  • As the fourth industrial revolution era, lots of new convergence products are being launched but most of them are disappearing due to intense competition. In particular, small and medium-sized businesses(SMBs) don't have a lot of management capabilities, so they focus on performance and quality rather than considering specific marketing strategies when planning a product. However, if the strategy isn't included when new convergence products are planned, it can be difficult to enter the initial market and mainstream market. In this paper, we examined the risk factors that may occur in the process of transition from the initial market to the mainstream market, from chasm marketing perspective. Through this analysis, to launch new convergence product and go beyond chasm at the same time, we have analyzed the chasm marketing and social network perspective, and then suggested four marketing strategies. When SMBs make new convergence product enter into mainstream market, these marketing strategies will be favorable to them which want to position at the dominant advantage of the market in the fierce competition.

  • In the electronic component assembly business, when product defects occur, it is important to track incoming raw material defects or work defects, and it is important to improve suppliers or work sites according to the results. The core task of the smart factory is to build an integrated data hub to process storage, management, and analysis in real time, and to manage cluster processes, energy, environment, and safety. In order to improve reliability through accurate analysis and collection of production data by real-time monitoring of production site management for electronic parts-related small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the establishment of a smart factory is essential. This paper was developed to be utilized in the construction by defining the system configuration method, smart factory-related technology and application cases, considering the characteristics of SMEs related to electronic components that want to introduce a smart factory.

  • As the implementation of smart factories spreads widely, the need for research to improve data efficiency is raised by prioritizing massive amounts of big data using IoT devices in terms of relevance and quality. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether prioritizing big data in management accounting decisions such as cost volatility estimation and recipe optimization can improve smart solution performance and decision-making effectiveness. Based on the survey answers of 84 decision makers at domestic small and medium-sized manufacturers who operate smart solutions such as ERP and MES that link manufacturing data in real time, empirical research was conducted. As a result, it was analyzed that setting prioritization of big data has a positive effect on decision-making in management accounting. became In addition, it was found that big data prioritization has a mediating effect that indirectly affects smart solution performance by using big data in management accounting decision making. Through the research results, it will be possible to contribute as a prior research to develop a scale to evaluate the correlation between big data in the process of business decision making.

  • Startup enterprises are expanding at an alarming rate in both industrialized and developing countries simultaneously. Many difficulties confront young entrepreneurs in terms of organizational and human resource management. As a result, it is critical to research startup enterprises because they have received little attention from the scientific community. In this study, we solely considered new startup enterprises operating at the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) level in a developing country (Pakistan). The information was gathered through a survey method from ten businesses located in the metropolitan metropolis of Lahore. The correlation analysis was conducted to determine whether or not the hypothesized relationship between research variables was true. We discovered a positive and statistically significant association between all of the proposed hypotheses. The findings of this study have significant implications for industry, academics, and policymakers.

  • The aim of the study is to create a theoretical model and hypotheses on competitive advantages of exporting SMEs. For this we have proposed an integrated model in which learning competences and dynamic capabilities should have an influence on competitive advantages of the SMEs. This study have examined the influence of integrating and reconfigurating capability respectively. As a result, the learning competences had positive influences in dynamic capabilities and to the cost and service competitive advantage. To integrating capabilities had positive influences in competitive advantage. Besides, dynamic capabilities playing significant intermediate role only for the cost advantage through the analysis of intermediate effects of learning competence to the dynamic capabilities.

  • This paper empirically examines effects of exporting on employment over the period 2000-2007 for Korean listed and non-listed manufacturing firms. The paper employs the dynamic panel model of labor demand and controls for simultaneity of the exports and real wages using a two step random effect Tobit-DPD (Dynamic Panel Data) procedure. Our empirical results suggest that surprisingly, there is no robust evidence for employment effects of exporting of Korea's large firms and small-medium sized firms during the sample period after Korean financial crisis. This implies that Korean exporting patterns have been changed in a way that exporting highly capital intensive goods leads to importing more intermediate goods and thus to countervailing the employment effects of exporting. This suggests that expansion of exporting by lowering exporting prices through the bilateral FTA might not be helpful to enhancing employment in Korea.

  • This study aims to analyze the profitability of Robo-Advisors portfolio combined with the analysts' forecasts on the Korean stock prices. Sample stocks are 8 blue-chips and sample period is from 2003 to 2019. Robo-Advisor portfolio was suggested using the Black-Litterman model combined with the analysts' forecasts and its profitability was analyzed. Empirical result showed the suggested Robo-Advisor algorithm produced 1% annual excess return more than that of the benchmark. The study documented that the analysts' forecasts had an economic value when applied in the Robo-Advisor portfolio despite the prevalent blames from investors. The profitability on small or medium-sized stocks will need to be analyzed in the Robo-Advisor context because their information is relatively less known to investors and as such is expected to be strongly influenced by the analysts' forecasts.

  • The packaging plastic manufacturing(blown film) industry has long developed in China, but most of them are small/medium-sized enterprises, and it is very rare to have appropriate operation plans suitable for their own business. The packaging plastic manufacturing industry(blown film) follows a typical Make-To-Order method, and the sequence of processing orders is very important. Waste of materials incurred by frequent conversions of production cannot be avoided, and generally, related costs incurred during conversion production are also different. Therefore, this study developed a job sequence determination model for improving operating profits using @RISK simulation software, compared and analyzed 3 actionable clustering treatment methods proposed by technical managers and field experts under the actual situation of the factory.

  • Purpose - In this study, we aim to explore new distribution strategies for sustainable growth in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, focusing on SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) in Korea, and suggest ways to upgrade the government's official distribution channel to the next level. Design/methodology - First of all, this paper explored the prior research, the current status of sales support for SMEs, and the changes in the distribution industry due to COVID-19 pandemic. Based on Moon (2016)'s ABCD strategic model - Agility, Benchmarking, Convergence, and Dedication, the study then derived directions in which official distribution channels should move and the new distribution strategy for Korean SMEs to secure competitive advantage. Findings - First, in terms of 'Agility', in order to upgrade official distribution channels, which are currently at some competitive disadvantages compared to private distribution companies, we must quickly introduce technologies for the 4th industrial revolution, such as AI, Big Data, etc., and establish precise strategies to strengthen the capabilities of SMEs. Second, in terms of 'Benchmarking', the use of "Chamelezones" has been increasing to enhance the competitiveness of offline stores in line with recent ontact trends. Therefore, official distribution channels should also benchmark such cases, strengthening their competitiveness by utilizing offline spaces more efficiently and effectively. Third, in terms of 'Convergence', in line with the rapidly changing trend of the times, official distribution channels should also promote active partnerships with media commerce, e-commerce and ICT platforms, as well as cooperation with private retailers, and focus on creating synergy effects through them. Finally, from the perspective of 'Dedication', digitalization should be promoted step by step, finding the sector that can accelerate digital among the value chains of official distribution channels, and continuing to discuss how to digitize it realistically. Originality/value - Based on this analysis, we have presented strategies and implications for innovating official distribution channels for SMEs, which will contribute to enhancing the competitive advantage of official distribution channels in the post COVID-19 pandemic era.
