Modern industry has focused on processing that produce low- loss dielectric substrates used complex micron-sized devices using tick film technologies such as tape casting and slip casting. However, these processes have inherent disadvantages fabricating high density interconnect with embedded passives for high speed communication electronic devices. Here, we have successfully fabricated porous alumina dielectric layer infiltrated with polymer solution by using inkjet printing process. Alumina suspensions were formulated as dielectric ink that were optimized to use in inkjet process. The layer was confirmed by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) for measuring microstructure and volume fraction. In addition, the reaction kinetics and electrical properties were characterized by FT-IR and the impedance analyzer. The volume fraction of alumina in porous dielectric alumina layer is around 70% much higher than that in the conventional process. Furthermore, after infiltration on the dielectric layer using polymer resins such as cyanate ester. Excellent Q factors of the dielectric is about 200 when confirmed by impedance analyzer without any high temperature process.
Work roll wear in the cold rolling of mild steel strip is strongly affected by rolling materials, rolling conditions such as roll arrangement in the cold rolling mill and lubrication. The tests were performed to find the effects of roll arrangement n the cold rolling mill on the work roll wear under the same lubricating conditions. The obtained results are as follows:If the distance of cold rolling is about 60km, the surface roughness of its was reduced by half(Ra 0.49${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) and Pc(peak count) also was decreased to 60 ea/cm.It is easier for CC(Continuous casting) to make a slip on rolling than IC(Ingot casting). It is due to surface mirror in which first residual product appears and iron powder included Al2O3 is sticked. Because bending degree of 4Hi-rolling mill is higher than 6Hi-rolling mill, the first surface mirror was occurred to its center-point which is loaded strongly. 6Hi-rolling mill shape-controlled by intermediate roll doesn't need the initial crown to work roll. Therefore, fatigue and wear would appear a little bit.
Statement of problem. In-Ceram system is one of the all-ceramic crowns that can be used in anterior 3 unit fixed partial dentures and posterior single crowns. The alumina core used in In-Ceram system is manufactured using slip-casting technique. The slip-casting technique is difficult and technique sensitive. To improve this problem, tape-casting method was introduced into dentistry. There were no studies to examine the effect of margin design on the margin fitness of all-ceramic crowns fabricated from alumina tape. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to compare the marginal fitness of glass infiltrated alumina core fabricated from aqueous-based alumina tape according to different margin types ($90^{\circ},\;110^{\circ},\;135^{\circ}$ shoulder margin). Material and method. Three upper central resin incisors were prepared with $90^{\circ},\;110^{\circ}$, and $135^{\circ}$ shoulder margins for all-ceramic crowns, respectively. The resin teeth were duplicated and master die and special plaster die were made as usual. After alumina cores were fabricated from aqueous-based alumina tape, cores were cemented to each 15 epoxy dies replicated from three resin teeth with resin cement. These cemented cores were embedded in epoxy resin. Specimens were cut mesiodistally and buccolingually. Marginal gap and discrepancy were measured under microscope. Results. The marginal gap and discrepancy of $90^{\circ}$ marginal angle was $75.1{\mu}m,\;86.6{\mu}m,\;110^{\circ}$ marginal angle was $41.5{\mu}m,\;50.7{\mu}m$ and $135^{\circ}$ marginal angle was $51.7{\mu}m,\;54.2{\mu}m$, respectively. The smallest value was seen in 110 (angle, which was statistically significant compared to that of $90^{\circ}$ angle (p<0.05). Conclusion. Marginal fitness of alumina cores made of alumina tape with $110^{\circ}$ shoulder margin was best and others were clinically acceptable.
The purpose of this study was to compare the marginal fit of all ceramic crowns prepared from alumina slip casting, which is consistent with the conventional In-ceram system, and those fabricated from alumina tapes which is currently under development in an effort to alleviate complexities involved in the forming procedure of the In-ceram crown core. All ceramic crowns, made of In-ceram(slip casting) and alumina tapes(Doctor blade casting), were prepared with $90^{\circ}\;and\;135^{\circ}$ shoulder margins. The crowns were cemented with a glass ionomer cement and embeded in epoxy resin. The embedded crowns were sectioned faciolingually and mesiodistally and marginal discrepancies and marginal gaps were measured under the Measurescope MM II. The measurements were analyzed using Wilcoxon rank sum test and Kruskal-Wallis test and the results were as follows: 1. In the case of $90^{\circ}$ shoulder margin, the combined marginal discrepancies and marginal gaps were $78.3{\mu}m\;and\;44.4{\mu}m$ respectively, for the all ceramic crowns fabricated using the alumina tapes. In comparison, the values were $65{\mu}m\;and\;25.5{\mu}m$ for the In-ceram crowns. For the marginal gaps a statistical difference existed (p<0.05) but no significant difference was observed for the marginal discrepancy (p>0.05). 2. In the case of $135^{\circ}$ shoulder margin, the combined marginal discrepancy and marginal gaps were $82.1{\mu}m\;and\;40.2{\mu}m$ respectively, for the all ceramic crowns formed with the tapes. As compared with the marginal discrepancy and gaps of the $90^{\circ}$ shoulder margin in the fabricated from the alumina tapes, no significant statistical differencies were discerned in both cases (p>0.05). 3. There was no statistically significant difference in the fits among four locations around the margins of the all ceramic crowns fabricated using the alumina tapes. The results obtained in this study showed that the marginal fits of the glass infiltrated alumina cores fabricated from the alumina tapes are slightly higher value than those prepared using the In-ceram but the difference is within a clinically acceptable range.
