This paper describes the design of high-performance pedestrian and vehicle detection circuit using the Haar-like features. The proposed circuit uses a sliding window for every image frame in order to extract Haar-like features and to detect pedestrians and vehicles. A total of 200 Haar-like features per sliding window is extracted from Haar-like feature extraction circuit and the extracted features are provided to AdaBoost classifier circuit. In order to increase the processing speed, the proposed circuit adopts the parallel architecture and it can process two sliding windows at the same time. We described the proposed high-performance pedestrian and vehicle detection circuit using Verilog HDL and synthesized the gate-level circuit using the 130nm standard cell library. The synthesized circuit consists of 1,388,260 gates and its maximum operating frequency is 203MHz. Since the proposed circuit processes about 47.8 $640{\times}480$ image frames per second, it can be used to provide the real-time detection of pedestrians and vehicles.
A stream processor uses resource sharing method for efficient of limited resource in multiple continuous queries. The previous methods process aggregate queries to consist the level structure. So insert operation needs to reconstruct cost of the level structure. Also a search operation needs to search cost of aggregation information in each size of sliding windows. Therefore this paper uses linear structure for optimization of sliding window aggregations. The method comprises of making decision, generation and deletion of panes in sequence. The decision phase determines optimum pane size for holding accurate aggregate information. The generation phase stores aggregate information of data per pane from stream buffer. At the deletion phase, panes are deleted that are no longer used. The proposed method uses resources less than the method where level structures were used as data structures as it uses linear data format. The input cost of aggregate information is saved by calculating only pane size of data though numerous stream data is arrived, and the search cost of aggregate information is also saved by linear searching though those sliding window size is different each other. In experiment, the proposed method has low usage of memory and the speed of query processing is increased.

This paper analyses the real-time performance of Ethernet based intranet whether it is applicable to the real-time network. Unpredictability of transmission delay by collision-delay-retransmission mechanism in CAMA/CD(Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detect) of Ethernet is the major reason making hard to apply to real-time system. Both retransmission mechanism of TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) for reliability and sliding windows algorithm for high utilization make hard to predict transmission delay. Because real-time control network require fast responsibility and bustle of short-periodic messages, global-clock for collision avoidance and UDP(User Datagram Protocol) for high utilization of network are used. The mathematical models for time-delay that can be occured between ...

In this paper, we propose a novel method that can detect face region effectively with fuzzy theory and neural network We make fuzzy rules and membership functions to describe the face color. In this algorithm, we use a perceptually uniform color space to increase the accuracy and stableness of the nonlinear color information. We use this model to extract the face candidate, and then scan it with the pre-built sliding window by using a neural network-based pattern-matching method to find eye. A neural network examines small windows of face candidate, and decides whether each window contains eye. We can standardize the face candidate geometrically with detected eyes.
Accurate detection, tracking and analysis of human movement using robots and other visual surveillance systems is still a challenge. Efforts are on to make the system robust against constraints such as variation in shape, size, pose and occlusion. Traditional methods of detection used the sliding window approach which involved scanning of various sizes of windows across an image. This paper concentrates on employing a state-of-the-art, hierarchical graph based method for segmentation. It has two stages: part level segmentation for color-consistent segments and object level segmentation for category-consistent regions. The tracking phase is achieved by employing SIFT keypoint descriptor based technique in a combined matching and tracking scheme with validation phase. Localization of human region in each frame is performed by keypoints by casting votes for the center of the human detected region. As it is difficult to avoid incorrect keypoints, a consensus-based framework is used to detect voting behavior. The designed methodology is tested on the video sequences having 3 to 4 persons.

In this thesis, the problem of computing approximate answers to continuous sliding-window joins over data streams when the available memory may be insufficient to keep the entire join state. One approximation scenario is to provide a maximum subset of the result, with the objective of losing as few result tuples as possible. An alternative scenario is to provide a random sample of the join result, e.g., if the output of the join is being aggregated. It is shown formally that neither approximation can be addressed effectively for a sliding-window join of arbitrary input streams. Previous work has addressed only the maximum-subset problem, and has implicitly used a frequency based model of stream arrival. There exists a sampling problem for this model. More importantly, it is shown that a broad class of applications for which an age-based model of stream arrival is more appropriate, and both approximation scenarios under this new model are addressed. Finally, for the case of multiple joins being executed with an overall memory constraint, an algorithm for memory allocation across the join that optimizes a combined measure of approximation in all scenarios considered is provided.

Smart packet agent is an application that is proposed to provide routing protocol and service module in ubiquitous network environment. However, it uses multi-hop broadcast, thus it causes increasing network traffic, low-speed data transmission, and the unnecessary joining nodes. In this paper, a transmit technique that uses unicast-based multi-hop to have lower network traffic and faster transmission time than the multi-hop broadcast technique. In our scheme, u-Zone Master establishes temporary routing paths by calculating moving nodes' hop-counter. Therefore, it reduces smart packet agent's network traffic and retransmission rate. Besides, this paper proposed an UDP transmission that bases on sliding window. Hence, the Stop & Wait transmission speed is improved. The results, which are taken by analyzing performance prove that the proposed scheme has better performance.
Crevices between window and window frame cause not only heat losses but also serve path to sound transmission and infiltration of fine dusts that are harmful to humans. There were many efforts in the past to eliminate these crevices but because of the windows' indispensable function of opening and closing, it was an unsolvable problem. In this study, a new type sliding window is developed by applying horizontally rolling wheels to implement a surface sealing which is excellent for enhancing air tightness. To evaluate the feasibility of the newly developed window, forces for opening and closing, durability and air tightness were testet according to Korean Testing Standards. Force for opening a 2000 N window is 30 N. It endured 100,000 cycles of opening and closing. Infiltration was $0.00m^3/(m^2h)$ for a pressure difference of 10 Pa. Since this window has few moving parts, it has favorable features of low cost and few breakdown.
Conventional lane detection algorithms have problems in that the detection rate is lowered in road environments having a large change in curvature and illumination. The probabilistic Hough transform method has low lane detection rate since it exploits edges and restrictive angles. On the other hand, the method using a sliding window can detect a curved lane as the lane is detected by dividing the image into windows. However, the detection rate of this method is affected by road slopes because it uses affine transformation. In order to detect lanes robustly and avoid obstacles, we propose driving assist system using semantic segmentation based on deep learning. The architecture for segmentation is SegNet based on VGG-16. The semantic image segmentation feature can be used to calculate safety space and predict collisions so that we control a vehicle using adaptive-MPC to avoid objects and keep lanes. Simulation results with CARLA show that the proposed algorithm detects lanes robustly and avoids unknown obstacles in front of vehicle.
