laboratories designated as clinical training workshops of Department of Dental Technology of G University and a total of 158 questionnaires were used for analysis. Results: As for gender, males were 142 persons (89.9%) and females were 16 persons (10.1%). For location of the laboratories, number of laboratories in metropolitan cities was 94 (59.5%) while small and that in mid-sized cities was 64 (40.5%). As for the satisfaction with job, those who have managed dental laboratories for 23-30 years ($1.92{\pm}77$), transact with 7-12 dental clinics ($1.70{\pm}75$), had monthly income of 4-8 million won ($1.74{\pm}.80$) and had 8-10 employees ($2.33{\pm}.68$) were the highest in their satisfaction. As for satisfaction with management, those who have managed their business for 15-20 years ($2.86{\pm}.52$), transact with more than 20 dental clinics ($2.00{\pm}.04$), had monthly income of less than 4 million won ($2.00{\pm}.85$) and had less than 3 employees ($2.00{\pm}.62$) were the highest in their satisfaction. As for monthly income, those with less than 2 million won were 24 persons (15.2%), 2-4 million were 64 persons (40.5%), 4-6 million were 40 (25.3%), 6-8 million were 14 (8.9%) and over 8 million won were 16 persons (10.2%). As for number of employees, those with less than 3 employees were 32perosns (20.3%), 4-7 were 82 (51.9%), 8-10 were 26 (16.5%) and more than 11 were 10 persons (6.3%). As for severance payment, 84 persons practiced it according to Labor Standard Act (53.2%) and 34 practice it to a proper degree (21.5%) while 20 did not practice it at all (12.7%) and 20 persons did not respond to the question (12.7%). Conclusion: Although dental laboratories have rapidly expanded in number from 473 in 1986 to 2,400 in 2015, dental technician circles are facing difficulty in their management due to fierce competition and low profitability. Therefore, in order to improve this problem, it is necessary to readjust prices for dental prosthesis to realistic ones.
All the major ports around the world as well as those in Korea have been exploring their own strategies to survive rapidly changing marine transport environment worldwide. In particular, Busan New Port under development still fails to meet expected logistical traffic, although it operates 6 berths. That is why it is necessary to point out current challenges in logistical strategy of Busan New Port for fully dealing with logistical traffic. Therefore, this study can propose the following ways to facilitate logistical traffic of Busan New Port. First, it is necessary to apply equal tariff to incentives given to shipping agent under the associations between existing harbors and Busan New Port. Second, it is required to increase governmental subsidy for truck freight transport. Third, it is demanded to seek possible ways to transport export and import freight and thereby create independent logistical traffic. Fourth, it is necessary to contact shipping agents residing in new ports and establish a logistical program for shipping freights via Europe, Middle East and Russia as well as those by way of North America, Japan, Korea and China, ultimately making sustainable marketing strategy to create a series of continuous transshipment freight, not temporary one. Finally, it is advisable to operate networked logistical programs with small- or medium-sized overseas shipping agents in business association with large-scale overseas shipping agents.
This study analyzes the government-funded research institutions as players which derive inner transition based on technology, policy and market environment changes. In this study, the main case is KRICT(Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology) which tries to make post catch-up innovation in the organization. This institution has attempted to overcome the limitation such as change of technology paradigm and PBS(Project Based System) since 2000's. Responding to the needs of technology convergence and innovation by the paradigm change, KRICT has reformed organization and R&D management system prospectively. And this institution sets the goal like development of natural friendly technologies, small and medium-sized business support, and providing countermeasures of social problems. This case shows possibility of continuous innovation. There are some structural limitation like budget restriction, multiple organization structure, and biased quantitative assessment, but endogenous efforts of government -funded institutions make the new paradigm of post catch-up innovation.
This study examines the key factors which influence the strategic consideration and intention of adoption of internet marketing of small-and-medium sized companies, based on theoretical consideration of innovation diffusion theory and previous studies related. The result of analysis shows that the degree of market competitiveness, customer dependency, the level of internet marketing knowledge and experience have significant effects on both of strategic consideration and adoption intention for internet marketing. Also, learning commitment has negative influence on strategic consideration only, while environmental dynamism does on adoption intention. Comprehensively, the findings implies that firms consider selection of internet marketing to reduce the severity of competitiveness and that firms which has more knowledge or experience about internet marketing seems to consider selection of internet marketing through the perception of the effects of internet marketing or possible access to internet marketing. Based on the findings that the level of internet marketing knowledge and experience have much significant effects on both of strategic consideration.
The term, Mittelstand, has no exact english translation for the definition, but, today, Mittelstand refers to small and medium-sized enterprises(SME), mostly family-owned firms in Germany. The Mittelstand is called the backbone of the German economy because it drove the economic miracle after World War II. During the global recession and the euro zone's debt crisis in recent years, in which european businesses have faced the near-collapse of competitiveness particularly in manufacturing, the German exports are booming and exceeded exports of China in 2012. Most importantly, the Germany economic performance has been widely attributed to the strength of the Mittelstand. Many of countries, even some leading public companies are seeking to emulate the success of the Mittelstand. Investors evaluate that many of Germany's investable "hidden champions" are Mittelstand companies. The purpose of this study is to present some of answers to the following questions: Firstly, what makes the German Mittelstand so successful? Secondly, what does the success of the German Mittelstand mean for the Korean SMEs in global competitiveness? Thirdly, what Korean government has to do improve the global competitiveness of the Korean SMEs? Some discussions in this study mention the managerial implications for Korean exporting SMEs particularly in manufacturing. Several factors that account for the success of the German Mittelstand are technological excellence and the tradition of family-owned management, concentration on niche market and globalization, and institutional supports. There are some of important lessons to be learned from the German Mittelstand. If the purposes of Korean SMEs want to remain in the sustainable competitive advantage and withstand unforeseen economic turbulences in the future, they must be able to meet the followings: 1) Technology that meets the global standard or exceeding it 2) Competitiveness in price in the global market 3) Active involvement in the globalization process, utilizing various entry modes Innovative products at globally competitive price are a crucial point for Korean exporting SMEs to achieve their competitive edge over others in the target markets abroad. It is time for Korean SMEs to cultivate a core competence in manufacturing in order to position Korea as a global manufacturing hub with SMEs leading.

