The passage of railway vehicles generates mechanical vibrations and noises. This problem can be mitigated by the 'floating slab track' that isolating from infrastructures by installing vibration isolator in the concrete slab track. In the previous researches, adjacent floating slab tracks are connected by dowel bar system. It has been reported that many dowel bars with less diameter show better load transfer efficiency (LTE) compared to small number of dowel bars with larger diameter under the condition of the same dowel area. In this study, dowel system is further considered as a concrete anchorage system and the design strength of the dowel system was evaluated based on ACI code 318-08 Appendix D. The design strength of dowel system is then verified against failure load test of floating slab system.

Twelve column specimens were tested in compression, six were slab-column specimens and six were isolated column specimens. The slab column specimens were first tested to punching shear failure before the columns of the specimens were loaded axially. The effects of confinement from the surrounding slab on the axial capacity of the columns was investigated. Other parameters investigated were the placement of fiber-reinforced concrete in the slab and the concentration of flexural reinforcement in the column vicinity.

Flat plate system has structural weakness such as punching shear. Punching shear resistance can be increase by using a lager column section and effective depth, higer concrete compressive strength, and more flexural reinforcement ratio. But using a shear reinforcement is most economical, enable, workable solution in flat plate. The slab with thickness smaller than 250mm can not perform effectively due to insufficient development length of shear reinforcement in the slab. In case of proposed reinforcements, since the shear reinforcements were installed between the top bar and the bottom bar, shear elements generated slip failure before they reached yield. strength. effect of anchorage strength were effective anchorage length, concrete strength, diameter of shear element and anchorage detail. considering effect of slab thickness and concrete strength, formula of K factor propose in thin flat plate slab. by considering effect of anchorage length and concrete strength, strength of shear reinforcement will be computed correctly in thin flat plate slab.
The seismic behaviors of steel moment connections with different structural characteristics are investigated. The rupture index, which represents the fracture potential, is adopted to study the effect of concrete slab and the relative strength between the coin the beam, and Panel zone on the ductility of connections. The results show that the presence of slab increases the beam strength, imposes constraint near the beam top flange, and consequently, induces concentrated deformation near the beam access hall, which reduces the ductility of the connection. The total deformation capacity of the connection depends not only on the beam but also on the column and panel zone. Therefore, the detrimental slab effects and the relative strength should be considered in the seismic design of the connection.

UHPC(Ultra High Performance Concrete) is used widely with its remarkable performance, such as strength, ductility and durability. Since the fibers in the UHPC can control the tensile crack, the punching shear capacity of UHPC is higher than that of the conventional concrete. In this paper, seven slabs with different thickness and fiber volume ratio were tested. The ultimate punching shear strength was increased with the fiber volume ratio up to 1%. The shear capacity of specimens with the fiber content 1% and 1.5% do not have big differences. The thicker slab has higher punching shear strength and lower deformation capacity. The critical sections of punching shear failure were similar regardless of the fiber volume ratio, but it were larger in thicker slab.
This study reports on the structural characteristics of slab-column connections using fiber-reinforced ultra-high-strength concrete (UHSC). Compression tests were performed on two slab-column and four isolated column specimens. In the column load tests, slab loads were also applied on the slab-column specimens so that the actual confinement condition at the slab-column joint was considered. The main parameter investigated was the "puddling" of fiber-reinforced UHSC. This paper also investigates the effects of some parameters, such as confinement of slab concrete, steel fibers, and concrete strength of the joint, related to the ability of the slab-column specimens and isolated column specimens without the surrounding slab to transmit axial loads from the UHSC columns through slab-column connections. Furthermore, the ACI Code (2005) and the CSA Standard (2004) are compared to the experimental results. The beneficial effects of the puddling of fiber-reinforced UHSC on the transmission of column loads through slab-column connections are demonstrated.

It is the "maturity rule" that concrete of the same mix, at the same maturity, has the same strength. In this study, the Nurse-Saul function which was proposed to account for the effects of temperature and time on strength development is used in computing maturity. After existing various functions to relate concrete strength to the maturity value are considered, new strenth-maturity function is proposed. Tests are conducted in order to compare prediction value with measured concrete strength. The constants in proposed prediction equation are determined by standard specimens(cylinders) test, and the equation is adopted to predict strength of slab. The slab was cast in the laboratory from the same batch of mole, and cores are cut from slab in order to estimate the actual strength. Tehese values are used to compare with proposed equation. equation.

The purpose of this study is to compare the response of the high-strength concrete beam-column-slab subassembly with the response of a normal-strength concrete specimens. Four assemblies were designed 2/3 scale beam-column-slab joint(fc'=240kg/cm2 fc'=700kg/cm2) and tested to investigate seismic behaviour. From the test results 1) flexral cracks emerge to inside of bean deeply for high strength concrete member 2) the high-strength specimens represented stable hysteretic behaviour for the displacement ductility 5.5 but degradation in stiffness and strength and unstable hysteretic behaviors were observed owing to the brittleness of high-strength concrete beyond its range.
This paper presents the shear capacities of biaxial hollow slab with donut type hollow sphere. Recently, various types of slab systems which can reduce self-weight of slabs have been studied for increasing constructions of taller and larger building structures. A biaxial hollow slab system is widely known as one of the effective slab system, which can reduce self-weight of slab. According to previous studies, the hollow slab has low shear strength, compared to solid slab. Also, the shear capacities of biaxial hollow slab are influenced by the shapes and materials of hollow spheres. However, the current code does not provide a clear computation method for the shear strength of hollow slab. To verify the shear capacities of this hollow slab, one-way shear tests were performed. Four test specimens were used for test parameters. One was conventional RC slab and others were hollow slabs. The test parameters included two different shapes and materials of plastic balls. The shape parameters were donut and non-donut forms and the material parameters were general plastic and glass fiber plastic. The results showed that the shear strengths varied depending on hollow shapes and materials used in the slab.
Composite slab with deckplate needs sufficient bond strength between deckplate and concrete to conduct composite behavior Composite slab can transfer the shear by either chemical adhesion interface interlock, or active friction. There are several way of mechanical shear connection in composite slab. that is embossments shear connector shape of deckplate etc. Effect of mechanical interaction is deped on shape of deckplate which is to prevent peeling between deckplate and concrete and an amount of shear connector. The behavior and strength of the connection between the decking and the concrete slab due to embossments and end anchorage may be estimated using the push-off tests described in this paper We proposed the equation of shear bond strength in the composite slab It will be use to design by basic data in composite slab.
