Longitudinal anti-cracking analysis for post-tensioned voided slab bridges

  • Post-tensioned concrete voided slab girders are widely used in highway bridge constructions. To obtain greater section hollow rate and reduce the self-weight, the plate thickness of slab girders are designed to be small with the adoption of flat anchorage system. Since large prestress is applied to the anchor end section, it was found that longitudinal shear cracks are easy to occur along the voided slab girder. The reason is the existence of great shearing effect at the junction area between web and bottom (top) plate in the anchor end section. This paper focuses on the longitudinal anti-cracking problem at the anchor end of post-tensioned concrete voided slab girders. Two possible models for longitudinal anticracking analysis are proposed. Differential element analysis method is adopted to derive the solving formula of the critical cracking state, and then the practical analysis method for longitudinal anti-cracking is established. The influence of some factors on the longitudinal anti-cracking ability is studied. Results show that the section dimensions (thickness of bottom, web and top plate) and prestress eccentricity on web plate are the main factors that influence the anti-cracking ability. Moreover, the proposed method is applied into three engineering examples to make longitudinal anti-cracking verification for the girders. According to the verification results, the design improvements for these girders are determined.

Cracking and bending strength evaluations of steel-concrete double composite girder under negative bending action

  • The steel-concrete double composite girder in the negative flexural region combines an additional concrete slab to the steel bottom flange to prevent the local steel buckling, however, the additional concrete slab may lower down the neutral axis of the composite section, which is a sensitive factor to the tensile stress restraint on the concrete deck. This is actually of great importance to the structural rationality and durability, but has not been investigated in detail yet. In this case, a series of 5.5 m-long composite girder specimens were tested by negative bending, among which the bottom slab configuration and the longitudinal reinforcement ratio in the concrete deck were the parameters. Furthermore, an analytical study concerning about the influence of bottom concrete slab thickness on the cracking and sectional bending-carrying capacity were carried out. The test results showed that the additional concrete at the bottom improved the composite sectional bending stiffness and bending-carrying capacity, whereas its effect on the concrete crack distribution was not obvious. According to the analytical study, the additional concrete slab at the bottom with an equivalent thickness to the concrete deck slab may provide the best contributions to the improvements of crack initiation bending moment and the sectional bending-carrying capacity. This can be applied for the design practice.

벽식구조 공동주택의 바닥충격음 개선에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of the Floor Impact Sound Insulation Performance in Wall Slab Type Apartment)

  • Floor impact sound has been most annoying for years among the noises which are produced in apartment. This study aims to analyze the improvement of floor impact sound by comparing the results of the test which was carried out for the wall slab type apartment and moment frame apartment, and also for the effect of advanced vibration isolation layer. Moment frame structure that main structure consists of column and slab has shown better performance for the heavyweight impact sound comparing with wall slab type structure which is general type in Korea. Stiffness of floor system was raised by reinforcing the stiffness of vibration isolation layer, and it was analyzed how much the floor impact sound performance was improved. The result showed that the reinforced floor had better performance than the existing floor system that uses lightweight porous concrete as vibration isolation material. In addition, a system used wire mesh in mortar showed improvement of floor impact sound than a system without wire mesh, and better performance for the frequency bands lower than 160 Hz which causes floor impact problem in wall slab type apartment.

  • 본 연구에서는 2경간 합성바닥슬래브의 기여도를 반영하여 철골모멘트골조의 연쇄붕괴저항성능의 더욱 정확한 평가를 위해 사용할 수 있는 개선된 에너지기반 비선형정적 해석법을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해, 우선 재료적/기하학적 비선형 유한요소해석을 수행하여 2경간 합성바닥슬래브의 거동을 살펴보았다. 2경간 합성바닥슬래브의 변형형상을 이상화하여 에너지기반 해석을 위한 근사모델을 개발하였다. 제안모델은 기둥제거 시나리오하에서 2경간 합성바닥슬래브의 일방향 축인장력 및 변형에너지응답을 모델링하는데 쉽게 이용할 수 있음을 보여주고 있다.

복층터널 안정성 분석을 위한 빔-스프링 모델 개발 (Development of beam-spring model to analyse the stability of double-deck tunnel)

  • 본 연구는 복층터널 생애전주기 안정성 평가 프로그램 개발을 위한 초기 연구로서, 복층터널 안전성 분석을 위한 빔-스프링 모델 기반의 구조해석 솔버를 개발하였다. 구축된 복층터널의 빔-스프링 모델을 사용하여 중간슬래브 지지방식, 터널심도 및 지반탄성계수가 복층터널의 안정성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 분석하였으며, 상용 구조해석 프로그램과 비교검토를 수행하였다. 중간슬래브의 지지방식은 세그먼트 라이닝과 일체화 거동에 영향을 미치고, 터널심도가 깊어질수록 중간슬래브가 복층터널의 안정성에 미치는 영향력이 상대적으로 작아지는 것으로 판단된다. 지반탄성계수와 중간슬래브가 세그먼트 라이닝 부재력 분포에 미치는 영향의 관계는 추가적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

Effect of nonlinearity of fastening system on railway slab track dynamic response

