Contents Analysis on the Dwellers' Medical Reports in High-Rise Mixed-Use Apartment (주상복합아파트 거주자의 질병자료에 관한 내용 분석)

  • This purpose of this study is to figure out the inter-relationship between the residence stories in high-rise mixed-use apartments and their residents' disease patterns throughout the dweller's medical reports in high-rise mixed-use apartments. Research basic data are obtained from medical fee request of National Health Insurance Corportion. Data are limited a housing complex to 'A' high-rise mixed-use apartment and a medical treatment time to 3 years(2004-2006). Analysis data of total 346,286 medical records, 43,159 disease records, and 8,999 persons are collected. By analyzing those data, findings are as follows: 1) Women is more medical treatments than men, 40-50 age group is more treated, and the residents of 6-25 stories are more received medical treatments. Diseases of the respiratory system and diseases of the eye and adnexa are relatively treated higher than other diseases. 2) The diseases of the respiratory system, the eye and adnexa, the skin and subcutaneous tissue, the ear and mastoid process), and the asthma have not relation to the high-storied residence through the data of disease records and personal records. But the analysis on the data of children, 7 ages and less, is showed a significant relation. And to conclude, there is no relationship between the residence of high-stories in that apartment and dwellers' disease patterns, but there is a little probable to the relationship in the pre-school child.

  • This study is an investigation research regarding Beauty Artists' perception degree about self-Technic. Therefore by grasping the field which the beauty artists recognize the insufficiency while they perform their task, the result which executed a question investigation for 430 workers at the beauty shops which are located in the Jeollabuk-do area is the same following. As a result on the subject, after the beauty artists receive a fundamental beauty care education, and when they are engaged in a real beauty care shop, in order not for them to have difficulties in business accomplishment, more realistic and active curriculum has to be made up. To do like this, more researches and more efforts in the center of the beauty care group and the educational institution are demanded. In addition, so as to grow as the expert of the beauty care artist, the systemic and internal educational training program which considers the curriculum contents, a time and the place must be provided, by developing as levels and steps of the beauty artists.

  • Objective : It is called 'Acupuncture following the four seasons', to differ the acupuncturing depth in the skin or the curing region following different seasons on the ground of heaven-person corresponding thought. The method of using five Su points is generally introduced in Yongchu or Nanjing. They only suggest the curing principles and don't mention the concrete location of the points. But definite points is shown in Maijing. Let me introduce Acupuncture following the four seasons in Maijing to you in this study. Methods : In order to study Acupuncture following the four seasons in Maijing, the first we summarise Acupuncture following the four seasons using five Su points in Yongchu and Nanjing. The second, we search for Acupuncture following the four seasons in Maijing, and analyze its contents. Results & Conclusion : According to the examination of Maijing, it succeeded to the theory of Nanjing, suggested Acupuncture following the four seasons with the method of using five Su points and acupuncture applying the principle of reinforcement and reduction. Furthermore, we know that the principle of apply not only acupuncture but also moxibustion to Acupuncture following the four seasons in Maijing.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and evaluate an e-Learning Program designed to enhance novice nurses's performance ability Method: The e-Learning program was designed for novice nurses before beginning to work in a hospital using a KMS(Knowledge Management System). This study was carried out from February 2006 to April 2007. The program had progressive steps including design, pilot test & modification, contents development, program application and evaluation. After the program design and pilot testing, the learner's satisfaction was analyzed. Result: The program site is http://kms.emc.ac.kr titled, 'Cyber Education Center'. The sixteen part course has been developed as follows: blood sugar test, skin test, insulin test 1, insulin test 2, blood culture, blood sampling, heat therapy, cold therapy, glycerin enema, preparation of operation, oxygen therapy, suction technique, transfusion, foley catheterization and aseptic technique. The overall learner's satisfaction score was 4.08 out of 5 points. Conclusion: E-Learning could be useful for education and nursing work. This method may be effective for clinical nurses.

  • Rumex crispus (Curled Dock, Polygonaceae) is a perennial wild plant used in traditional medicine as a laxative, astringent, and to treat blood and skin disease. The ethanol extract of R. crispus was obtained and its carbohydrate contents were analyzed using high-performance anion-exchange chromatography with pulsed amperometric detection. The anabolic effects of R. crispus in human osteoblastic MG-63 cells were investigated using the WST-8 assay, alkalinephosphatase (ALP) assay, and mineralization assay. The ethanol extract increased the proliferation of MG-63 cells and stimulated ALP activity in a dose-dependent manner over a 72-hrs period. Additionally, the ethanol extract dose-dependently stimulated the formation of bone nodules in MG-63 cells treated for 12 days. The ethyl acetate fraction from the ethanol extract did not affect osteoblast viability but induced an increase in ALP activity. In conclusion, the ethanol extract of R. crispus increases the proliferation and bone-forming activity of osteoblasts, and hence it could be used in the development of bone-forming stimulatory nutraceuticals and osteoporosis-related medicines.