The public construction industry in Korea involves a variety of stakeholders, encompassing multiple layers of contractual relationships that crisscross between the State as project client and the contractors, as well as subcontractors. In such a hierarchical landscape, managerial crises of contractors involving bankruptcy or insolvency can result in unexpected damages for both clients and subcontractors. Accordingly, the applicable legal framework requires project clients to act as patrons in relation to making payments to subcontractors, and stipulates provisions pertaining to direct payments to subcontractors in order to promote the balanced development of the national economy in terms of the public interest by protecting small and medium-sized businesses working as subcontractors for large businesses. However, the relevant legal documents provide for different payment criteria and procedures from document to document, and leave room for variations in the interpretation and construction of applicable provisions, which leads to disputes and discrepancies in court rulings. For this reason, it is necessary not only to compare and analyze statutory provisions pertaining to direct payment to subcontractors, but also to review issues of contention in actual cases. This study aims to analyze issues in cases involving payment to subcontractors from the perspective of the project client overseeing and supervising the construction business. The conclusions from such an analysis will help to effectively resolve subsequent cases of a similar nature by suggesting a strategy to improve the relevant statutory provisions pertaining to direct payment to subcontractors.
Small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) have limited human and material resources than large firms. SMEs are characterized by high risk and dynamic working environments. Thus human resources having knowledge and technologies are very important factor for survival and performance in SMEs. Recently, as core employee group is a key asset to firm competitiveness, many SMEs attend to set up core employee policy and system. The purposes of this research are to examine the effect of core employee policy and core employee management system on competitiveness of human resource and organizational commitment in SMEs. The major findings of the research are core employee policy have non-significant influence core employee management system, core employee policy have positive influence competitiveness of human resource, core employee management system have non-significant influence competitiveness of human resource, and competitiveness of human resource have positive influence organizational commitment in SMEs.

COVID-19 is hitting the world. In order to bring about new ways of innovation in the space sector, we need to analyze changes in the space sector and design new challenge strategies. COVID-19 exposes inherent vulnerabilities in the space sector. In particular, COVID-19 is causing supply chain shocks in the space industry, resulting in delays in the supply of systems, subsystems and parts due to a complete or partial interruption of a manufacturing unit. As the overall impact of New Normal on the industry is overall, we continue to look at it in the space sector. COVID is causing supply chain shock in the space industry. It causes a delay in the supply of systems, subsystems and parts due to a complete or partial interruption of a manufacturing unit. In the supply of launch services, the launch schedule is being delayed, but the main launch is still taking place. Demand for major applications such as environmental monitoring is soaring in the earth observation utilization sector. Analyzing the impact on manufacturing, the vendor-based contraction is bringing delays in the supply of systems, subsystems and components, and launch service providers are trying to minimize delays in the launch schedule.
Previous studies related with the relationship between R&D and innovation have focused on the role of R&D on innovation, and the empirical results have been not consistent. Although government policy supports have been considered a crucial factor to make innovation, it is true that there are little studies investigating the moderating effects of government policy supports on the relationship between R&D and innovation. The studies related with government policy supports mainly examined the direct effects of government policy supports on innovation. Using 2008 innovation activity table from STEPI, this study investigated the effect of R&D on innovation and the moderating effects of government policy support on the relationship between R&D and innovation. The data used in this study contains 532 Korean small and medium sized firms and information was collected over 3 years(2006-2008). The empirical results reports that R&D positively influences innovation and the moderating effects of government policy on the relationship is statistically significant. Therefore, This study suggests that R&D is required to firms for innovation and government policy supports are needed for connecting the R&D and innovation.

Due to the structure of advanced installment sales of houses which is a construction industrial structure unique to Korea and the Project Financing (PF) project structure that includes construction companies' debt guarantee agreements, the changes in accounting methods resulting from the introduction of K-IFRSs are expected to act in a direction to deteriorate construction businesses' financial statements. Therefore, K-IFRSs are an important issue that can seriously affect the entire domestic construction industry and construction businesses are conceiving strategies to respond to the introduction of K-IFRSs. From this viewpoint, this study was intended to empirically analyze the effect of the introduction of K-IFRSs on construction businesses utilizing financial data applied with the K-IFRSs recently announced. In the analysis, the EDFs were calculated by business using the existing accounting standards GAAP and using K-IFRSs and the results were compared with each other. The results of the analysis indicated that most construction businesses were adversely affected by the introduction of K-IFRSs. It is also considered that businesses with relatively good financial statements under the existing accounting standards GAAP would be affected more by the introduction of K-IFRSs than other businesses. In addition, the introduction of K-IFRSs is expected to have larger effects on large construction businesses that have been providing debt guarantees for PF projects than on small or medium sized construction businesses.