The ceramic composite membrane was synthesized by thermal oxidation after evaporation of Al on the support prepared by slip casting process. Oxidation was performed at $700^{\circ}C$ and 80$0^{\circ}C$ under dry oxygen atmosphere. It was considered as optimum oxidation condition that the membrane showed a knudsen behaviro. A further oxidation resulted in an increase of gas permeability because top layer became densified. Then, a multi-layered composite membrane was synthesized through a sol-gel method, evaporation and thermal oxidation of Al coating processes. While the membrane was thermally stable up to 80$0^{\circ}C$, gas permeability was rapidly decreased even at a slight amount of deposition of Al.
High purity alumina has been extracted form low grade Korean alunite. Alunite ore was treated by 15% $NH_4OH$ solution, followed by 10% $H_2SO_4$ leaching and metallic impurities such as Fe and Ti were removed by solvent extraction method. Alumina prepared by the extraction process was 99.9% in purity. Hot Petroleum Drying Method has been employed for the preparation of uniformly fine alumina powder, using chemical reagent aluminum sulfate and ammonium aluminum sulfate extrated from Korea alunite. The sinterability of alumina powder prepared by Hot Petroleum Drying Method was shown to be improved in comparison with the one treated by other methods such as ball milling method, but dry pressing was difficult due to the agglomeration of calcined powder. The best slip of alumina powder prepared by Hot Petroleum Drying Method contained a lower soild content than the one treated by other methods. The alumina body formed by soild and drain casting with the former alumina powder showed a higher sintered density.
As an automotive industry's demand for lighter materials gets bigger and bigger, a lot of new strength Al alloys have been developed recently. In the present study, Al 6xxx series alloys were designed to get the strength level of 350MPa with the elongation of $12\%$. For that purpose, three alloy systems were selected based on the thermodynamics calculation. The effect of both $Mg_{2}Si$ precipitate and excess Si amount on the newly designed alloys was investigated. Also, heat treatment procedure was studied to optimize the mechanical properties.
FRP stay-in-place (SIP) formworks are designed as a support for casting concrete and as a tension reinforcement when concrete is cured. Bond development between SIP formwork and concrete is critical for FRP tension element to be effective. This paper reports the bond strength between FRP formwork and concrete for different interfacial treatments. A novel experimental setup is prepared for observing the bond behaviour. Three different adhesives with varying workability have been investigated. Along with the load-deformation characteristics, bond slip and strains in the formwork have been measured. A finite element numerical simulation was conducted for the experiments to understand the underlying mechanism. The results show that the adhesive bonding has the best bond strength.

In this paper, experimental investigations on high strength steel (HSS) stud connected steel-concrete composite (SCC) girders to understand the effect of shear connector density on their flexural behaviour is presented. SCC girder specimens were designed for three different shear capacities (100%, 85%, and 70%), by varying the number of stud connectors in the shear span. Three SCC girder specimens were tested under monotonic/quasi-static loading, while three similar girder specimens were subjected to non-reversal cyclic loading under simply supported end conditions. Details of casting the specimens, experimental set-up, and method of testing, instrumentation for the measurement of deflection, interface-slip and strain are discussed. It is found that SCC girder specimen designed for full shear capacity exhibits interface slip for loads beyond 25% of the ultimate load capacity. Specimens with lesser degree of shear connection show lower values of load at initiation of slip. Very good ductility is exhibited by all the HSS stud connected SCC girder specimens. It is observed that the ultimate moment of resistance as well as ductility gets reduced for HSS stud connected SCC girder with reduction in stud shear connector density. Efficiency factor indicating the effectiveness of high strength stud connectors in resisting interface forces is estimated to be 0.8 from the analysis. Failure mode is primarily flexure with fracturing of stud connectors and characterised by flexural cracking and crushing of concrete at top in the pure bending region. Local buckling in the top flange of steel beam was also observed at the loads near to failure, which is influenced by spacing of studs and top flange thickness of rolled steel section. One of the recommendations is that the ultimate load capacity can be limited to 1.5 times the plastic moment capacity of the section such that the post peak load reduction is kept within limits. Load-deflection behaviour for monotonic tests compared well with the envelope of load-deflection curves for cyclic tests. It is concluded from the experimental investigations that use of HSS studs will reduce their numbers for given loading, which is advantageous in case of long spans. Buckling of top flange of rolled section is observed at failure stage. Provision of lips in the top flange is suggested to avoid this buckling. This is possible in case of longer spans, where normally built-up sections are used.