  • Vaccinium uliginosum L. (VU) is a flowering plant in the genus Vaccinium has berry fruit. This study was performed to investigate the effect of water extract of Vaccinium uliginosum L. and fractions on inhibition of melanogenesis and wrinkle formation. One hundred grams of the Vaccinium uliginosum L. was extracted with 2,000 mL of water ($90^{\circ}C$, 16h, 2 times). The water extracts were lyophilized and stored at $4^{\circ}C$ until used. Vaccinium uliginosum L. extracts showed scavenger activities on DPPH radical, superoxide anion radical, hydroxyl radical, hydrogen peroxide and singlet oxygen radical, dose dependently. And VU extract and fractions reduced melanin contents on B16F10 melanoma and inhibited the expression of melanogenesis-related proteins, tyrosinase, tyrosinase-related protein (TRP-1) and dapachrometa utomerase (Dct, TRP-2). Moreover VU extract and fractions stimulated procollagen production and inhibited MMP-1 production in human fibroblast. And it decreased degree of wrinkle formation in hairless mouse skin that induced by DVB irradiation for 9 weeks. From the above results, it is possible that Vaccinium uliginosum L. may be developed to be the health functional food and functional cosmetics that have anti-melanogenesis and anti-wrinkle effect.

Analysis of Golf Ball Mobility and Balancing based on IoT Sports Environments

  • Recently, IoT researches using sensor data based on embedded networks in various fields including healthcare and sports have been continuously attempted. This study analyzes golf ball mobility to support IoT application in golf sports field. Generally, since the difference in density occurs due to the condition of the inner material and the abnormal state at the time of the outer skin joining during the manufacturing of the golf ball, the weight of each subset is equal for any two points with the same radius in the sphere cannot be guaranteed. For this reason, the deflected weight of the sphere has the undesirable effect of hitting the ball in a direction in which the weight of the ball is heavy. In this study, it is assumed that there is a unique center of gravity of the ball, and even if the golf ball cannot be manufactured perfectly, it wants to establish the basic principle to accurately recognize or mark the putting line based on the center of gravity. In addition, it is evaluated how the mobility of the golf ball with a deviation from the center of gravity of the golf ball affects the progress path (or movement direction) and the moving distance (or carry distance) after the golfer hits. The basic model of the mobility of the golf ball can help the golfer exercise model and the correlation analysis. Whitening Effects of Anthricin on B16F10 Cells (B16F10 세포에서 Anthricin의 미백 효능)

  • This study was performed to clarify the whitening effects of anthricin on the B16F10 cell line. In order to elucidate the whitening effects of anthricin on the B16F10 cell line, cell viability, messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) expressions, tyrosinase activity assay, and melanin production assay were measured. The effects of anthricin on tyrosinase-related protein 1(TYRP1)/TYRP2/tyrosinase (TYR)/microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) mRNA expressions and melanin content were determined. Quantitative real-time RT-PCR showed that anthricin decreased the mRNA expression level of TYRP1/TYRP2/TYR/MITF genes and melanin production contents than α-MSH-treated B16F10 cells. The tyrosinase activity assay revealed that anthricin decreased the melanin production on the B16F10 cells. These data show that anthricin increases the whitening effects on the B16F10 cells; thus, anthricin is a potent ingredient for skin whitening. Thus, further research on the mechanism of action of anthricin for the development of not only cosmetics, but also healthy food and medicine should be investigated.

Stretchable Energy Harvester Based on Piezoelectric Composites and Kirigami Electrodes (압전 복합소재와 키리가미 섬유전극을 적용한 스트레쳐블 에너지 하베스팅 소자)

  • Stretchable piezoelectric energy harvester (S-PEHs) based on composite materials are considered one of the potential candidates for realizing wearable self-powered devices for smart clothing and electronic skin. However, low energy conversion performance and expensive stretchable electrodes are major bottlenecks hindering the development and application of S-PEHs. Here, we fabricated the S-PEH by adopting the piezoelectric composites with enhanced stress transfer properties and kirigami-patterned textile electrodes. The optimum contents of piezoelectric BaTiO3 nanoparticles inside the carbon nanotube/ecoflex composite were selected as 30 wt% considering the trade-off between stretchability and energy harvesting performance of the device. The final S-PEH shows an output voltage and mechanical stability of ~5 V and ~3,000 cycles under repeated 150% of tensile strain, respectively. This work presents a cost-effective and scalable way to fabricate stretchable piezoelectric devices for self-powered wearable electronic systems.

  • Objectives : This study aims to examine the efficacy and application of Cannabis according to its parts. Methods : Contents on efficacy, treatment, and application of Cannabis in Material Medica and other texts of East Asian Medicine were collected and interpreted to deduce each characteristic. Results : Cannabis was found to be applicable to various wind symptoms and wind stroke, various pain and injuries, skin diseases, blockage or leaking of urine or feces, disease related to genitalia and anus, chronic ague, women's disease related to menstruation, birth, pregnancy, and to have the effects of heightening perceptive and sensory organs, detoxification and anesthesia, stimulating hair growth, and eradicating parasites. It drives out wind-heat pathogenic qi, circulates qi and blood, which allowed it to be applied not only to blockages but to symptoms of leakage. In other words, Cannabis was used when both excess and deficiency diseases were present, the former caused by acute blockage and the latter accompanied by stagnation. Conclusions : Based on the findings of this study, future researches on the efficacy and application of Cannabis could be done more systematically. In line with recent trend of wide application of medical Cannabis, we hope for it to be more actively used in the field of East Asian Medicine based on objective evidence.