  • Fastening systems have a significant role in the response of railway slab track systems. Although experimental tests indicate nonlinear behavior of fastening systems, they have been simulated as a linear spring-dashpot element in the available literature. In this paper, the influence of the nonlinear behavior of fastening systems on the slab track response was investigated. In this regard, a nonlinear model of vehicle/slab track interaction, including two commonly used fastening systems (i.e., RFFS and RWFS), was developed. The time history of excitation frequency of the fastening system was derived using the short time Fourier transform. The model was validated, using the results of a comprehensive field test carried out in this study. The frequency response of the track was studied to evaluate the effect of excitation frequency on the railway track response. The results obtained from the model were compared with those of the conventional linear model of vehicle/slab track interaction. The effects of vehicle speed, axle load, pad stiffness, fastening preload on the difference between the outputs obtained from the linear and nonlinear models were investigated through a parametric study. It was shown that the difference between the results obtained from linear and nonlinear models is up to 38 and 18 percent for RWFS and RFFS, respectively. Based on the outcomes obtained, a nonlinear to linear correction factor as a function of vehicle speed, vehicle axle load, pad stiffness and preload was derived. It was shown that consideration of the correction factor compensates the errors caused by the assumption of linear behavior for the fastening systems in the currently used vehicle track interaction models.

Opto-Hertzian 효과를 이용한 고주파 여기식 슬랩 CO2 레이저의 출력 안정화 (Power stabilization of a slab CO2 laser by using the Opto-Hertzian effect)

  • 본 연구에서는 opto-Hertzian 효과를 이용하여 고주파 여기식 슬랩형 $CO_2$ 레이저의 출력을 안정화하였다. 슬랩레이저 공진기속의 복사선 세기가 변화할 때 opto-Hertzian 효과에 의해서 공진기의 방전 임피던스도 함께 변화한다. 이에 따라 공진기로 입사 또는 반사되는 고주파 에너지 값도 변화한다. 이 같은 변화를 결합 루프를 통해 검출하여 고주파 성분을 제거한 후 록인 안정기에서 발생시킨 오차신호를 기준신호로 사용하여 슬랩 레이저의 출력을 안정화하였다. 본 방법으로 안정화된 레이저의 출력 변동률이 0.2%로 개선됨을 확인하였다.

  • 초전도체를 기계요소중 하나인 베어링에 응용하기 위한 연구는 임계온도가 액체질소의 비등점(77K)보다 높은 산화물 고온 초전도체가 발견된 이후 시작되었으며, 특히 최근에는 $10^4A/cm^2$이상의 임계전류밀도를 갖는 덩어리형 고온 초전도체가 용융공정을 통해 개발되어, 큰 부하지지력을 갖고 10$^{-8}$ 이하의 마찰계수를 갖는 초전도 마그네틱 베어링으로서 플라이휠 같은 에너지 저장장치에 적용시키는 연구가 국내외적으로 진행되고 있다. 고온 초전도체를 사용한 반발식 수동형 미그네틱 베어링은 Meissner effect뿐 아니라 Fluxpinning effect에 의해 자체적으로 외란에 대한 위치안정성을 가지며, 히스테리시스 손실에 의한 에너지 소산을 통해 외란에 대해 강한 감쇠능력을 가진다는 장점을 가지고 있으며, 대중량을 지지할 수 있다. 이러한 초전도체의 특성에 관한 정량적 수치해석은 초전도 베어링의 설계에 필수적이나 아직 국내에서는 그러한 시도가 없었다. 이러한 여건을 고려하여 본 연구에서는 초전도체와 자석간의 부상력 변화를 2차원 Slab모델로 수치해석하여 히스테리시스라는 주요한 특성을 고찰하고자 한다.

  • CFRD (Concrete Faced Rockfill Dam) face slab concrete has a much capability to occur crack due to drying shrinkage, hydration heat and bas compaction etc. Because of crack of concrete induce structural problem and decrease durability of concrete, it is need to reduce crack of concrete. This is an experimental study to analyze the effect of fiber reinforced on CFRD face slab concrete. for this purpose, it was investigated and analyzed the engineering properties of plain concrete and polypropylene fiber reinforced concrete (PFRC) according to test result ; the test include slump, air content, compressive strength, tensile strength, drying shrinkage and permeability etc. As the results, it was found permeability and drying shrinkage of PFRC less than that of plain concrete.

공동주택에서 중공 슬래브 바닥의 차음 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Sound Insulation at the Circular Voided Concrete Floor in the Multi-Housing)

  • The purpose of the resent research is to investigate the characteristics of sound insulation at the circular voided concrete slab in the multi-housing. In order to do this research, the method for field measurement of floor impact sound level was used following the Korea Standard F2810-1996. For the multi-housing, three kinds of circular voided concrete slabs are used to measure the characteristics of sound insulation.The results are as follows; 1.The main factor affecting the characteristics of sound insulation at the circular voided concrete slab in the multi-housing is sound-absorbing materials in the circular tube. 2. The main factor to effect the difference of sound pressure level is circular tube in the concrete slab. 3. The forms of circular tubes effect the characteristics of sound insulation at the circular tube. 4. Sound Pressure Level resulting from the piping direction of circular tubes in little different to octave band level.More study will be needed about the depth and distance of sound insulation materials, and the components of sound insulation materials for the multi-housing.
